I don't get why people thought the game was SJW overreach.

In every ME game the 2nd (or 3rd?) choice white skin was still unnaturally light in so many shots. My ME3 femShep looked healthy in the CC, and yet looks frighteningly undead, for ex, when Cortez is dropping us off somewhere. My Sara looked "white" in the CC and looked pretty normally "white" in most scenes, and in a some of the other scenes a bit tan. I remember people on the old BSN pointing out how unexpectedly pale Shep looked in many cutscenes and wonder if they were trying to remedy the Vampire Shepard cutscene problem.

I understood the asari outrage, as that was a retcon that neither made sense nor sounded any good. The OT had firmly established that asari use female pronouns, and Aria even said that the asari had no word for Patriarch in their language, while the use of 'father' in rare instances, to explain the parent that didn't birth an asari, appeared to be used purely as a means of making it easier for non-asari to understand. The idea of a monogendered female species identifying as male is absurd.

On the trans character Hainly, I didn't get the outcry for that either. I've had a few of trans friends over the years, at different stages of their transition, and there wasn't much that they wouldn't tell me about their former selves. Most probably because I was curious and friendly regarding it, and trying to understand what they were going through. So I found it a little difficult to understand the outcry, and when Ryder met the character ingame I thought it was a nice little addition. It was placed in the background and no big deal was made of it, just as it should be, no-one should be treated as special because they are different and she was treated like any other character. I liked that.

When the outcry came out I looked at it from the viewpoint of the setting. By the time of ME, trans people would've had nearly 200 years of being able to become the person that they are, I'd assume gender roles would have a different outlook after all that time, so I'd assume the culture and stigma would be either gone or lesser. Maybe in 200 years trans people will feel able to discuss the person they had to be before they had the chance to become the person they truly feel they are.

Well in fairness there was a poll recently which was overwhelmingly in favour of the SJW being a non-issue in MEA...so I think it's just the usual trolls looking for something to get angry about. Leave them to it.

The whole asari gender thing was always a confusing issue.

Well, it all started with Manveer Heir and BW taking too long to respond to it.
Then there was this "ugly females" and poor animations being blamed on 1 female animator/motion capture from EA.
Then not having whiter skin option in character creator similar to Cora's.
Then Hainly Abrams revealing old name.
Then the gender talk between Asari and Angara on Nexus.
Then "No bigots allowed" in conversation between Ryder and Jaal on Tempest.
Then making Jaal bisexual.

Have you changed your tac from trolling the whole game, which you didn't play, to SJW trolling?

It always made sense to me. Sex is physical while gender is psychological. Ergo, asari are female but do not have genders.
