The last game I played new was ME3. The clear drop in the writing quality and the endings were an insult to the franchise and its fans/ players, only superseded by the ending debacle PR nightmare, when I learned about the bowels of this industry. I didnt approve any of the business practices BW/EA were doing, and the future of gaming, with first-day DLCs, endless grinding, pay-to-win and loot boxes was not one for me. So I stopped playing and buying new games since it, with the exception of Titanfall 2 and an almost free copy of MEA (Morbid curiosity).
Between the ME5 announcement, Casey "ABC" Endings" Hudson departure and Anthem failure, I feel somewhat vindicated, after all the sourness brought by ME3 and the ending debacle.
I would like to hear your thougths on this.

We know nothing about ME5 and you are already jumping to conclusions as if they are set in stone.

Well you've missed out on a lot of amazing games due to assuming one company equals the entire industry.

You're talking about EA, one of the worst game companies in history, if not the worst. Maybe look into games of different companies, you'd be surprised.

As the other said, there's more world out there than EAware.

Oh well, I played some games, but never bought any new ones. ME3 was my first and only preordered game. Another lesson well learned.
Limbo and Undertale were amazing. Spec Ops: The Line was a kick to the guts, the story is captivating. Titanfall 2 is a great, great game. Saints Row IV was hilarious and great, a love letter to the franchise and the fans. GTA V was phenomenal. FTL, Bioshock:Infinite, Shadow of Mordor...many good games played. Never new. No hype. No DLC bullshit.
I guess I'm just pickier with my time and gaming in general. 2012 teached me how it's a waste to spend it in glorified slot machines, grinding eternally for mediocre content. I visit this site two or three times per year, just to laugh at the piss poor state of Anthem and Bioware in general. But the news of Casey's departure, ME5 (probably) in the Milky Way with at least one recurrent character, and the clear intention to retrieve their credibility after almost a decade of mediocrity, made me feel vindicated. Made me even consider playing another ME game.
A used, on sale copy for sure, two years after launch.
Thanks for reading folks!

I assume they are referring to the cash grab multiplayer no one asked for. You mean the really enjoyable multiplayer that with the right team can be really fun to play and with the wrong team can be wall punchingly annoying to play? The well received part of the game that after DLC and an update became 100% optional to play even if you wanted the best endings? The Loot boxes that were so pointless you are better off just playing the MP because if I remember right 5 gold matches would give you enough credits to buy a high end box to get stuff out of.

I can appreciate how one may feel vindicated by not buying some titles new. I enjoy the souls series but I have never bought one at launch. They end up being tweaked several times and have DLCs added that make a GoTY edition more attractive for me - plus I'm patient, I can wait. With the 3rd instalment of that series I don't feel I missed much - the player population is still decent but with the 2nd that isn't the case and perhaps diving in earlier would have been better.
The last BioWare title I pre-ordered was MEA. I think the most disappointing thing about that experience was the lack of commitment to the title further down the line. To be sure some things with it can't be changed but I think more could have been done/expanded upon and not doing so certainly made me sceptical about Anthem and what state it would launch in and what it will end up like.
I can understand some (by no means all) of the criticism of ME3 - it is perhaps a bit more uneven in tone than 1 and 2 but all in all I got a lot of enjoyment out of it. I was surprised just how engrossing the MP was, I never spent anything on it either. The only thing I felt wasn't going for the non loot box buying player was getting upgrades of the ultra rare weapons.
All in all it's a bit of mixed bag and up to your own judgement.

Just to clarify... Who is getting cleared of suspicion and or blame? Is it EAWARE or yourself being cleared of suspicion of some kind? Is it not buying games or buying only used that is getting blamed for something? Vindicated is the term for clearing blame of suspicion.
Do you mean justified? Sorry if this is out of left field... I am a bit confused .

Andromeda's initial sales and post launch support would indicate otherwise. Regardless of what people may think, Andromeda wasn't what killed ME. Andromeda was murdered by ME3, conceptually, before it even got made.

Enough sirpetrakus. Everyone is entitled to their own criticisms but obviously the franchise isn't dead if a goddamn new game is being made.A franchise is dead, when its future iteration is no longer viable. And Andromeda wasn't a viable product. Effectively, it is dead and this is the chance Bioware has to revive it. Ir may happen, it may get canceled, or it may succeed. But, effectively, going forward from ME3 to Andromeda, ME was a dead franchise. Andromeda had no chance.
