Exactly. The Crows are suppose to be decadent professionals; the kind that would butcher an entire royal family and then have a three day orgy while their blades were still stained with blood. Now they are wholesome chungus who drink coffee and defend the weak. Just awful…. And all the child slavery and stuff that happened also Aye, they were completely sanitised and painfully impotent.

I think not allowing us to import our keeps was a mistake, because it makes all the Solas stuff feel hallow. Why would I care about them interacting with my Inquisitor when I can't really import my Inquisitor into the game because I can only pick three things from the previous game? It doesn't feel like my world anymore.
They completely undermined everything they built up.

The only Inquisitor that matters is the one who romanced Solas. Fifty Shades of Solas is what the players wanted. No. Demanded. They don't want to be bogged down with insignificant details regarding the world of Dragon Age. Nothing ever really happened anyway. It's about Solas, brother. It's about Solas and the Inquisitor's love.
It's so strange what the industry has become. You were once able to trust developers and their vision, good or bad. And now we're playing this game where they lie, obfuscate, and seek to deceive their customers. They limit their access, bully creators, lie about leaks, and tell you not to believe your five senses. You can't trust them. I'm old enough to remember the days when IGN was actually respected and reliable. They weren't perfect, but they were pretty fucking good. Jace Hall Show anyone? Seems almost a fever dream at this point.
And now we have to become private investigators in order to suss out what's good and what isn't. And Veilguard is just more of the same. You need only look at their trailers to figure that out. The final two aren't technically untrue, but are so misleading to the point of being lies. All the while you're gaslighted into thinking that the studio is operating in good faith. While they spin another yarn about how great it is that you'll only have three choices. All of them from the latest game. Isn't that great! That means that the choices in Veilguard will mean so much more and be so interactive and revolutionary. They said so. It must be true!
They got rid of Thedas as we know it to make room for the narratively vapid and vacuous disaster that is Veilguard. And their work is not yet done, but at least we know what's coming this time.

I just get irritated whenever people refer to the Inquisitor as Lavellan BioWare's "canon" Inquisitor was apparently a Lavellan who, subtly guided by Solas, fucked up every major decision in Orlais and Ferelden (such as forcing Celine, Gaspard and Brialla to work together - this is the only decision approved by Solas in Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts) and got worst endings for companions and advisors (she may have even flirted with Cullen a few times and then chose Solas, leaving him as a lyrium-addled wreck) - and that's why Southern Thedas falls so easily to CYKABLIGHT Sixth Blight.

Not really successful in this, because there are survivors and there is the Inquisition and "the survival of the survivors" could actually be a very good start for a new game (isn't going to happen, not with those writers at least, but it could be). I am reminded of ME3 at the end, where Shepard is on the Citadel, and there are corpses EVERYWHERE and people were pissed that everyone was slaughtered and there wasn't a damn thing Shepard could do to prevent it. The Reapers just waltz in and take it because we needed a "Take Back Earth" final act. And the devs ended up scrambling with lame excuses like "Nono, most of the Citadel residents survived! There were, uh, emergency shelters they were able to hide in! Yeah, that's it!" Let me remind you again. Whenever you question something in a Bioware game, the answer will always be you do not need to know, and there's not enough time to explain. If you don't agree with that, then there's always artistic integrity

He aren't so bad when he's just standing there as a npc. But the haircut/beard/darker eyebrows just do him no favor. He used to have those big softies eyes. Now he almost looks like a villain, perhaps to fit the "gonna purge Tevinter harshly" narrative. His VA, after a decade, didn't manage to recapture 100% his tone. But then male english Inky is terrible. His voice is so much lower now, it's strange. But the worst for me, was "LOVE". Dorian was a bit allergic to saying I love you. Fine by me IRL I'm also quite allergic to it. His codice entry when he talks to the magisterium about slavery. "blablablab slavery is bad. Think about equality yadada LOVE..." and I'm like wtf what politicians talks about love to a bunch of sociopath to topple a unjust system. Also his letter to INky is like "I Love you. I love you. Everyday I will tell you how much I LOVE you. " Anyway Dorian and my Inky lives on in my head, veilguard I don't know her.

I suppose I should be thankful they didn't do anything to my man Rainier. Though the letter having him planning to paint a house with the Inquisitor sounded vaguely out of place. I should be grateful to get even that, I say, sounding every bit the battered BioWare wife.

OK, I suspect I'm going to get a lot of pushback for saying this, and a lot of disagreement - but I feel it's worth saying anyway.
I think that a wise person always chooses to evaluate a thing based on what it is, and not on what it isn't.
For example, if I order a Big Mac, I'd not rate it by directly comparing it to a chateaubriand prepared by a Michelin-starred chef, I'd rate it by comparing it to a Burger King whopper, or the burgers at Nancy's Food Stop.
By the same token when I look at Dragon Age 2 I consider it from the perspective of a game that was literally made in 12 months - forcing the developers to take all kinds of shortcuts, and literaly cobble the final act together as best they could. Sure I could evaluate it against Dragon Age Origins, noting that there was a lot of missing stuff, or stuff that had been truncated or streamlined, and a lot of re-used assets - but in doing that I'd be doing a 'Big Mac vs chateaubriand.' What would be the point? We all know a chateaubriand is better than a Big Mac.
Dragon Age 2 is what it is. It's a rushed, flawed game that suffers from the short development cycle - but - within that context and accepting those limitations it's a pretty decent game, even an outstanding game. Bioware almost pulled off a miracle, given what they had to work with.
So, let's turn to Veilguard. A game that was initially designed as a heist-based game set in Tevinter, and was then scrapped at the urging of EA executives and re-made as a multiplayer-only, online looter shooter stuffed with microtransactions - and then, at the urging of EA, re-made a third time into what it is now. They had to take all of the existing looter shooter assets and quickly re-work them into a single-player experience, create party members and drum up a proper story! Once again in a very short period of time.
So, when I evaluate Veilguard, I'm going to do so against the context above. I'm not going to go down the route of "Origins is great, and in comparison Veilguard is...." We all know it's not as good as Origins, but it is what it is.
