If you were obscenely rich and had obtained the rights to the Mass Effect franchise what would you d

first, i'd like to note i didn't feel like reading 13 pages of text, so i just skimmed the first page... so forgive me if i rehash something.



now, what would i do with mass effect if i had unlimited resources? (btw this is all imho)

well, first thing i'd do is a complete overhaul of the original trilogy. specifically, giving their graphics & gameplay an overhaul. i'd change mass effect 2's plot to make it relevant to the overall story ark of the series, i would turn it into more of a spy thriller, not really but somewhat... something along the lines of, indoctrinated batarians with reaper tech start a war with the systems alliance, reaper sleeper agents try to destabilize governments galaxy wide, and shep is injured/crippled during a batarian terrorist attack on the citadel at the onset of the fighting, and given a medical discharge, and then goes through experimental cybernetic reconstruction, to restore his/her functionality (not create a space-god cult) at which point shepard is contractually obligated to work for the PMC that paid for it, and after a few years the batarian conflicts starts to really explode. (edit) Said PMC would be the new and improved Cerberus, banking on shepard’s ex-first human spectre status to devastating effect. Shep will handle selections of small trouble-shooting ops (which take place over around 2 years ingame time) , geth attacking research outposts, or batarians attacking medical facilities and the like, while also adding to the crew roster along the way. At this point in time transportation is handled by shuttles or small independent freighters, and now Cerberus (thanks to you) has managed to dig it’s claws into massive companies across several industries and slowly “corrupt” them, and begins siphoning off resources, tech, and influence to fuel their rebuilding after you trounced them in the first game. Once you become familiar with the moving parts of this organization, and are befriended by the core members of your team, there comes the reveal mid game, you’ve been working for the new Cerberus this whole time, at which point you’re given command of the newly minted Normandy SR-2, and you and Cerberus turns your full attention to the indoctrinated batarian war machine (/edit)



then i'd rewrite mass effect 3 to incorporate my changes with other plot adaptions and i'd completely redo the ending. and i'd give the original saga a proper ending with a fourth title, as i feel to properly conclude the series it needed at least one more entry, as to me it seemed ME3's pacing was off, and the plot to difficult to finish in a single game. to end to the reaper war properly, you need to give it more time all on it's own. and honestly, if you made the right calls and put the effort into it i still think shepard should survive with a DA:O style ending. a proper shepard send off as we're ending the tale here. oh, and more fighting reapers, not cerberus. (that was in my opinion simply idiotic on BWs part)

(edit) and Cerberus and TIM never go bats**t crazy, and you have to decide… stick with Cerberus, rejoin the alliance, convince everyone to get along, or go your own route independently of all factions. Now I have actually put a lot of thought in to this stuff as just an intellectual exercise but there’s just to much here for a simple edit, and to top it off i've had to rewrite this repeatedly and i am rather sick of writing(/edit)



then i'd start remaking andormeda... i'd remove the whole kett race, add real factions to the angara, expand the settlements into an actual gameplay mechanic, one that revolves around various buildings that are constructable providing certain advantages & hazards, with planets also offering unique potential benefits and challenges. the plot would revolve around the initiative evolving into an imperialistic force or not, based on player actions. alec wouldn't die in the opening mission, but someplace in the middle of the game, after the pc has interacted with him a bit, and you as a player start to get attached to that character in one way or another. the other sibling isn't comatose the whole game, but is a squad member that becomes your polar opposite class-wise, or as close to it as possible.

the plots true enemy would be a space based roman empire like faction, that are not reskinned reapers... they symbolically absorb other races & cultures into their empire and stamp out their cultural identity, not physically change all races into them. like i said i've had enough of the reapers, give us something new to kill. and more planets to explore, and races to find.

Minimum of 4-5 different collector's editions available for the collectors including hoodies, T-shirts, steel books, hardcover 500+ page A4 art books and more.

Start buying them shares.

I don't mind playing a Drell or any species as long as it is not Alliance similar to how we gotten to play as Shepard. Cerberus, C-Sec, Mercenary, or other factions allows for humans that is outside of System Alliance would be a nice change of pace.

Side note: I will happily vote for an Alien PC poll if someone post one. Same with Non-Alliance Factions regardless if it is con current or Post Shepard, any species as well.

It will be Interesting to roleplay as a Batarian Blue Sun Merc for a Trilogy.
