Hm, my list is a rather short one at the moment. In no particular order: - Warhammer 40,000 Mechanicus: Heretek
- Halo: Master Chief Collection
- Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2
- Cyberpunk 2077
Maybe: - Jedi: Fallen Order
- Baldur's Gate III
And I'll continue to play Warframe for the foreseeable future.

Hm, I'm not sure how keen I am about Keanu Reeves's character being an illusion in the protagonist's head.
Could be lame like Andromeda's SAM. Or it could be like the illusion of Elvis in True Romance, that would be really cool.

The longer I think about it the more I prefer this gameplay over the power fantasy trope, you don't have to become a godlike entity in every game to make it fun. This. I'd really love to start as Private Asshole and maybe end up as Sergeant Asshole instead of going from Big Special Cheese to Super Big Special Cheese To The Max.

But if they try and "monetize" any or all of the kind of things in the poll right out of the gate then what the heck am I paying $60 for? A game which, if fairly priced, would have cost you $120? Fairly priced as in "costs of development including potentially wasted time through mismanagement and bad leadership plus a generous cut for a suit listed on the top 100 overpaid CEOs" or as in "actual quality and entertainment value of the finished product"? I have no problem paying $120 for the latter. The former is someone else's problem.

Character models and animations are created with third party software like 3DSmax or Maya and then exported to whatever graphic engine a game is using, so the Ryder weird look has nothing to do with Frostbite itself. That's just how the artists made them. Scott Ryder's anatomy is especially bad. Just go to character creation and quickly switch between Scott and Sara a few times. You'll see that Scott is noticeably taller, but his lower legs are barely longer than Sara's and the height difference comes most from his overly drawn out torso, giving him the proportions of a scaled-up midget. Frostbite seems to have a tendency for glossyness. I noticed it very pronounced in DAI. Some call it 'plastic' look. To me it often appeared as if characters were sweating. DAI's lighting and surfaces were all over the place and changed depending on which map your character was on and where on that map he or she stood. A good test subject for this is the dracolisk mount, especially its teeth. Go to the crossroads in the Hinterlands and the teeth will look perfectly normal. They look slightly glossy when you look at it in the Skyhold stables, and on some maps they look like shiny polished plastic. I'd conclude that the problem are the maps and their lighting, not the model itself.

No freebies from fate please, I prefer my protagonists to earn their hero status without training wheels. This includes bloodlines, magic, artifacts, chosen one. Being ideologically opposed to Solas would probably qualify half the world or more for this job. Training and circumstance it is. Ideally, the training and circumstance happen in the game itself, i.e. we start out as just another mercenary/adventurer, pull off some quests (ideally through player skill) that most of our colleagues couldn't, and eventually stumble onto Solas's plot, and since no one else competent enough to fix it seems to be on the horizon (as per the standard situation in most BioWare stories) our protagonist sighs, shoulders his weapon and gets to work.

I think most level headed people are fine with seeing things in these trailers and then the game comes out and things are toned down. But this case was different. There was no game at this point, so how would anything have been captured in-game? This was basically someone telling the developers go make this.
This. There is a huge difference between the almost expected visual downgrades that happen between trailer and release: these are usually reduced lighting and shadow quality, reduced vegetation density, reduced particle effects and the like. The reasons for this are likely performance problems on one or more platforms, or in some rare cases, enforced platform parity (WatchDogs, for example). There's cinematic trailers, where the viewer knows that no actual gameplay is being shown. And then there's cases like Anthem's E3 2017 trailer, which was not made from the game itself despite explicitly stating so, but from a separate application that only existed as a source for that trailer and had no other purpose. The only other case like this I can remember was Alien: Colonial Marines, which also used an application to generate a trailer from that was completely separate from the actual game. Until Anthem's E3 2017 trailer came along and dethroned it, A:CM's trailer was the king of bullshots. But at least it didn't explicitly claim to have been recorded in-game.

Do you guys think that the murder knife only makes sense for a rogue? Would different class specific abilities and features like in Inquisition? Where Mages used Veilfire, Warriors could kick down walls and Rogues pick locks. But for a more dialogue based class specific events. Successful murder knife use should be based on a stat comparison instead of being automatically successful, like the attacker's speed/agility vs the target's reaction/alertness plus potential situational modifiers like surprise, already existing tension and distrust, etc. Depending on the difference, the murder knife attempt is elegantly successful, requires some struggle, is successfully defended against, or reversed against the attacker. Especially pissed off or treacherous NPCs should be able to attempt the same against the protagonist. Gives conversations some extra spice. Won't happen of course since it would require a game with meaningful stats.

Surely you don't think that the options of hanging up on the Council or slapping that reporter are defining aspects of Shepard's character and/or professionalism, right? In ME1 often shows disrespect to his superiors even Anderson... continually questioning his orders. He/she for example can tell Anderson that he/she doesn't want Ashley onboard the ship causing Anderson to respond that he's the one in command of the Normandy. He/she is completely disrespectful to Udina most of the time. For side quests on the Citadel, most of them involve Shepard sticking his no into matters that don't concern him. More often than not, there is some sort of belligerent response available, but there isn't always a diplomatic alternative. For example, there's no way to be understanding of Manuel... to really listen and sort out what he's saying (which is actually the truth and very intuitive). You only have the option to slug or ignore him after point blank in front of his face rudely asking his superior "What's wrong with your assistant?" In ME1, Shepard amounts to varying degrees of uncouth at best. Lapses in professionalism are far more frequent than "occasional." Mhm, I agree with you that any dialogue that does not allow for a diplomatic/professional response is an actual lapse in professionalism, but I barely remember any such occurrences. Shepard is made a Spectre early in the game, so he should be mostly within his rights to stick his nose where normal Alliance military shouldn't, and demand cooperation if need be. As far as Manuel is concerned, yes, his visions are pretty much the truth, but there's no way that anyone can know that at that point. As the player, we immediately suspect that there may be more to his ramblings than all the characters in the game give him credit for, but to them its understandably nonsense. Nonetheless, a kinder option would of course be welcomed. I think at least some of these problems come from BioWare seemingly struggling with writing good renegade options. Sometimes, they seem to think that "thug" or "being mean just because" is the same as "renegade", for example when punching the reporter instead of just giving her some snide response that expresses renegade Shepard's attitude of "whatever it takes". But overall, I still think that the MET established Shepard as an experienced professional (Sole Survivor / War Hero / Ruthless) and with very few exceptions, allowed me to play him as such.

Shepard is a professional who occasionally makes a joke.
Ryder is a joker who occasionally acts professional.
The quality and/or cringe factor of said jokes is, of course, a different matter altogether.

Congratulations on capturing the Teralyst! Trinity is also my first choice, especially if I go for the next bigger guy too because she's just best at nannying the lures. If I'm just going for the Teralyst, Oberon is a nice alternative that requires very little attention towards the lures, other than checking whether his Renewal is still on. I finally got around to killing the Exploiter Orb, and everything you said is pretty much spot on. It's quite a long fight, so much shorter in a group and way more pleasant than the constantly hectic Profit-Taker. The hardest part was probably the lack of objective markers - I ran around like an idiot the first time the game told me to "make condensed thermia". I've also played around with the Jovian Concord update. Wisp is a great new warframe with a ton of synergies going on. And her signature gun, the Fulmin, is one of my new favourite primaries. It is very versatile - it has two fire modes, a silenced (!) plasma shotgun with 3m enemy punch-through and a very accurate non-silenced full auto, plus a self-recharging magazine, making it useful under almost any circumstances. It is also a good weapon to use Heavy Caliber with since the full auto barely loses accuracy from it, if any. A nice touch is that the warframe actually removes or reattaches the silencer when switching fire modes, and when the silencer is removed, it is held in the left hand while the gun is leaning on that hand's wrist while aiming. Very fun gun.

So, are you saying that Anthem is still in BETA? I mean after all your asking the player base to do the testing for You? Myself I preordered the game I would not have done so if I knew I for the next ten years would have had to do your testing. Why would you even ask such a question? Are you a hater with an agenda? Post release public test servers are usually a different kind of testing that a normal QA beta test. Here, players test how new or changed game mechanics work, how new items and enemies are balanced, how well the updated game plays and how much fun it is. It is not, or at least should not be, about testing whether the wheels still fall off whenever you take a left turn. Some dev studios want lots of feedback from test server players, others prefer to just watch the telemetry data they're getting from it and adjust the features being tested accordingly. But either way it is basically a collaboration between developers and players to shape the future of a game when it's done right. It's a good thing to have them, because they are a kind of tangible proof that the devs want to do right by their player base.

You pick either Athens or Sparta as background, yes? No, you are Spartan by birth no matter what. You pick which sibling you want to play, that's it. You can fight for Sparta or Athens in any conquest battle, but this does not affect the storyline.

It should return?
Shepard's story is pretty much over, and any new story about the heroes of the trilogy would probably be rather anticlimactic. I'm fine with that. They've earned their rest. They've also earned being safe from the writing style of MEA. Also please don't disrespect the players that chose Refuse!
They could of course make an Andromeda sequel for those that liked MEA. I personally wouldn't be interested in it... others might appreciate it though, so why not. Maybe they'll surprise me, but there is an Iron Bull quote that comes to mind here.

My crew are elite Spartans and my lieutenants are all family. This is Sparta! Bringing peace to Greece, one ship at a time. And Alexios is at long last now free! With his family reunited, the cult dismantled and the gate of Atlantis shut down, he's free to faff about to his heart's content, check out the last unexplored corners of the map and do some light misthios work before having a look at all those DLC adventures.

Fan input? Heh. How many fans wanted them to make a loot-shooter for example?
They will make a game, with more or less "BioWare magic", and we'll decide whether it's worth our money or not. Like pretty much any other developer too.
If it's a good game, great! I'll happily buy and play it.
If it isn't - well, other studios make really good stuff too.

The Book of Unwritten Tales has excellent German VA. You can't go wrong with the German voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger for an orc chieftain... On topic: I finished the game last night. I suspected a supernatural angle early on due to the rats reacting so strongly to light and fire and I wasn't disappointed. Overall I really liked the atmosphere, the story and its endearing characters. Kudos to the (English) VAs for bringing them to life! Writing, graphics, sound and VA all combined to a wonderfully atmospheric whole. I also found it very refreshing that Amicia didn't turn from sheltered noble girl to remorseless killer within one chapter or some such. The boss fights seemed like a little jump in difficulty, especially the last third of the second one, where it took me quite a few attempts to get my positioning right. All in all a very enjoyable experience, and I'm planning to do a completionist playthrough soon.

I kinda neglected to post Alexios's progress for quite a while, so here goes.
- Alexios has been reunited with his dear family. The Adrestia is a family run business now. - All but two malakes cultists have been eliminated and their leader has been revealed. It was the person Alexios had suspected for a while now. - He's now a top tier misthios! The hell horse skin looks impressive, but I'm still going with "Spartan Renegade" for Phobos. Matches Alexios's "Spartan War Hero" look very nicely. - Turned out there was more to the tale of the Minotaur than just a funny dude with a cow's head. That Minotaur is history now. - All those legendary animals Artemis wanted dead have been hunted down now. Imagine the enthusiasm when the last one turned out to be a... farting pig. Alexios refused to kill Daphnae afterwards. Just because some crusty goddess supposedly made that rule? Fuck that shit. - Oh, and he's the king of the arena now, but has no desire to go back.
Now if he could only find that ostraka in the palace of Knossos...

I haven't watched any episode of season 8 because I had a nagging hunch that it would piss me off something fierce, especially the ending.
I've rarely felt so vindicated.

Kitguns are ridiculously powerful. I don't have a Tombfinger yet, but I do have a Rattleguts and a Catchmoon one, both with okay rivens that mostly balance out their weak points, making them more pleasant to use instead of even more powerful. The Rattleguts is a rapid fire weapon with a reasonable crit and status chance that's great for everything on the star map, and the Catchmoon is basically a one handed Arca Plasmor with unlimited punch-through through enemies and ridiculous damage output, though with limited range and projectile travel time. Both have a Pax Charge arcane so they don't need any ammo. I have yet to try the Exploiter Orb since I tend to do everything solo whenever possible. How hard is it compared to the Profit-Taker? I can manage that fight on my own, with some gritted teeth and muttered curses, but I only do it whenever I get a resource booster from the login rewards so I can pick up two toroids instead of one for my troubles. Congratulations on the Kuria statuette! Finally, I would heartily recommend the Larkspur archgun that came with Fortuna if you haven't tried it yet. I know archguns are not considered important equipment by many players, but now that they are required as heavy weapons for some boss fights and the upcoming Railjack update will feature some archwing action, getting a good archgun may be worth looking into. Before the Larkspur, I used the Imperator Vandal for everything, but the Larkspur is my new favourite. The primary fire is like a gigantic Atomos - limited range but jumps to other enemies over a good distance which makes obliterating big packs quick and easy, and the secondary fire launches a big energy projectile for longer distance work. Satellite defense has never been so easy.
