Borderlands thread for Vault Hunters and Badasses alike

Here it is if the mods think they should merge both.

First of all I disagree with the humour not having aged well, I still think BL2 is the funniest game I've ever played, ahead of games like Portal 2 or Saints Row 3. Handsome Jack is my favourite villain, he's just such an entertaining super jerk. I love Dr. Zed, Claptrap, Tiny Tina, Mr. Torgue, Tannis, Ellie, Innuendobot and all that gleeful OTT silliness.

I still play it occasionally (on PC though). Gearbox seems to be working on BL3, and together with Elder Scrolls 6 it's the hypothetical future game I'm most looking forward to. No other game that has been announced so far gets me excited, but TES6 and BL3 will be my definitive insta-preorder games.

Still much more fun than most AAA games in the last few years.

For all of you who already played the living crap out of the game and want a bit of a more fresh or just different approach, there's the Reborn mod. It's a bunch of mods combined together. Adds fuckton of new guns, replaces others, changes balance to be more on par of what the original game was, etc. I'd like to try it myself right now honestly, but don't have a PC at the moment.

Yeah, 2K ain't THAT stupid. Sure Gearbox has good relations with Epic, but as I've said, 2K is publishing it, and they sure as fuck want to make all the money possible. At most, the game will be in both Steam and Epic stores.

The very first thing Randy says on stage about the game "It's not gonna be a Battle Royale, that's not our thing" What a legend you gotta be to say THAT on stage, so many other companies could learn. Not saying the guy is the best dev ever, but at least he knew his Company place there.

This game looks fan fucking tastic. Anyone who played BL before already notice how much of an improvement it seems to be. I'm a bit scared about the release, if it's gonna be on Steam or not and when. But the remaster hints "Xbox One, PS4, Steam" on the logos, so who knows.

Here's a good Trailer break down, with all the known names of villains, vault hunters and other stuff. I might get some stuff on my own if I feel like it, or maybe toss a bunch of screenshots of all the weapons they showed at the end, there's a lot of shit, we shall see if I feel like it.

Hope there is something similar to Athena Maelstrom build. That was RPG+shooting done right.

I think it's hard to tell if the graphics changed (which they did, on a different way than most people expect) because of the very particular art style these games have. You can't have "better hand drawn graphics" because it's clear this right here is the style they want for the game, very rugged and... well hand drawn. They do look a bit high res, more "crispy" if that makes any sense. Ultimately the graphics improvement will be seen in special effects, drawn distance, lightning, that type of stuff.
The game does look huge in scale, you can see some of the maps look pretty big, not that the first games were small, but this one looks more of what you'd expect for an "open world" style of a game. That could be taken as a technological upgrade over previous installments.

Ultimately, true, not much to go on because the trailer didn't show much outside how the game looks, we don't have a feeling of it.

As for release date, it will be confirmed the 3rd of April (my birthday interestingly enough ). I expect based on what we know to be fall of this year.
