I'm stuck between choosing a Lord of Fortune or a Grey Warden. Can someone help me choose my background?  I am in the same pickle. Also can't decide between human and dwarf. I'm definitely playing a Dwarf for my second playthrough!

They keep mentioning Concord for some reason lol. Concord was a spectacular flop, but it's also a different game entirely. I have to wonder what will happen if it turns out that DAVe is a success, or at least that it sells in decent numbers - I already saw them questioning (more like: screaming about) EA revealing in shareholder memo that DAVe is holding within expectations as far as preorders go, going as far as accusing EA for creating fake preorders  I wouldn’t put it past them lol. But yeah those guys are trying to make Veilguard the next Concord without even understanding why it failed spectacularly. lol.

Don't people have their own opinions???? Although, that would explain the current complains all reading the same lately. That's the thing - people are entitled to their own opinions, but there's a suspicious amount of opinions that sound basically the same, or are taken verbatim from one source (like, I can trace it back to e.g. a certain Youtuber publishing a video and making a specific observation, only for comments to fill with that exact observation/criticism repeated ad nauseam) They keep mentioning Concord for some reason lol.

I will approach these choices as if this was the last Dragon Age game, because the overwhelming negativity towards Veilguard does make it seem that way. I'm going with a Qunari Grey Warden, since it might be my last chance to play as either of those. And a rogue, because apparently was written with one in mind. What overwhelming negativity? Besides a couple of vocal trolls, the reception to Veilguard is positive.

I see more: "DEI" or "political agenda" comments than anything. Thankfully they haven't started spamming "Sweet Baby Inc." yet... Too late, I've seen a couple of comments calling Veilguard a: Sweetbaby game.

I'm getting sick of the childish comments on every video and post about this game. "Too much purple!", "Eww, the graphics are ugly", "Why is the Pride demon missing its legs" and endless other comments that call it trash without actually elaborating. It's like hating on Bioware/Dragon Age is a meme at this point and they're just having fun with it. I see more: "DEI" or "political agenda" comments than anything.

Ubisofts CEO has been getting a lot of pushback from investors. Star Wars Outlaws falling below expected sales probably also prompted an immediate turnabout. The studio Shadows said the game is feature complete, but wants to continue polish. My guess. The studio and investors pressured the Publisher to delay the game.
Investors are unhappy and the latest AC does not reflect Japanese culture and the game/Ubisoft got a lot of backlash for it. This guy explains : https://youtu.be/HwhVyen2CPY

I suspect they decided to do a Steam release (more money there) and there wasn't enough time to cover all bases and requirements.
But the 2024 GOTY is now open for DAV.
Do you think Black Myth: Wukong can fight with DA:TV for it? That Soulsskin game? Doubtful, assuming that the game is good, I'd say Veilguards biggest contenders are FF7: Rebirth, Helldivers 2, and Stalker 2.

From dialogues I've seen with Bellara so far, I can't help being annoyed by her. I do hope it changes as I get to know her and maybe in context it's not so bad... But her cheerful lines in dark situations (e.g. conversations with Lucanis and Neve) is so out of place "Um, it's sorta kinda not so bad, I guess". Wtf girllll Hah! That's pretty funny lol.

I made the mistake of looking at the few comments and while some are surportive, some are just:  . Like I said Bioware is the next target in the eyes of certain groups of gamers. They are determined to call it a "woke and DEI" slopfest and hope that it fails so they can use it as evidence that "going woke is going broke."

So her superpower is basically plaigarism? Come to think of it, her schtick in Horror of Hormak was basically “take two things and mash them together to make something new,” so I guess she’s managed to weaponize her lack of creativity. Does this make Ghilly the fantasy equivalent of an AI artist? Truly a formidable foe!  Wait...wasn't there a two headed dragon in concept art? Ghil might take the two dragons and smash them together to get a super-dragon who is immune to both fire and cold damage? Yay. How the Dragons will be formed:

Mage combat looks boring. What else can it be with only 3 abilities. Really the number of abilities is quite superfilious. THis looks way better then Inquisition's mages given the mobility options involved. Better then just standing in place doing pew pews. I mean compared to previous games, the Mage combat looks excellent. The movement, the rapid cycling of spells is what's making really love it. Personally, I felt the mage gameplay in Inquisition was pretty boring where you stand in one place just shooting spells and occasionally casting barrier lol. Veilguard's Mage gameplay looks more involved.
