BioWare Montreal absorbed by EA Motive. Mass Effect IP returns to Edmonton

There is no BioWare Corp. Hasn't been since EA bought them out.

This needs to be repeated. BioWare is actually EA Canada, they simply kept BioWare name for brand recognition. But in reality, BioWare is EA. Which also means BioWare Montreal is EA.

So….running for the hills canceled then. Why do you lie to me, internet?

That's interesting, while probably not surprising.

Noting's changed though... still playing the game... still enjoying playing the game... will continue to enjoy playing the game for some time to come.  If DLC happens at some point, I'll buy it.  If it doesn't, I have nothing to buy... will continue playing the game as it is... and, if necessary, writing a head canon/fan fiction tying up lose threads.  The depths of EA and Bioware's business is their business.  They do what it takes to stay in business.  The internet should really stay out of their board room and just admit it still just doesn't know anything for certain.

Regardless, gaming news journalists should find some actual news to report rather than blogging biased opinions and exaggerating the shit out of everything into various "the sky is falling" scenarios.  As long as fans "like" what they do... all we'll get are memes and opinionated blogs and word wars in the comments section.  They get clicks and money for a whole of non-news... and I just won't read anything they do anymore... too busy playing the actual games.

I"ve also decided to cut back my participation here... going to follow phoray through her text only playthrough and a few other threads... but no more of these "Bioware is doomed" threads... will leave EA's business to EA... keeps my blood pressure in check.  It's been fun talking about some things with some of the people here... not so much fun with others.  Have a good one.

First of all, this thread is a disgrace, the whole "I believe, you believe" thing is really annoying..

Second: Jorgensen should rather have not said anything at all. He couldn't have possibly mean more unclear if he tried. Way to make ominous statements man. Good job.

Thirdly: The really weird thing is that I just read a comment by a German games journalist, who says when he visited BW Montreal a year ago to get a preview of ME:A, they were already in the same building as Motive. So, what happened now? No one knows.

Fourthly: BW should just come out and tell us their DLC plans already. This is getting really tiresome. I'd enjoy some ME:A DLC if it's well made but if it's not, I'd rather know sooner rather than later. The one thing I hope we will not get is a crappy DLC made by some poor folks who already know that it's going to be their last project before getting fired or something. That would really be awful (but at this point, I wouldn't be surprised about anything anymore).
