I don't get why people thought the game was SJW overreach.

I promptly put anyone saying "BECAUSE OF THE SJWs!" in the People To Ignore folder and I suggest anyone else still sane to do the same. It'd be better to excise such stupidity out from your life and not to give them any thoughts whatsoever.

I disagree, people should be free to worry about whether SJW agenda's are getting in the way of gaming. Most of their comments regarding ME:A are bollocks, especially things like making Sara Ryder "ugly" or having no really white preset (which seemed more like an omission than some kind of conspiracy), but there are one or two grains of truth. The asari male pronoun section of Andromeda clearly was a line that felt SJW, whether it was or not is not the point, it -felt- that way and it went against established lore, which shouldn't happen to justify real world social issues, as an asari is both fictional and not human so shouldn't be held to the same standards.

I'm anti-SJW, not because I disagree with them (as I believe fully in treating everyone equal, but to me, that means treating everyone the same and not treating anyone as a special case) but I disagree with their heavy-handed tactics that can result in people losing their jobs, that they are erroding free speech yet often claim to be liberal and their 'outcries' that tend to be a result of them having too much time on their hands, being online too much and not actually interacting with real people, and often because many of them have very very thin skin (not literally thin skin, in case someone gets upset, I'm meaning they are incapable of shrugging off peoples words).

I mean, the whole SJW thing is framed as one of the major reasons why the game is perceived by many as a failure. Not the glitches, not the subpar animation, not weak writing, not the whole technical mess, but rather the game failed because the characters are not "white enough." 

That doesn't sound really silly to you? Especially since DA:I was a massive success and we have not only people of color as members of the main party in it. the whole bisexual/gay thing was even more prevalent in that game than in ME:A.

Well, it's not like I "discouraged them from thinking", but I just disagree with the thought of "all the conclusions from all kind of thinking should be held equally" because, some thinking are just more dumb than the other and it's such a waste of brain cells trying to entertain them in our thoughts. I am not preventing anyone from thinking stupid thoughts, good on them, it's just that I chose not to let their stupid thoughts wasting my time.

Also Jaal bi patch and like 2 changes for Hainly Abrams. Because priorities.

But like, it's not even safe to talk about it because butthurt levels get way to high, way too quick.

To be honest I don't care if the games are SJW or not. I am just sick of people using SJW as an excuse to hate on bioware games.

Sometimes the stars align.

The original trilogy was pure pulp. Men's magazines scifi. Strippers, casual sex, hot outfits for the females. It all added to a big, exotic advanture out in the stars where anything seemed possible. ME:A didn't even have strippers.

We're all entitled to our views.

It is sufficient to share if we think the game is good, bad or indifferent.

It's becoming mightily tiresome to be in the firing line of folk who are trying to browbeat others to change their opinions.

I did try. The presets I tried didn't have the option. Not all the presets had the option at the time. I'm not going to waste my time going through all of them when I'm excited to start what I expect is going to be an amazing Mass Effect game.

I'm not sure which part of this you don't understand.
