I think an epilogue is a good idea regardless. It is pretty obvious that DA wasn't over with DAI and it had two epilogues (one in the base game after taking down Corypheus and another one at the end of the Trespasser).

I don't even know if it is a good idea to start this thread. It probably isn't in all honesty but of all the criticisms leveled at this game (some valid, some not so much) this has to be the single dumbest simply because it isn't in the actual game itself or at least not anything really noticable. Yet the derp brigade insists that there is some sort of "sjw conspiracy" going on with this game yet they never offer proof to back their crap up. Usually it is something like "herr derr I don't like how default Sara looks" or "the cc was deliberately designed to stop me from making a hot chick" or some other dumb crap like that. I am generally not a fan of sjws but I suspect some of these idiots have a much broader definition of "sjw" than I do. Fortuately it isn't as bad here as even those that don't like the game usually don't fall back on the "it's sjw" routine (though they do pop up once in a while). Yet we have all run across these idiots in different parts of the internet. Youtube for example is infested with them. What I want to know where is the damn actual proof that this game in and of itself is "sjw propoganda". 1. It's not good idea especially when you are so biased. I am pretty middle of the road which probably makes me an sjw in your eyes. The truth is everyone has bias one way or another no matter what the issue. Anyone that claims otherwise is lying. In this particular case my bias isn't even political.2. It is not clear if changes in the series are made to affect players or to match the market. But they are there. Gender roles are changing and media and entertainment business made major impact. (is it coincident that way more left movement people are there? well not statistical proof but we are not dumb kids too) No it is not clear so people should stop acting like it is.3. SJW are just a label, probably used not so accurately everytime. People from real SJW community usually aren't very smart and usually in useless studies which will never provide them normal income, so they just blame anyone who has something better. SJW are one of the most racist and sexist groups I've ever seen (from those who aren't banned officially). A pretty dumb label at that (one I myself have been guilty of using). It is often used as a silencing tactic to discredit the opposition. Of course there are ones that take it too far but that happens with every ideological alignment. It is not something that one group is exclusively guilty of.4. You clearly don't understand how wide term propaganda is. Anything what is designed to affect people thinking is propaganda. And where do you make the disctinction between what is propaganda and what isn't?
5. Youtube is probably widest open chat in the world and saying it has nothing to do with what majority are thinking isn't very smart. Facebook groups/bubbles or forums like this never represent "right thinking" as they have people with same interests. Eventually these little bubbles just create ignorant people. Everyone must listen to different opinions to understand what is right and what is wrong. And how many of those opinions come from a place of willful ignorance? If you really want to educate yourself you have to dig and do research that includes more than just listening to someone that thinks they know what they are talking about spout their opinion.6. Calling everyone who thinks otherwise an idiot and then pretending you want to have proof is just typical ignorance. There are plenty of things told about this game and if you can't find anything, then maybe it's you, but not the lack of proofs is a problem. Nothing ignorant about expecting proof. They make the accusation they need to back it up.

No thanks. Andromeda so far in my playrhough sets up some fantastic sequels. SO much pontential in Andromeda galaxy. If only they keep expanding it. Companions will gow fantastic given the chance. Vetra , Peebee are killing it in andromeda. I am not in disagreement with you. In my ideal world (which means it won't happen) bioware would keep making games set in both galaxies pretty much making it two sub franchises within the same franchise. Have Edmonton work on Milky Way games and have Montreal do the Andromeda games.

The next war in the MW would be against Leviathan. They showed no remorse whatsoever over controlling sentient beings and I can't see them changing. Problem is, the writers would have to be very careful or it would be too much like the OT. Keep the Leviathan off screen and only fight their pawns, probably not even have them as the main antagonist, that might work. You couldn't ignore them though, they've already shown how merciless, arrogant and powerful they are. They wouldn't slink off and live peacefully in some far corner of the MW. Still, after ME:A it's probably best they leave it alone unless they bring their A team. In all seriousness if they did a post reaper war game I am pretty much in agreement with you. I think a spacefaring yahg can be in the picture as well and they can become an instant threat. I think there are still a lot of lose ends in the Milky Way.

If there is any genre that can be versatile it can be rpgs. Most rpgs are huge games with lots of optional content and they often let you approach the game in more than one way. I think as long as the rpg developer is good at taking in feedback they can address the needs of most of the players (collectively speaking) in a fairly diverse manner. Of course there is no way a game can account for every little taste in preference that people on an individual level may have but I think larger groups of people from various general demographics can have their wants and needs accounted for by a good developer. True. That's the goal. And that's what BW tried to do. Unfortunately, they missed the mark. At least they make the attempt. How many developers actually allow you to create your own protagonist of your choice including gender, race, and even orientation? Most games and even some other rpg developers you are stuck with one set in stone character. Their success might vary from game to game but at least they give you options in their games.

I am pretty moderate and middle of the road when it comes to this kind of stuff (which of course means both sides won't like me very much). I will say this when it comes to games in general and especially rpgs the more options the better. People should be able to role play the kind of the character they want and one they can relate to. It hurts nobody to have more pliable optional content in the game. My main motivation for starting this thread was to rant about what I see as a lot of hyperbole and largely baseless accusations being thrown at this game because there are people that are just looking for an excuse to hate the game and the developer so of course they boogeymen within the game that don't actually exist. Amen. I just wonder if our (m-f) needs/interests are compatible. It seems to me women tend to want different things out of games than men. (please note the word tend) If there is any genre that can be versatile it can be rpgs. I am not sure if I should be proud of this thread or not. Normally if I get a thread that blows up I am proud of it but going in I knew this one would be a different animal. It's an important topic, and we should be discussing it, respectfully. The future of gaming is being decided by the kind of discussions we have now. Personally, my greatest wish is that we all find what we are looking for in games. I wonder if that is possible in a single game. Do women need their own AAA studio? I am pretty moderate and middle of the road when it comes to this kind of stuff (which of course means both sides won't like me very much). Mass Effect Online We're back in a post Reaper Milky Way rebuilding Choice of playable races Human, Turian, Asari, Quarian, Krogan EA gets their cash cow. Bioware gets to put together a solid rpg Bioware/EA will be hated by "loyal" fans (but that's nothing they can't handle) I'd roll with it. Even a semi successful mmo can get new content for years.

Huh, I guess you enjoy playing as a an AI named SAM that has infected Ryder's body like the Manchurian Candidate. See, I thought that this was supposed to be about finding a new home for humanity, not dicking around shooting aliens in the face. And that just comprises the first mission. Silly me. Except you can't when every individual review score was the result of a subjective bias review since every reviewer uses intangible criteria to judge a game based on what they believe is the criteria for a good game. The only thing in this situation that can measured objectively is the average of the review scores and that still does not measure the intangible value of the game itself because it varies from person to person based on their own desires and preferences. Also the fact that review scores themselves are so varied from outlet to outlet shows that it is not something that can be objectively measured. If it were every single outlet would have the same exact review score and you would not need to average it out. That's fine. If you want me to defend each of those things the same way that you defend this game, that's fine. I can become a 9/11 truther quick. If you believe that facts are facts, and are even willing to go so far as to say that all reviews and the reviews as a whole are subjective. That's great. If you wanna believe the main stream media about 9/11 that a bunch'a Arabs flew into the ARC, that's fine. Just know that I am the only truth teller here. First of all numbnutz you don't even know what my take on 9/11 is and if you are using my take on subjectivity vs objectivity on video games to determine you know what my thoughts on 9/11 are then you are more deluded than I thought. What next are you going to determine you know what someone's stance on immigration is based on what flavor of ice cream they like?

Harbinger was the apex predator, the oldest and largest reaper. He managed to do what no one else could. He killed Shepard. There's nothing impressive about penetrating plot armor - Shepard's a puny human. But then, Harbinger couldn't even fully pull that off in the end. Harbykins is a failure. When it told the Collector General that they failed, it was really talking to itself. Listen to yourself; you're indoctrinated! Human, you've changed nothing. Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater. That which you know as Reapers are your salvation through destruction.

:srs: Harbykins was a shit reaper that only got the job because the cooler reaper drew the short straw at the galactic horizon. Anyways, Harby would just be a confused giant robo cuttlefish with no motivation to do anything because ReaperOS was uninstalled by Shepard. More than likely, we'd just find it drifting around in an asteroid belt bouncing off of things. After which, everyone would gather around to gawk at the failure, then blow it to bits. Harbinger was the apex predator, the oldest and largest reaper. He managed to do what no one else could. He killed Shepard.

The one thing they must do if they return to the Milky Way is they need to have Harbinger survive the events of ME 3 even if Shepard picked destroy. He is different than other reapers he can survive the crucible blast. I want Harbinger back and I need Harbinger back. Oh and bring back Javik.

Noooo! Shepard disapproves -100. Um, honestly, in my very humble opinion, I think they need to grab this horse by the mane, clamor back on and Ride! for all they're worth. heheh. But yeah. While it's fresh. Annd, well, I'm just gonna say it -- I think we need to go Home. Back to the Milky Way. I feel like that's where the story really is. Post Reaper invasion MW. I mean, I was down with trying out Andromeda, and I thought it was fun bit of romping, but I strongly feel like the Story that is screaming out comes from the MW. There were some interesting threads left dangling from MEA, but I feel like the post Reaper invasion MW would provide a more intense and interesting setting. I mean, it's a hot mess there right now..post ME3 ending and pre EC..it's anarchy. The societal infrastructure has been demolished. Vacuum of power. Which species fall? Which species rise? Which gangs, or criminal bosses, are making their moves. Going to Palaven. Going to Thessia, properly. Seeing places like these struggling in this post Reaper invasion setting. What we experienced of the MW was pretty glam, pretty clean...overall. Let's see it dirty, because I know it is now. It's a;ways like that when civilization breaks down. You don;t come out of something like that unscathed. It will never be the same, and that difference is interesting. A brand new PC working to navigate this new MW. this decidely very different, very dangerous MW. I know, I know Ending choices and all that, but they could bottleneck some stuff like Asimov said put together some "plausible gobbledygook", and get on with it already. That's what creative writers do, no? They find the angle and they make it work. Get us back into the setting, but the rest would stand on its own. Again, imho, that's where the story was, and still is. We need to go home. And it needs to be done in 3-3.5 years. Let people know within a year, and promote it in a reasonable way. Not hype-y marketing, but not gross negligent marketing, either. It just seems so obvious to me. It's a perfect setting for a game. All the conflict and whatnot baked right in already. so, yeah. edit: and for that matter, let's see earth, too, in this ME futuristic way..after the invasion no less. going to these places and dealing with this reality would be an awesome pseudo open world. I want to see a post reaper war milky way as well. I don't care if they have to canonize one of the endings to do it for continuity's sake.

I'm sorry but I'm not gay......so I don't know why gay gamers are offended.......so if you have the time, educated me,why are they offended? I'm not gay either, but it only takes a little bit of empathy along the lines of walking a mile in the other's shoes to notice offense. I took Gil to be an anti gay cardboard on my first playthrough and although I have no horse in the race, I hated him for that. Derp brigade "herr derr herr derr empathy is a weakness herr derr"

Could you imagine the way the internet would whine about ME 1 if it were released today instead of ten years ago? The asari would be one giant feminist conspiracy because they are an all female race and considered the most successful and most advanced race in the galaxy. Anderson and Udina would be considered forced diversity since neither of them are white. Joker would be forced diversity because of his brittle bone diseases. Ashley because she is a female and tough as nails soldier. Kaidan would be called a beta male because he is not a dick. The inclusion of the Conrad Verner character would be a conspiracy to make white males look like goofy doofuses and of course all the aliens would be forced diversity.

Nope, I think your view on it being objective is subjective. Nor do strawman arguments change that. However, you're welcome to your subjective opinion on your objectivity and so am I The closest I think we can get to objectivity on MEA is that it is a polarizing game; some think it is good, some think it is bad and others that it is mediocre or flawed. I think that you need your views on relativity, subjectiveness, and objectiveness examined. You've fallen down the well. So, let's take another approach. How many people died on 9/11? About 3,000? Well, that's subjective. What if I told you that nobody died in those towers that day? The rest is all fake news. Changes the conversation quite a bit, no? You can say that this objectively happened, and that this subjectively happened, and that I'm objectively fucked in the head. That's not the point that I'm going after here. I could care less how many people you think died on 9/11, as I already have a rough estimate of the number. The point I'm trying to get across to you is about objectivity. We have to realize at some point, that facts are facts. And no amount of wishing or saying, "Well, that's subjective!" will make that go away. Your analogy is piss poor and you know it. You are comparing a tangible thing with a numerical value that can be measured (the number of people that died on 9/11) to something that is intangible which is the entertainment value of a video game which cannot be measured in a real tangible way without bias (and no assigning a review score to the game does not make it a tangible measurable thing). You are trying to impose your biased and subjective opinion as indisputable fact.

I've seen the term "SJW" misused so many times that any time someone does so unironically, it basically destroys that person's credibility for me. That is because some people's definition of "sjw" is as broad as the pacific ocean. I will probably get called one just for starting this thread and saying I don't see an "sjw conspiracy" in the game. To me an "sjw" is someone that takes it too far like Anita Sarkeesian. To them an "sjw" is anyone that doesn't get triggered over a little variety in the game.

SJW? Nope don't see it! Give your head a shake people. It's one thing to say that you don't care if it's there or even that you want it there. But to say you don't see it?!?! This is why people can't have honest conversations anymore. So is the universe sjw every time you walk outside? Because there are all sorts of folks out there. The world is just one giant sjw conspiracy against you.
