Where’s the none of the above option, since I’m not a fan of any of the listed ones for a variety of reasons.

A canonized end is aldready the basis of any futur ME. Whatever this canonized end could be, what ever good it can be. If we rely on teaser, we can already bet that synthesys or lets reapers win will not be the canon. After that it is the marketing departement job to determined what could be the best solution to reach the maximum consensus among fans base. From here it is to scenarists to invent the most consensuals bullshits most peoples would agree to believe. ME3 ends danages cant be repaired. However with a bit of conformism, there is money to extract, even from a badly wounded and discretited myth. How do you figure? Reapers died even in the Synthesis timeline before the Crucible fired. As for the lines not showing up, that could be any number of things from they faded or were symbolic to show what happened in the ending. Considering a third of players picked Synthesis according to MELE stats (meanwhile 45% picked Destroy, 16% Control, 9% Refuse) throwing that away is not the best decision if they want to reach maximum consensus.

If we rely on teaser, we can already bet that synthesys or lets reapers win will not be the canon. How could it be? Other than Refuse, the is the least interesting ending. Space Magic to make synthetics alive because they're not really that important unless they're alive. This de facto says that only organic beings count. And they are organic if they've got cells inside that reproduce. I could imagine Control being possible but I think most go for the Giant Red Button. Revenge and the actual survival of all sentient life in the galaxy are the most important things to consider. That’s not what Sunthesis says at all. Meanwhile that is exactly what Destroy says: only organics count or are worth saving.

Normally I'd be fine with not knowing Eivor's end. But since they showed us the grave in a place Eivor wouldn't normally have been...we know Eivor returned to England, and it's not like crossing the Atlantic back then was no biggie...so they had to know that people would be wondering why the grave ended up there. I have a feeling that in the final DLC, the Staff of Hermes is going to somehow... someway... wind up on Eivor's corpse in the modern day and revive her. I don’t think it works that way. Otherwise Layla would have used it to revive Victoria. I think it only worked for Loki due to him being hooked up to Yggdrasil thus not fully dead (plus it being controlled by his wife who wouldn’t care about Eivor).

Well many Shepards will not date her. There is other players here that prefer other love interests over Liara. True but She did join minds with all sheps in ME1 to decipher the Beacons who’s to say she didn’t use some sneaky Asari tricks to get pregnant by Shep without their consent. Bioware would never have a character as prominent as Liara be a rapist.

As for Alistair, he is definitely out as well. If you didn't get him to kick the habit, he ended up a total wreck and it was hinted that Harding (I think) put him out of his misery. That was Cullen, not Alistair.

Remember 20 years ago when Jack Thompson claimed that violence in videogames was influencing violent behavior in kids, and later was soundly rebuked by multiple research studies? History always repeats itself. For history to repeat itself, there needs to be a gap first. There are still tons of idiots who make those arguments about video games (and many other things) whenever someone young commits violence.

Perhaps at the time Envy’s illusions were a lot more subtle, so it didn’t look like we were in the Fade or anything like that. Or that one was a lot stronger, since it wanted you to think it was reality (after all in the illusion it was dead to trick you). Envy was supposed to get stronger the longer it's in your mind, isn't it? I can’t recall, but it does make sense that the longer Envy is in your mind it learns more about you this able to make its illusions more realistic to you. Similar to how regular dreams in the Fade don’t have the green or floating rocks because it changes to fit the person dreaming.

Always interesting to me to see people correlate quality with how "dirty" or "gritty" something is. Hate how enough people think that, making some of those stories so popular that more and more try to follow it.

From how they described it, when that scene plays out the Inquisitor doesn’t know they are in an illusion. That would be odd considering it is always apparent we are in the Fade. Or was it going to be another confrontation entirely before it forced us in there or after we had thought we had defeated it? Once we are in the Fade, it is clear that everything is an illusion but that the envy demon is trying to manipulate us into revealing more about our innermost psyche so it can mimic us more effectively or, alternatively, simply possess us. It was quite an effective way of showing what it is like to resist possession. So it would have seemed odd to have a section where you aren't aware everything is an illusion. But do agree it was a good decision to cast this whole idea into the fiery pit of Mount Doom. Yes, that was definitely one of their better decisions. Perhaps at the time Envy’s illusions were a lot more subtle, so it didn’t look like we were in the Fade or anything like that. Or that one was a lot stronger, since it wanted you to think it was reality (after all in the illusion it was dead to trick you).

My memory was that it was the demon(on the templar path) pretending to be Leliana and then one of the options was it seducing the PC. I find it very dubious to describe that as rapey I remembered it was something to do with Leliana but I guess I wasn't remembering the exact scene. I suppose my brain filled in the Redcliffe Castle scene because I may have subconsciously remembered them saying Leliana was the victim, but I do agree that in this situation the Inquisitor would have been the victim. Actually there is an argument both ways. On the one hand, the Inquisitor knows they are in the Fade, so there is the question of whose subconscious this is tapping into. I have always assumed this is playing out in their mind. Does this mean they have a secret desire to seduce Leliana? Since she has never shown any inclination to be seduced in the waking world, it would have seemed like they were acting out some perverse fantasy of their own which could have rape connotations. On the other hand, since the demon seemed to be controlling events, was it acting out its own sexual fantasy by pretending to be someone whom the Inquisitor had a secret desire for and thus seducing them under false pretences? Essentially, I think they were very wise to drop the idea because it would have opened up a whole can of worms and justified criticism for including such a twisted scenario into the game. From how they described it, when that scene plays out the Inquisitor doesn’t know they are in an illusion. It seems like you defeated the Envy Demon and achieved your goal. Yet when you get back at Haven things seem a little off, one of which would have been “Leliana” trying to seduce you. Later it would be revealed this was an illusion by the Envy Demon. So no, not really an argument for both sides in that case. But do agree it was a good decision to cast this whole idea into the fiery pit of Mount Doom.

Feedback, of course, is absolutely necessary but "artistic integrity" was thrown out of the window, imo.
(◔‿◔) I'm pretty sure the writers at BioWare know that anything they write will offend someone - see their reaction to somebody insisting that the game will be a 'woke mess' on this very thread a short time ago. They're happy to keep their artistic integrity by, say, putting gay and trans characters in the game even though there are people who will scream at them about it.
However it's one thing to know that everything you write will upset somebody, somewhere and decide that you want to write the thing anyway. It's another to write something that you don't even realise is potentially offensive, which is what this sounds like. In that case it is absolutely for the best to have somebody say 'uh, I don't think you meant it THAT way, but maybe don't do that?' before you put it in front of readers/players. Yeah. Reminds me of Patrick saying something similar during DAI’s production. They had some trans people read their stuff for Krem, and learned they made some mistakes so fixed it. Or the whole Envy Demon taking the form of Leliana and sleeping with the Inquisitor section that was scrapped since some said the scene was raping Leliana (even though it was actually raping the Inquisitor).

I don't quite get this picture. Why is the last picture (obviously) Bastilla Shan? To my recollection, although you can play so that she turns to the dark side....That ending (like Kyle Katarn becming Emperor in Jedi Knight) is not canon. I think it’s saying her “I ___ a Sith Lord” is she slept with one, since in the SWTOR canon she and Revan had kids. Side note, really hope they don’t force that in the remake but instead ignore SWTOR. I enjoyed their chaste romance, and would prefer it stayed that way.

I haven't seen the show nor do I plan to, so I didn't mind the spoilers. But that video was hilarious. I like how he played the out of touch Disney executive. I subscribed to this guy's channel. All of Ryan’s videos are great. Whether you love the film/show he does or hate it, you will enjoy his Pitch Meeting of it.

I personally don't want a redemption Arc. Just let me kill him and be done with it. Maybe proof him wrong beforehand, so he dies miserably. So many replies like this, but no one takes the time to elaborate. Why the hate for Solas? It can't be because he wants to destroy the world because that's just tuesday in this kind of story. Why can't it? He plans on murdering millions of innocent people. There's no better reason to hate somebody.

Doubtful. If they were to do that then why not go one step further and remake ME3,thus fixing the mess that it caused. Because the handful of people who preferred Synthesis would scream bloody murder. I don't think Control people are that concerned. Maybe a "meh". And no one cares about Refuse other than the 1.25 people who liked it. Yes, one person is only 1/4 committed to it. You do know that Synthesis is the second most popular ending right, sitting at 30% of the player base? A third is hardly a handful. Destroy is only at 45%, so more people oppose Destroy than support it.

After all they need other antagonists since Vader has been told to move on.

Many moons ago when we were first discussing whether the da4 should be the inquisitor or a new character I said that while I liked making new characters and would love to see a new Tevinter character background with new relationships/companions, I didn't think either were inherently better. Because I could imagine stories that would work better with one, and stories that would work better with the other (and my imagination is more limited than a team of writers). Now that they've made their choice however, and been certain enough about it to release a trailer to that effect, I would be a touch worried if they changed course now. I'd be left wondering whether a) the Inquisitor was shoe horned into a story written for a different character, or whether the plot was dumped/rewritten this far along in the process for the Inquisitor? Both scenarios would make me concerned for the final products quality TBH. But as usual the proof would be in the pudding. Meanwhile if it is a new PC we already have an answer to that question. And that answer is yes.

Okay, I actually really liked that finale. Kenobi season two please? Agreed. It beautifully did everything I was hoping for in the finale (Qui-Gon ghost for example), and even some extra goodies like Palpatine cameo. The scene with Vader and Obi-Wan was incredibly emotional. I loved when they did that in Rebels with Ashoka, and this one was even better.

Oh wow, Overwatch 2 isn't launching with its hype new PvE mode? I don't actually know why it's worth buying then TBH, wasn't everybody saying in the beta that the PvP game was virtually the same and that it could have just been rolled out in a patch or something :S. I thought the PvP version was just going to be a big patch, so that it didn’t divide the player base. The part you buy will be the PvE campaign. Similar to Halo Infinite where the MP is free. Did they change that for Overwatch 2?
