EA /Bioware basically told us all to f*ck off

That article in Forbes is an embarrassment and has no place in a business focused magazine. It's an editorial at best, and a lame one at that.

The author writes:



Speculation. Conjecture. Opinion.

Give me facts.

More to the point, give me numbers. $$$. This is *Forbes* for goodness sake, not your personal soapbox.

Oh. I forgot. It's 2017. Actual journalism has been dead for a decade, at least.

The bolded part is contrary to Bioware's recently released statement. It seems pretty direct when it states...


Nothing in this statement makes me feel like the dlc was canceled due to poor reception. The fact is it never had dlc (in the traditional sense) planned from what we've seen or heard of so far.

You realize their recent post was damage control for the game's poor reception, right? Every BioWare game since KOTOR 1 (the only exception is JE) has had some sort of DLC content. If you are truly gullible enough to believe Andromeda was never planning to have story DLC (every Mass Effect game has had story DLC), that is your prerogative. Even the ending of Andromeda made it rather clear BioWare Montreal was hoping to do story DLC. That didn't happen, which is why the comics/novels were delayed in order to tell the story of the quarian ark instead.

They didn't. There was only the internet brigade smelling DLC hints in every wind blowing their way. They never said anything along the lines of something being worked on, other than ppatches. I'm not a fan of corporations, but if someone believed to read hints, it's on them and not on the company that did nothing other than publishing their usual noncommital PR nonsense.

You're right in one thing. The statement is bad in terms of damage control. And as I said before, there's actually no obvious reason why they published anything instead of just sitting it out.

It's not meant to be an insult. It's merely an observation for the simple fact that BioWare has offered DLC in their games since 2003. BioWare did not know they weren't going to do single player DLC. The game did not meet its "3 million units sold after a week" expectation, and bugs and glitches railroaded post-release content to be entirely focused on fixing the game. The game was a financial disappointment, which is why any single player DLC plans were scrapped.

I am just so so sad right now


Dragon Age 2 is one of my favorite games so I was hoping that we would get some really good sp-dlc to round out the game. I am one of those who really enjoyed ME:A. Oh well, that is how it goes. I played SWTOR late BETA, the game was great for me because I loved the original stories in the first chapters. Then they stopped with the original stories and that was it. Tried the newer content but it wasn't for me. I won't buy Anthem, I don't want to play multiplayer anymore.


Guess that leaves me Dragon Age and Sims 4.


I am really really sad, but at least I still have my games at home. I will continue to play

Feel so so silly right now but I actually have tears running down my face now. I really wanted to see more of Mass Effect Andromeda.

Haven't found any other game that gets to me like the BioWare games, I want my adventure with a love story and playing as a female character. We will see what is out there.

Iakus, you' ve been crying at bioware since mass effect 2, why do you do this to yourself? Go outside, it won't hurt you.

I will go out on a limb and do something I really didn't see myself saying. My gut instinct tells me that Casey Hudson is going to pull something out of his hat with ME down the road. Don't know why, exactly, but that's it.

I will stick to my guns on this one. I was not overly thrilled with MEA, but I suspect that Mr. Hudson's return and the timing of said return has something specifically to do with the future of the ME franchise. If I am incorrect, so be it, time will tell.

That you do not go outside. Really, you should do it, you may even meet these extrange creatures...I think they are called Women?
