People need to stop blaming fans for this mess

Good point. After the chaos died down and Bioware took some deserved lumps for a poor launch, more reasonable criticism took over, including talking about what people felt was good about the game. In the end screaming, gifs, memes and maladjusted social cripples are the compass EA chooses to orient themselves with. The game apparently turned an okay profit and they could have gotten some more money back with one dlc, or even more support for multiplayer. No one's career would end, no more shitbricks and perhaps they would learn from their mistakes with a future game set in Andromeda. Sadly, that doesnt seem to be the case. 

More than once, kneejerk reaction nerfs or other changes to gameplay in swtor were put in place based in part on metrics, also coinciding with the most vocal, histrionic and at best half-truthful screaming within the fan community. Over at Bethesda, many top modders don't want to post their mods anymore for xbox because people rampantly abuse the auto moderation system to get mods taken down either for personal reasons or some other petty grudge. These companies let the inmates run the asylum and the only it ends is when these companies just shut down the forum or service. The above are just a few examples and this mindset also spreads out to other entertainment media beyond games.
