I have trouble understanding what he says and what he does...

He doesn't really work well as a character for me. He makes a good case for the Picard option: "get off my ship."

Christ, people already dislike Liam, making him a scouser would be overkill.

Now what we need is a character with a thick Yorkshire accent. Subtitles would be mandatory.

I'm American and understand him just fine. Both his accent and his intent. He thinks out loud, and speaks before he's had a chance to decide exactly what he wants to say or the best way to say it. So his speech patterns are a little strange, but, it's really not that hard to figure out what he's getting at. I think you just have to care enough to try. And maybe that's the problem. Sometimes I wonder if players willfully refuse to understand him just because they don't like him. Which is unfortunate, even if it's their right - his character has a lot more depth than people give him credit for.

I think that Sera is one of those people where you could either understand her and loved her, or you couldn't and loathed her.  I think that's all it came down to.
