Besides, Bioware isnt all progressive as people make them out to be. Why is it all their default heros have been white? Because it was their creator's vision.

No, it's still the default for many if not all companies. None has ever presented a black default. With many, you can create the character of your choosing, but the default is still white musle man. That's got less to do with vision than with market research.

Yes, you can claim "market research" all you want but that simply is not a factual statement. Shocking that people who have worked on a majority of these games were white to begin with so what a surprise that the main lead in their story happens to be white also. You may not like it but that doesn't make it any less true. Just the same if there was a game company that was predominantly black employed/produced I'd expect no less than a black protaganist... same if it were Asian/Indian and so forth. Quality is what matters not internal prejudice.

I would even be hard pressed to find any default female lead, outside of Lara croft. The reason for that is quite simple, actually. The majority of players are white males.

Recore, dishonored 2 (emily kaldwin), horizon zero dawn(Aloy), nier automata (2B)the newest uncharted (2 female protagonists), the last of us 2 (Ellie), tacoma, could maybe even argue injustice 2 since they're featuring Wonder Woman a lot. Female leads have really been picking up the last few years. Everything I listed is all just 2017 by the way, I could do more for 2016-2015 too.

Imagine my shock when I loaded that Big-in-Korea title, with the famous Korean video-game artist drawing all those important game characters... most of them white females. Added to it was user created characters that represented an Amazonian society with an obvious breast is best fetish. I call the experience my tour de force of wet dreams. I had a guild leader invite me to how off his avatar nekkid. He thought I was a shy boy or a gay for playing only males, lol. Real men prefer busty blondes, lol. The landscapes were distinctively Asian and the better costuming, the characters... no, not really. What I wanted was a Jade Empire 2 like experience.

If there were a default black protagonist, especially in an established franchise, racists would lose their absolute shit. Hunger Games couldn't even make a black Rue without this happening. How it would affect sales, not sure. Of course the research would say it would tank, and lots of butthurt white people wouldn't play it, but maybe it would get more media attention than others and pull more black or non-white players into that title or gaming in general.

Do you remember the shitstorm over Ryder? Just as there was the SJW bullshittery, there was an extra helping of anti white racism bollocks on the table. Just because some people felt default Ryder wasn't white enough. I mean, I don't know what they expected, since the default was white. Maybe some bloodless Nosferatu shade of white would have satisfied their needs.

Default Ryders were white, but they needed to patch more white in to make lighter custom presets. My custom Ryder was a little tan in some lighting but very white in others. Maybe she's vaguely multiracial, because it's like a zillion years into the future, but she can definitely "pass" as white. Lol.

Life is Strange has a default female lead and sold over 3 million copies, and it was from a relatively unknown developer. The market is out there.

If a game is great very few people care about the race or gender of a protagonist. No one cares that Aloy or Ellie are female. No one cares Uncharted next two leads are black and Indian females. No one cares that Franklin and CJ are black in GTA. And the reason is they are from what many consider great games.

I prefer creating my own character, so I just avoid the games with fixed protagonists. I would have tried HZD if it were available on PC, but I'd rather had an option to change the PC's looks, because I don't like either her look or her name. AC Origins Bayek is the first ever fixed protagonist that I saw and was like... "wow, I... want to play this guy, and I don't care that a few million people are also playing this very guy. He's just awesome." I imagine that's what people feel about other fixed protagonists, but I normally do not.

HZD is way more prettier, the main protagonist Aloy is also great. i really enjoyed the hell out of this game. The maps in HZD are way better than Andromedas not just in visuals but thye are way more interesting. Like inquisition had really fantastic interesting landscapes. Still i like andromeda more. its the tempest , the companions, its mass effect.

Obviously, millions that have PS4 can play it, but I am of the millions that do not. If they port it to PC, I'll give it a shot.
But I don't like the name, because it sounds like an alloy of a metal, and I don't like her looks. I also rarely like female voices for protagonists, and played males b/c of it a lot too. I have not heard Aloy's VA, because why, if I can't play the game... I like vistas in Andromeda more than in Inquisition, b/c they are more unusual. I do like the idea of shooting metal dinosaurs though by whatever reason. I dunno why. It just feels like fun. But then I was reading how you have to gather and craft, and a lot of finikie/busy/micromanaging mechanics, and how long the game is, so maybe it's for the best.

The crafting is a lot less cumbersome than Andromedas so I wouldn't write it off based on that. To be honest you probably think creating a matchstick by singlehandedly chopping down an entire Finnish forest with a penknife, using a handsander to get a speck of wood from each tree and then using the slow movement of the glacial rebound to compress it into a single match stick is a better crafting method than MEA, so I'd take that with a pinch of salt. And you probably think obtaining the pinch of salt by using a single desk lamp to evaporate all the water from the north sea is a less cumbersome crafting method than MEA.

Andromeda has some of the worst menu design in modern videogames. This is what makes it cumbersome.

PlayStation has the better exclusives at the moment compared to Xbox (and I'm an Xbox guy, although I do have a PS4 and gaming pc as well so I can't really miss out on any exclusives). Looks to be that way till at least next generation consoles cause crackdown is meh, halo is doomed, gears is rebuilding, mass effect is no longer exclusive to it, and it's pretty much 3rd party games that are interesting exclusive wise so they don't have big hitters triple A wise. i still need to finish HZD, awesome they've got the next expansion coming out before I beat it too.

According to you everything in this game is shit. Doesn't make it so.
