Sorry OP, but I'm unable to lay down my arms, as I never took them up in the first place. 10/10 for intention, 1/10 for effectiveness. On the whole, I think the mods are doing a pretty balanced job. If anything, I think they let the permathreads of repetitive saltiness go on a little too long, but that's mostly a matter of taste. And things can certainly be worse. Remember BioWareMod02 and the ban hammer?

If anything, I think they let the permathreads of repetitive saltiness go on a little too long, but that's mostly a matter of taste. And things can certainly be worse. Remember BioWareMod02 and the ban hammer? It’s not about the mods. It’s never been about our mods. It’s about individuals. Can we each try being slightly less caustic with one another? Can we each try being a bit less thin-skinned? (Can we not devolve into the same handful of tired arguments in every thread, regardless of relevance? ) Many people have not “taken up arms”, or developed a combative posting style. A large number have, though. I am hoping to promote some discussion, and maybe most optimistically, a bit of introspection. I’m glad some are supportive, even if doubtful, of the goal. Even if only some think of this in the near future, it might deny fuel to some of the silly fires always raging. EDIT: so many typos

How did this thread make a left turn from "Time to lay down arms" into the same 'ol same 'ol discussion of the ME3 ending and EA conspiracies? It looks like the OP's topic has run its course already, starting about mid-way down this page. I rub my eyes when this happens in every thread. The evolution of nearly all discussions. Good question especially as the thread was designed to try to stop this.

ME3 endings didn't have anything to do with ME's death. It was a major clusterfuck and it's impossible to deny it somewhat tainted the trilogy, even after the extended cut. But it's also impossible to deny that ME3 was a comercial success and very well received by the critics. And indeed, it's an outstanding game, even in the close aftermath after its released this was acknowledge. Comments like the game is awesome except for the last 10 minutes were quite common. Morover, the Citadel DLC might not have removed the already mantioned taint the endings left, but it did closed the trilogy on a very high note. At that moment, Andromeda had everything it needed for success, it was only up to it. It was not ME3 fault that virtually every major decision surrounding that game was a bad one. The concept of going to Andromeda isn't a bad one, but the justification was awful. And everything that followed it was terrible. ME3 has as much fault in this as the Big Bang. To be honest not many fans agreed with the critics, accusing them to be paid off by EA. There was that controversy with having a games reviewer voicing a character. Even though there are some who said the game was fine until the ending, there were many others who disliked the railroading, weak villains and the constant auto dialogue from Shepard. I never agreed with that sentiment regarding ME3. I thought the Jessica Chobot situation was way overblown I truly had no issue with her though I know I’m in the minority. The auto dialogue was a tad annoying as I’d have liked a bit more input in some situations but overall it wasn’t a deal breaker. The on rails segments made sense given what was going on and weak villains? First I’ve seen that. To me the main issue with the ending was people expected a happy outcome. You know Blue babies and such but I fully expected Shepard wouldn’t survive from day one. The endings themselves were fine and the only issue I had was the endings were obviously rushed. The EC and dlc resolves any issues I had. However fan reaction was very mixed. IMO a lot was overblown in that case as well.

I think part of the problem is two fold:
Number 1: I think people let their egos and feelings get in the way over a simple disagreement which, in most cases, then blows things way out of proportion.
Number 2: I think a lot of these debates may look a lot worse from the outside. There should be nothing wrong with passionate debate and conversation, and except a very small handful of posters I really enjoy talking about MEAs merits and flaws with a lot of people. Just those few people tend to insert themselves in every conversation and debate to try and get under everyone's skins.

That's my view. There will always be things we don't like, whether online or in real life. I try to react and handle the online stuff with the same respect and restraint with which I'd handle things in person. In my experience, that leads to the best outcome for all here in this shared space. I'm not trying to sound patronizing or preachy, and I hope it doesn't come across that way. I'm being sincere.

Agreed even before ME3 came out I knew it was going to be a kind of Shepard sacrifices him/herself to save the galaxy kind of ending and it was. So it was never really a surprise to actually see it happen tbh. They aimed to tell a 3 game story and imo they did a pretty awesome job endings aside. Yes the endings were a little weak but to me they made sense with what was going on so as far as I was concerned I was happy enough to accept it.

The EC made the endings better though imo and no way in hell would I ever use this. It’s a mod for pc called MEHEM (Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod.) it completely destroys the ending imo. www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/66/?

Well said, OP, well said It's the internet. You will always have people who will bitch and troll anyone who doesn't agree with them. You know, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and you'll always have people who debate over everything. Andromeda wasn't the worst game I've ever played and it wasn't the best either but I'm willing to give it a chance because ME is my absolutely favorite video game franchise. I guess people had so high hope for that game that the disappointment hit them harder than it should and some are probably still angry because of ME3's endings. I'll admit, I'm euqally guilty of this sometimes but thankfully it's not the case with any BW game (I'm looking at you Resident Evil ), so yeah....there you go

Hair mods and things like that yeah if I could get them to work but then I've never been able to get mods working anyway on ME. I've had success with the DA games just not with the ME ones.

So, did anyone play Witcher III? Yes, and stopped after 8 to 12 hours because of various reasons but mainly: boredom in generic fantasy and wooden game... Hope they make Cyberpunk better, but the setting is already better for me.

The baiting needs to stop. That is not posting in good faith, which is one of the forum rules.
Name-calling also needs to stop.
Offending posts are being swept away momentarily and inflammatory parties being PMed.
