I will actually reunite them tonight for the first time ever in my first time ever Lavellan playthrough I appreciate the way Celene-Briala relationship has been written, the toxic power-play and the general unpredictability of it. Despite the tendency to assume that Celene is more manipulative than her elven partner, I suspect that Briala has learnt her lesson well and might eventually outplay Celene. Whether it would beneficial or not to the elves in Thedas, that's an entirely different question.

You are correct sir. He IS the best character in the DA series over all. Clear motivations, clear goals, clear tactics... He was awesome. Integrity is almost always sexy, regardless if one's a villain or a hero

I'm one of the weirdos who actually enjoy Hinterlands, because I appreciate the forest/mountains landscapes plus my favorite quests are set there.
For aesthetic reasons, I pick Emerald Graves and Crestwood. Crestwood also gets a thumbs-up for its quest line.
My least favorites are Western Approach and Hissing Wastes, because sand. Way too much sand.

Could it actually mean that Bioware is going to announce DA4 somewhere around these dates? (Fingers crossed...)

Yeah, that's just cruel. All in all, War Table Missions look like a project which was abandoned half-way through - some could actually remain the way they are, but other, such as the infamous "helping" Clan Lavellan, just beg for more development and Inky's personal involvement. This game seems to have a lot of cool ideas that were scratched at the end. I guess the directing should have been more focused. I agree, it does seem as if they had to scrap a lot, but I'm hoping Bio did actually draw some conclusions. The amount of fluff (such as War Table Missions) in what could have been a truly outstanding game is just baffling at times, really. I've played DAI more hours that I should admit to and yet, it still irks me.

Since I'm not a PC gamer I tried that trick once (disconnect the console from the internet and reset the clock) the problem is that when I reconnect the console back to the net (which automatically resets the clock) you get punished by having to wait 24 hours for any operation with all 3 characters. Yeah, that's just cruel. All in all, War Table Missions look like a project which was abandoned half-way through - some could actually remain the way they are, but other, such as the infamous "helping" Clan Lavellan, just beg for more development and Inky's personal involvement.

Ridiculously happy? I don't think I've ever been ridiculously happy in my life, so I'll just go for interested, cautiously interested, with a hint of intrigued Just hope I won't be forced to care about a character I don't care about at all just because they're my family. Still, that's often the case with family members, I guess ;-)

A tie between DA2 and DAI, with DA2 getting slight advantange because of the banter, which, imo, is the best in the entire series.

It was between Vivienne and Sera. But in the end, if I must choose between two intolerants, I will choose the more willingly ignorant of the two. Sera may be a product of her upbringing, but she is still a person that needs to grow up a bit before I can respect her fully like I do Vivienne who can at least back up her claims with something substantial even though I may not agree with it. This is exactly the reason I really enjoy these two I appreciate polarizing well-written characters, since they offer my character a challenge in the way s/he perceives the world - they don't change for Inky, because why should they? Why are they supposed to grow up, in Sera's case, for instance? Being somewhat bland (as I found, for instance, Blackwall to be) is a greater put-off for me than being annoying

As other people mentioned here that depends entirely on the character and his/her relationship with Solas. My benevolent Adaar chose redeem, but things will be different this time around with my next Adaar, who considers Solas to be a mystery. And she doesn't do mystery Having said that, I keep wondering what Solas would do if he were in my position. Would he kill or redeem my Inky, if her plan was to include mass annihilation in the name of, let's say, Qun? He does spare her life in Tresspasser, but I'm assuming that's because he doesn't really see her as a threat, or decides to act out of (rather twisted) compassion.

yeah, I think Aria's personality would be as rough as her appearance. But in the Omega DLC, when she kisses your Shepard, I thought that was a pretty sweet moment where she lets her wall down and basically said, "fuck it." I wish there was a DLC that adds Aria as a possible romance option. And in the DLC, you could just get to know her better and just be there for her... Hmm, I remember reading a fanfic a long time ago which focused on the complexity of Aria/Shep relationship. Lots of angst and tension, as I recall, because Aria simply refuses to change for anyone, paragon Shep included. And I'm all for Aria romance

Does anyone else feel the main quest is just waaaaay too short for the world they created in DAI? Yes. It felt to me that there was going to be more to the story when suddenly, "Corypheus is dead. Yay!" [credits roll]. There's so much fluff in the zones, not enough meat for the story. Fluff is the problem. For me it's not really about (over)levelling or the size of the world, it's just that I don't care about these quests. And I actually prefer the overwhelming feeling W3 sometimes gave me (and yeah, Novigrad section was, how can I put it, overwritten?) to the blandness I felt when exploring some of the zones in DAI.

I usually recruit everyone and then I simply forget about some of them. Awful, I know.
This is what happened with Cole and Blackwall, it's the matter of location in Skyhold, I guess. Poor Cole, btw, it's as if he didn't really need to pass his "forget-me-now" spell on me, I just did it on my own.

Hmm, can't really decide between DAO and DAI - in DAO we have origins which could be seen as potentially limiting (but it also adds a lot to the story), whereas in DAI the clean-slate (sort of) beginning lets me create my own background (which nevertheless has no real impact on the gameplay later on, unless you're an elf).
On the other hand, the dialogue options in DAO were more varied and I missed them a lot in DAI.

Really wanted to romance Aria because I love women with rough exteriors but soft personalities. I wanted bring her walls down and get to know who she was and maybe nibble a bit on her neck........ sorry mods... I hear you, although I kinda suspect that Aria's personality is anything but soft But that would actually make it an interesting affair - Shep is hoping that one day Aria will reveal her true self to him/her, only to discover that what you see is what you get.

I want hair, lots of hair, not x variants of baldness, as it was the case in DAI.
Plus face codes. But mostly hair.

I'd say Saren in ME1, later I'd go for Aria (though I agree, she's not really a villain) and Tela Vasir - these two would make a formidable team.
Morinth gets a (dis)honorable mention.

Haha, I had a similar experience with the dungeons in Skyhold. At one point I just stumbled there and went all "we have an ACTUAL dungeon here? Nice!" I went through 2 PTs where I couldn't find the way to the garden. So I teleported there every time. "Beam me up, Josie. I gotta check up on my elfroot"

If fantasy is really not your thing, stick to ME. But if you're willing to give DAO another try, go for dwarf commoner/city elf origins, the plight of the underdog theme is really well-played here. Also, it's your chance to show the middle finger to the high and mighty of Thedas
