I for one am very much looking forward to Forsaken, and looking forward to being able to be a total bastard one-hit killing people with shoulder charge (again). Did all my armor mods, the ones I spent endless hours collecting and configuring into different armor sets, just get dumped for random perks? lol! Honestly, I’m glad. Having no random rolls made the looter aspect burn out quickly, especially when it came to guns. The new weapon system and the random roll of perks makes it much more enjoyable, especially when you get perks stacked together that make a weapon especially deadly (like under pressure and zen moment, or rampage). |

Destiny 2 is definitely missing the wonder of, dunno, expansion from the original.... Well, in fairness that wonder sort of dissipated not long after the intro cinematic. Heck the Speaker teased us about the great battle long ago. Speaking of expansion, I think that this one is much better than D1's Taken King. |

But... but... I had specific armor sets to boost each of my energy classes! Heck, I had sets to boost playstyles (weapons, abilities) within each class! Granted, they never seemed to matter much, and I kinda forgot (got confused) about which was which, but they were mine damnit! |

But there was the codex, which was fun to uncover. I still haven't been through Warmind completely, and some of the stuff I'm finding in Clovis Bray (BrayTech?) facility is pretty interesting. I liked that we found the origin of the Exos, and a pretty good explanation for Banshee-44's dementia. |

Everyone’s after the Redrix’s Broadsword, which requires pulse rifle final blows as its first step. Ah here I thought they'd taken over Scout Rifles because I rarely see those any more, it's Pulse Rifles, Bows and Hand Cannons. Yeah everyone and their grandma are using hand cannons in Gambit trying to get the Ace of Spades, and I'm using my Ace of Spades to stop them. I don't even see the Jade Rabbit anymore, because bows can outdo them, especially anyone who has bows with Archer's Tempo. But pulse rifles probably have the strongest archetypes right now. The Go Figure and Right Side of Wrong gets seriously good rolls to accompany its 4-round burst. But I will say, there's no greater joy than hitting people in the face with my Trinity Ghoul and watching an arc blast tear into nearby Guardians. |

Yeah I’ve become a bow fanatic. I have two with archer’s tempo + dragonfly and explosive heads + rampage and they’re both killers in PvE and PvP. I don’t even use my Pleiades Corrector anymore, and even dismantled it for the masterwork core. The Trinity Ghoul is also tons of fun, if RNGesus finally decides to give it to you. I think my favorite part is just how far off they go with little to no damage drop-off. I’ve done Gambit invasions where I can basically sit way back and pick off Guardians one by one. |

If you can get Claws of the Wolf or the Bygones you’re pretty much set for all the pulse rifles you need. Both are super powerful. The Trust is probably one of the best legendary hand cannons short of the Luna’s Howl. |

- Black Armory comes with a Horde mode where the more you survive, the better the loot you can get As always, take it with a grain of salt. Now if Black Armory brings back The Last Word, I'll be a happy Destiny player. I miss that fucking gun so much

So how does Destiny 2 now rate compared to Destiny? I played Destiny up to level 40, though I'm uncertain whether I reached the end of the game or not, that was rather unclear. Is Destiny 2 now worth getting if they drop a 'single edition' with everything in it?  |

I say Destiny 2 beats out the original. Though I really did not play the original much at all.
Destiny 2 took out many of the frustrating elements (LOOKING AT YOU, CRYPTARCH!) and actually has a story. It's not Shakespeare, but it's enough to make it seem like more than interchangeable enemies. At least with the Red Legion.
The only crappy thing is that you do not get the Sparrow (the fast,unarmed, ground point A to point to B vehicle) until you finish the main story, and until then you have to walk everywhere.
If you grab the Destiny 2 base game for free through the Blizzard launcher, no harm in that.
