I can understand the words that come out of his mouth. I just can't make any sense of them. Could someone link to a vid with an example of an incomprehensible passage? It's so incomprehensible, finding it on Google is impossible.

I loved Auf Wiedersehen Pet when it was on... *sigh* I'm old. I do love a good English conversation. You know it... Ah the sweet lilting tones of the Brummie

I have no trouble understanding him at all, and as for the way he speaks (including type of dialogue) I hear similar on the streets where I live (south London). If anything, it needed more 'ye get me blud innit'.
Mind you I find a lot of characters that use American accents and 'English' awful, so I guess I can see the point being made.
They should have made Liam scouse, I would've spat my tea out all over my chips and gravy if they have done that.

It's because Sera is inside Liam because Luke Kristjanson is the god that created both. Jacob's greatest quote will always be Gravity's one mean mother! You're kidding right?

Because obviously the composition of the planet's crust is exactly the same as the organic life forms on it. Oh, yeh. Obviously. How dense of me? Hahaha, good one. Especially since no one caught what you did there.

I have trouble understanding what he says and what he does...
He doesn't really work well as a character for me. He makes a good case for the Picard option: "get off my ship."

Am I just to American or something? All his sentences just seem like jiberish to me. It might even bother me if he had anything worth saying. But still it is horrible. And I thought I needed English lessons. I hardly understand what he says, not sure if its a certain English accent or something but it sounds like he leaves like every other word half-finished and I have to guess what he just tried to say. Its annoying. And I understand the Irish, Scotts and even rednecks from southern US without any major issues. Though I think I don't even want to understand what he says, its Liam afterall. I wish there was a renegade interrupt where Ryder shrugs, turns around leaves in the middle of his mad gibberish.

I'm American and understand him just fine. Both his accent and his intent. He thinks out loud, and speaks before he's had a chance to decide exactly what he wants to say or the best way to say it. So his speech patterns are a little strange, but, it's really not that hard to figure out what he's getting at. I think you just have to care enough to try. And maybe that's the problem. Sometimes I wonder if players willfully refuse to understand him just because they don't like him. Which is unfortunate, even if it's their right - his character has a lot more depth than people give him credit for.

He's fine. He speaks pretty cleanly. My native language is not English, and I got every word he's saying with no subtitles on. Just be glad he's not at GTA IV Jacob level of unintelligible accent. Little Jacob doesn't have an accent, he just speaks Patois.

Even when he isn't speaking gibberish its rarely worth listening to anyway. I actually miss Jacob after spending a whole game with Liam on my ship. what does Jacob have to do with Liam?

Christ, people already dislike Liam, making him a scouser would be overkill. Now what we need is a character with a thick Yorkshire accent. Subtitles would be mandatory. See now I'm picturing a companion in the mould of Sean Bean from Lady Chatterley being all rough and northern at me. I also can't hear the word scouser without my brain automatically adding 'eh eh calm down calm down' silently to itself.

Light spoiler of a scene on the Nexus not related to any mission. The words he says to explain his special moment with Jaal don't make any more sense if you understand them.

I thought I was the only one - I also can't understand half of his dialogue - which in retrospect is probably doing his character a great service considering the rest of the writing.

American here. I had no trouble understanding Liam. I liked his accent, too.
The characters I had trouble understanding the first go 'round were Sera and Mordin. Sera had a weird way of saying things, spoke fast and had an accent, Mordin spoke really fast and left words out. I just stuck to reading the subtitles for them until I got used to the way they spoke.
