Folks, The baiting needs to stop. That is not posting in good faith, which is one of the forum rules. Name-calling also needs to stop. Offending posts are being swept away momentarily and inflammatory parties being PMed. [snip] NVM, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I guess anything not remotely positive about Bioware/Andromeda comes across as inflammatory or baiting. So my question is, what is an example of something negative/negatively humoerous about MEA/Bioware that CAN be posted here without being claimed as inflammatory or baiting? Or are we just going to get to the point where this place is only an echo chamber where anything remotely negative about Bioware or its games gets people sensitive and upset? Just my question.

What isn't all that reasonable is the pervasive failure to listen amongst our community. Unfortunately it's to be expected. The internet and message boards are a new phenomenon. As things evolve, tools will be put in place to carve away the hostility, shouting, rudeness and disruptive behaviors enabled by anonymity. Tools will be necessary and are inevitable, humanity has demonstrated over history that along with its selfish nature it also has in its nature the need and will to "get along". Manners, niceties, politeness will find their ways into these new forms of communication and social interaction. Until those tools are in place, the internet will continue to be the Wild West.

If we wanted to create an 'echo chamber', why would we permit users such as yourself to still be here? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether it be negative, positive or somewhere in between. What is not welcome though are those who spam a particular viewpoint constantly with the sole intention of only provoking others. If a member spams an opinion needlessly only to cause harm or incite negative reactions, I would consider that to be posting in bad faith with actionable consequences as detailed in our site rules and expectations.... Mmmkay??

Was that intended as an apology? Without the quote, I never would have guessed it. Even though your questions are rhetorical, I’m going to answer anyway. The thread/poll about the one thing you’d replace in MEA has some rather good constructive criticism. Check it out. I personally think setting MEA in Andromeda was a mistake, or more precisely, rehashing a bunch of Bioware’s tropes (e.g., exaltation = indoctrination = the blight) in a discount location was a mistake, but, a) I don’t seem to offend anyone when I post that opinion, maybe because I don’t mind if people disagree? and I enjoyed my playthrough of MEA in its own merits, spent over 100 enjoyable hours with my Sis Ryder. The game, post final patch, suffers mainly in comparison. When I stop comparing, I enjoy what it has to offer.

Even though I like it I accept there are a few that don't and I'm fine with it. It's more that some seem to like to force it down our throats and rub it in and it justgets tiresome and repetitive after a while. For me I think that's what's been leading to the arguments as people are tired of going round in circles over it.

At least the mods here are on point. It didn’t go too far afield. Yes, our mods are great. You’re new, so you may not know that they’re all forum members from the old BSN who stepped up and volunteered. None of them wanted to see our community scattered to the winds, so they took on the work to maintain it. Pretty cool. It took a lot of work to get the community, functionality and visibility to where we are today. Thanks, ladies and gents.

I’d made the connection. I never interacted with @hybrid, though I saw he or she had been active. If there’s a story, I’m not familiar. @dextro has made a positive impression, thus far, so I’ll assume the best. With so many leaving and returning, I’m surprised we don’t see more name changes.

Things are way more chill in the Inquisition sub fwiw.
I could tell you that I'd think the antagonism is temporary but it's probably not. ME ended on a bum note and it ended there rather abruptly, so people are gonna pull each other's hair indefinitely trying to sort out and assert how they feel about something that is not gonna receive any kind of official, satisfying closure for the foreseeable future. Or until they run out of steam in a year or three, though there'll always be the people who act like Bioware murdered their family (coughme3endingcough).
