Anthem Next/2.0 Incoming Soon (TM)

I wish they'd get rid of the online only aspect of this game.

And then what? Have a loot-based game like Borderlands in which you can just basically edit in anything you like without much problem? Loot has to be controlled server-side, otherwise the grinding for it to optimize builds is just totally pointless. I think they should and hope they will finally add the option so that everything can be played solo in private sessions. But getting rid of the online aspect doesn't make any sense at all for this game and is probably not something they will do. They couldn't even do events and daily challenges and stuff like that without connection to the servers. And it's not like this game shines with its characters, story and dialogue to make it a singleplayer game. 

To be fair, it being an online looter shooter and having shallow characters seems to be part and parcel anyway. Just look at Destiny. Borderlands tries a little, but they're annoying as fuck, particularly the twins in 3.

Anyone see this stuff that popped up on reddit recently?

What's this all about?  Is it a new game/IP or is it something to do with ANTHEM in some way?

From what I was reading, it's another faction added to Anthem 2.0, plus some more items and weapon types etc...

It's a whole rework of the game itself, I think.

Gear and loot changes are apparently going to be discussed soon in Bioware's blog, Dailey confirmed on Twitter that the UI is getting a rework, there's that new faction above, and there's also an image of a skull-shaped mountain where these pirates hang out.

Needless to say, even though I'm not big on Anthem, the changes being discussed have piqued my interest.

But why do you (and some other people) want a game that was never meant to be anything like DA or ME still become just that? There are so man good single player and storydriven games available. Wishing for Anthem, which is clearly an online loot-based game, to become something that it simply never really wanted to be... is kinda like my playing The Witcher and then hoping they remove story elements and add multiplayer deathmatch so I can compete online. If there actually was a solid base for a good RPG in Anthem I could understand your point of view better I think. But they'd basically have to make a a completely new game, not just overhaul some core mechanics. Removing online features won't do this game any good at all because the online part is actually what makes it worth playing, because the rest clearly is not. They'd have to write new stories and characters and dialogue and all that... they might as well just make another Mass Effect instead (a good one this time though hopefully). 

Which Storm build?  Binary Sun?
