Then I simply remembered wrong. But really - was he really uninjured before that? :-)
His uniform and cap are both spotless. He says he followed Shepard up, but Shepard didn't go up the beam until after Sovereign Harbinger flew away. (And yet for some reason nobody else went up the beam even though the way at that point was clear. )
I agree, it was Shepard's gun that killed him... shot to the gut, no medi-gel and bled out. I always thought that he was somewhat injured though... His voice over the coms to Shepard is not exactly that of someone who is not hurting at all in some way. Also, his body posture and movement before TIM walks in and exerts his influence is not exactly spry.

I think TIM had Anderson in puppet mode from the moment the comm went dead. He also could have whacked him upside the head with his new magical powers. Though where he (TIM) hid between the time that happened and Shepard made it to the platform is another mystery for the ages.

If she can use her biotic melee abilities, Alex Ryder would win over Korynn Shepard hands down. If no biotics, Korynn wins, but I think it would be a closer fight than either of them would like to admit.
Edit: If they are allowed a tag-team buddy...it would be Liara vs Keri, which I would pay money to see.

The real question is. Who would win in a fistfight: Shepard, Ryder or Doomslayer? My money is on Doomslayer. I've also got an idea. Fist Fight: Commander Shepard Vs. Guts from Berserk. (Leaving out the berserker armor) My vote: Guts, dude got hit by a demon flying a supersonic speeds and still kicked it's ass. Here's a big question: Who would win in a fistfight: Shepard and Ryder (with 4 of their team members) VS. The Master Chief (and the members of Blue Team)

Shepard: Depending if he is a biotic, he will get implants to enhance his biotic thus a cyborg. In ME2 and ME3, He has more cybernetics in his system regardless of class. Between Cerberus, N7 Training, Spectre Training, He has extensive training and cybernetic upgrades. Due to Cerberus cybernetics, Shepard could become a a biotic if he wanted too. Also Combat Experience does help a great deal.
Ryder has S.A.M.(counts cybernetics thus making Ryder a cyborg as well) but lacks the extensive training and combat experience that Shepard.
Shepard should win easily.

The real question is. Who would win in a fistfight: Shepard, Ryder or Doomslayer? My money is on Doomslayer. The real question is: Can we track down the people who voted for Ryder?
And when we arrest them, do we execute them for heresy or do we execute them for intolerable stupidity?
I know of A Cerberus Test Lab. Cerberus is always looking for extra bodies for Science.

You could certainly headcanonize that if you chose a biotic class in ME2 after rolling a soldier, engineer or infiltrator in ME1 though.

Damn, this poll is really neck and neck. It's far too close if you ask me. And there is no sarcasm in that statement whatsoever.

Who needs experience when you can just plug it in?

Matrix-ing like Ryder to learn any muscle oriented skill like Martial Arts and Hand to Hand Combat will take 3-4 years of dedicated years with a good instructor. And a good decade to mastering. Also Even learning Weapons like guns at high levels can take awhile and themikefest knows guns and military training better than I do. Side note: there are several unbelievable things I find within Mass Effect and that is a post for a different thread.

They're both murder machines that can lay waste to fuck-tons of enemies that would normally stomp over whole armies. This reminds me of those shitty Hawke vs. Warden threads. People can say what they want, but Hawke was a goddamn human blender that let the streets of Kirkwall run red with everything.

Ryder, some rookie dweeb whose last assignment was staring out of a window into space or a research assistant vs. the greatest of the N7's, and most famous SPECTRE, who was a total badass BEFORE being upgraded into a super human cyborg and becoming Space Jesus. You think SAM can make up the difference? LOL!! Wait.. wait... you're serious....

What's your evidence for this? (Besides wanting to believe it, of course.) I have training in the martial arts. So Ryder instantly mastering Hand to Hand Combat or any martial arts is more of an unbelievable aspect to him similar how Neo learned the martial arts within the Matrix. Cybernetics can help out any martial artist and soldier in overall performance but to become good at any skill including martial arts, H2H Combat and overall military training, will take awhile. I am not saying that Ryder is not a good soldier, Just Shepard is miles above Ryder in both Hand to Hand Combat and overall military training and experience. In Short, N7 Soldier of Shepard's caliber is in the real world is an experienced Elite Special Forces Soldier.

In Short, N7 Soldier of Shepard's caliber is in the real world is an experienced Elite Special Forces Soldier. In the Matrix it's believable because it's not his actual muscle memory. It's not his actual body. Outside the Matrix he knows nothing he didn't learn the old fashion way.
SAM or no SAM a human body has limits. In Andromeda it's Ryder's actual body and motor reflexes. If his body isn't properly prepared he would probably hurt and/or over exert himself. Unless SAM is a sorcerer using magic, controlling the bodies endorphins, regulating heartbeat, etc. isn't going to change that. Overtaxing his body to compensate will just lead to long term illness.
Shepard is like the girl from Ghost in the Shell, the guy from Terminator Salvation or Darth Vader. Does Ryder even have cybernetics to the extent that he would be classify as a cyborg?

Counterpoint: AGAIN, played right, Ryder can melee kill an Architect.
Shepard's available melee kills are comparatively wimpy. And the question IS fist fight. The newb may be a longshot, but she's not out of the running.

Never finished ME:A as I value my time and sanity too much but I might have finished it if I'd known I could see Ryder kill an architect with his bare hands! No omni-tool, asari sword or krogan hammer, just bare hands against a 100m machine. That would be a sight to see.

Anything Ryder can do Shepard can do better. Therefore, Shepard can stare an Architect to death.
Let the absurdities begin.

Man, Shepard can't even punch the Rannoch Reaper. The best thing vanguard Shepard can punch is a harvester. Very depressing... Though I suppose one could argue Shepard is just too sensible to punch huge things. Ryder, in the meantime, can charge (assuming you took vanguard profile and honestly why wouldn't you) right up the Harvester's laser eye... and punch it. YEAH.
