And where ´ s the fun in that? Hating and shitposting obviously makes certain people happy. I literally read posts from people who said they hate Andromeda despite the fact they never even played it ... I saw that too lol it's just more proof that actual ME fans are the minority to the majority of bandwagon jumpers. Yep. Because trolls just want to feel like special snowflakes who hate something (or someone) just because someone else told them to. But hey, who can blame them? They just want to socialize with other haters and trolls .

They sadly get roped in with the trolls.

I do think 5 years is too long for a direct sequel, but it's probably what it is going to be. If it's not a direct sequel and we have a new hero, maybe less important to be a bit quicker. IMHO. 5 years is just...a long time.

If Mass Effect gets picked up in the future it should definitely be in the Milky Way. Andromeda is done. Yes some people like it because everything in life will be liked by some people. But commercially, it's done. It can't recover from ME:A.
This is the same reason the exalted march DLC was cancelled and Hawke is a cameo. Hawke was meant to be DA's Shepard but he just wasn't successful enough.
Rogue One proves you can make something cool revisiting an old setting. I know Casey Hudson asked fans and everybody said they wanted a game set after the ME3 ending. But with Andromeda out, that doesn't apply anymore.

I know Casey Hudson asked fans and everybody said they wanted a game set after the ME3 ending. But with Andromeda out, that doesn't apply anymore. Excellent analogy. Ryder is the new Hawke - and this is the last we'll ever see of him/her. Seriously, I can't fathom how with all the hate and ridicule and memes aimed at Andromeda and Ryder that people actually think Bioware will subject themselves to more of that... especially when they just revealed another sci fi action adventure game. With Anthem being delayed again, it's showing at E3 was to save face and wipe the palette clean of Andromeda - like "hey everyone... don't worry, we can still make a great game!" Revisiting Andromeda just reopens old wounds and rips off the bandaid (or full body cast) that is Anthem.

The problem is it's making a large portion of fans unhappy... So it's not doing its job by that definition. A lot of the haters will leave for other games, impacting sales, impacting future DLC and sequels. And golly gee, look whats happening! Edmonton is working on Anthem - theyre looking at that franchise as a ten-year thing, like Destiny, so they won't make the next ME. Montreal has proven they can't, and Austin is working on other projects - who do you think is going to be making DLC and sequels? You mean the successful amount of money the game made that's pleased EA? Look I get it. You hate the game and want it to fail. I don't. We'll never agree on any of this, so I'm just gong to end this convo. yeah I agree I think it' s a case of we're not going to convince him and he's not going to convince us either so we'll just have to agree to disagree in this instance and just wait and see what happens. Because like you I think we'll at least see DLC for MEA or an MEA 2 in time it's just a matter of when. Because they can't leave MEA as it is there's just too many loose ends imo. They have to at the very least wrap those loose ends up somehow.

No it doesn't. That depends on the quality of the story and the player. MEA can also be played in a streamlined fashion but most people choose not to. You don't have to sacrifice one for the other, and people need to realize the old completely linear fashion of ME2 is dead nor does it fit in a space game about exploration We'll have to agree to disagree then. A really strong mystery plot leads the player through the clues and character relationships need to be built one event over another. Those things are impossible to write such that they can been encountered in any order without it affecting the strength of those elements. While lauded as the pinnacle of the industry, the story line in TW3 is, IMO, very weak and shallow, the main character development is weak and shallow... and the numerous side quests by and large disconnect the player from that main story. The books are the corner stone of that game... without them the story loses so much. The reason is the books are not "open." The author progresses the story in a logical fashion and develops all the characters outside of the game itself. I know I probably won't stop the trend towards these open games ((I'm not really trying to)... but mark my prediction (if you will)... the stories within them will just keep getting shallower and more disjointed... until all these games just basically resemble Minecraft (i.e. build your own game). I see your point and I've always just considered the more shallow story to be laziness on the developer. I feel like most of Ubisoft's mediocre open world games have tarnished the fact that you can't have a great story told in a vast open world. Then I go and play Horizon Zero Dawn and realize it is possible. That game weaves the mystery and side stories brilliantly without losing any quality from the open world. And yeah Witcher 3's main story was meh. What made that game great was the atmosphere and side stories. Red Dead Redemption was another game that was open world yet the story did not suffer in quality

Some people seem very sure that Anthem is going to be a big deal and do extremely well and usurp all the other IPs just because it looks pretty. It's way too early to predict either way how the market will respond, as we have a single 10 min MP trailer to judge. Maybe it will flop--or do worse than MEA did in sales/reviews.

They are on the Quarian Ark lol yeah it's a dead giveaway as Codemasters are using similar tricks to promote their next F1 game too. F1 2017 teasing all the classic cars that are going to be in the game this time round 1 at a time as they're bringing classics back this year. Last time they did that was back in 2013. Also this year they've added the possibility that you can play as a female driver this year as well which will be a first for the series. It's going to have a bit of an RPG feel about it as well apparently in career mode. They tried it a little bit in 2016 but it wasn't that sophisticated this yearapparently they've tried to make it bigger and better. Was thinking of creating a Sara Ryder on that and become an F1 world champ for a bit of a laugh when it comes out. Today they announced a couple of my favourite cars from years gone by so I'm looking forward to driving them again as they were in the 2013 game. It's annoying the hell out of people on Codemaster's forums too that tactic.

Well seeing as I didn't like DA2 or Inquisition (although it was a huge improvement), and seeing as they are different genres created by different teams, and seeing that DA4 hasn't even been announced, and for all we know may very well come out before Anthem with all of Anthems delays... Actually, what you wrote is just a horrible analogy altogether.
