Sorry to bring this back from the dead, But I heard that there was new info on relationships/ romances? I missed alot of the goings on on twitter and was wondering what was specifically said. Also, i have no idea how to get ahold of the Game informer mag, so if anyone could tell me that one, that woule be great too. Here is the points that specifically relates to it from Game Informer Details:
-There are more relationships in the game than any other Bioware game (as they noted fans make a big emphasis on romance in the games)
-Emphasis that relationships don't just culminate in a sex scene, but rather characters can just want to get in the sack, while others are interested in long term relationships and others still aren't interested at all. Bioware wanted to capture more "shooting bottles with Garrus" moments in the game, of which there are plenty.

Regardless of DAI setting the record, I find that *most* of the romances are neither compelling nor heartfelt. It was a bit better in Mass Effect, probably because we had 3 games with said LI, but almost all the relationships lack a deeper meaning to them. I hope that BW with Andromeda will make romances less 'shallow' and more thoughtful - for example, if one has been in a relationship as long as you were in Mass effect (like my FemShep was with Kaidan, no cheating, all three games) I would've loved to have them discuss children or even marriage, some foresight for the future. I got one line from Anders. One.
Not hating on it, I did like most of the characters in both series and I find that BW has good attention to detail, I just want deeper and more emotional romances w/ more content and with a touch more realism. I am certain they can deliver.

The actual record holder is SWTOR, which has 26 romances, not counting flings, across all of its storylines and expansions. But Bioware doesn't seem to count that game among the list when they say things like this, which is understandable. |

Yeah, and the Dragon Age devs at least have expressed an interest in possibly doing things like that, like having an asexual romance option. I'm certain they will have at least one of the romances be with a native race, most likely one of the friendly ones we are sure to encounter. |

Do anyone think they wrote a romance for an Andromeda native?I'm hoping they did: it'd be a neat way to learn about other parts of Andromedan culture like their version of flirting, courtship and gestures. There was this in the trilogy but I felt it was too little and that it got mostly replaced by culturally human interactions instead of being a mix of culturally human and culturally alien interactions. Basically, it felt like it took the alien out of the alien romance. I'd also adore the oppertunity for a star-crossed romance.
I'm also hoping that if they made one that they'd have made it an asexual romance or leave alternative ways of getting it on to the imagination because I don't think Milkies and Andromedan should be sexually compatible. It's the same with some of the Milky Way races.

Asexual romance could be with alien like Salarian who don't feel sexual attraction at all. Though that's probably not ideal for everyone, but that could be one of the options of romances without sex involved.
