Hmm ok. I didn't mean any offense.
I'm just trying to figure out what % more digital copies sold we could reasonably expect in an era when so much is done online, and companies like GameStop have seen a major decline in people visiting their brick and mortar stores. Since people in this thread keep pointing out to Sudo that we don't have digital sales numbers, which should be much greater if these trends apply.
Maybe it would be clearer if I changed #2 to "collectors and megafans" or something like that -- because that's pretty much what I meant. I love BioWare games enough to be here -- even enough to have read fanfic in the past, to own an N7 hoodie -- but I don't have a special box for their games or feel any sentimental need to have the actual object in my home. 

EA has agreed to it? When did that happen?

Ah, dammit, I can't find the article from last week I got that from. Alright, I do know that Mass Effect: Andromeda isn't on SAG-AFTRA's list of games that could be impacted by the strike. I can at least link that.

We'd probably need a lawyer who specializes in contract law to be able to answer that one reliably, but my gut says the game contract would also extend to DLC as well if it were written to include it. Being EA I can't see them overlooking that.

Voice Actor Strike - Updated June 9th

It shows that EA has not had any word with the union in months for they are holding out to get residuals. If they don't come back to the table and negotiate I don't think it will end anytime soon and developers will "look for other means". This could also be why they didn't go straight into production of a new game for they need to know if they are going to be able to have any returning characters or not.

It also mentions a cut-off date of development starting in February 2015, but I have no idea if that would also incorporate DLC.

I would goddamn like if 2017 went with smaller scale DLC but amp up again into big DLC/expansions through 2018 until Anthem.

I don't expect it AT ALL. But such a process sounds intriguing.

But since it was in a patch does in count in the contract as part of the original game, which is allowed by the strike, or as new work (such as DLC) which may or not be allowed.

Let's not make this about attacking Biofan's motivations and just address their arguments/points. 

Come to think of it, I noticed Polygon did not publish an article about MEA's DLC.
