I'd really rather not. The Andromeda Initiative in the game doesn't seem particularly competent, not to mention there's still plenty to discover in the Milky Way galaxy. No need to risk going to another galaxy.

Maybe, but you'd have to do....farming (runs away) and produce a lot of children (runs even farther away). Actually, I would've found it interesting if MEA featured some more efficient way to reproduce, given that 20k people aren't really a lot to start a new civilization with, but of course that would be *way* to unconventional for Bioware. You know, for a studio with supposedly progressive political leanings, they can be surprisingly reactionary when it comes to life-science-related technology. Well you dont have to be a farmer you can always do something else so long as it contributes to the Initiative. Sorry but thats is an eventuality that everyone able (or willing) in the Initiative will have to face. Well if it wasn't for the damn Kett those numbers wouldn't be as much as a problem. I think they would be. Think of the complexity of modern civilization and the number of people you need just to keep things running these days. I guess they can automate a lot more than we can in the MEU, but again, someone has to bootstrap the new civilization, and in order to grow powerful, you need people more than most, unless you start building more super-powerful AIs. Which needs automation, which needs people to implement. 20k people, that's the population of a small town on Earth today. Really, it's nothing, and even less if you spread them over several planets. Sure, theoretically you could get to a billion within 7-8 generations, but someone has to make the stuff to support all those people before they're born. Add that such a civilization would likely have survival values for several generations at least, and these tend to be socially restrictive. I am not seeing much that I'd like. Of course advanced technology can change things drastically. It doesn't even need to be that drastically advanced compared even with today, but it's the kind of stuff to which they seem to be particularly allergic at Bioware, namely the kind of technology liable to change the social fabric of civilization. Advanced nanotech, human enhancement, super-advanced life science and so on. Give me that, and I'll go anywhere, but not at the MEU's retarded tech level.

Some notes though: - It is in the world of Mass Effect at the time of leaving but Reapers aren't a thing - You are a civilian not a Pathfinder. Personally I would, I have always loved the idea of traveling space to see new planets and galaxies (It was the one thing that I absolutely loved about No Mans Sky was having relatively unlimited freedom to go wherever you wanted). If I can get far away from the human race then I'll sign up right now.

Nope. I am one of those peeps that don't understand the allure of traveling to unknown stars. Even the moon seems boring and bland to me. Still people want to go to Mars, even if its a one way trip, crazy people mind you.
I am glad that games allow me to travel such places though!

Yes. To be honest, I hate my life. If I die in transit, or from whatever aliens, oh well. At least I get away from this garbage planet, maybe see somethng cool before I die.

My point was that what makes this planet a "garbage planet" is the human race that lives on it. Then if you look at it in ME terms, the depicition of the other races aren't that much better. So essentially you're just moving from one garbage planet to settle another - via a waste disposal unit in a space ship.

I might, but I doubt they would have me. I'm an asexual, agendered, nerd who washes dishes for $10/hr in a crappy chain restaurant for a living. How in the hell would I be any use in establishing a new home for humanity? Sheesh, I barely have any use in THIS galaxy. Anyway, a lot would depend if I could take my dog with me, and how much beer I could stash in my cryo-pod. My hope would be that due to the technology available, they'd have stuff like a Star Trek replicator to just make whatever you wanted... but yeah, I'd have to take my cat with me. And a box full of my favorite spices (I love to cook).

Those specific individuals that I have to restrain myself from murdering on a regular basis would be dead by then and long gone, so would be an improvement.

For the craic aye. Would regret it when I realise a talking walking Tadpole, a mannequin, a velociraptor and a big ugly toad-turtle that sounds like a castrated Gok Wan are in charge though.
