My money is on a new race discovered after the defiant humans built a new mass relay and accidentally discovered a new sector of the Milky Way where the remaining Jaardan hide. Exactly my thoughs.MR7 is practically one of the 7 primary mass relays, that leads to unknow space.Thats why council is furious.

No, the Council (and every other named character on the Citadel) survived ME3 as confirmed by the devs. Could either be a title for something in the game, or maybe even Matriarch but they don’t want to say that since that confirmed when this takes place. Matriarch was my first thought but there are lots of possibilities Spectre was mine

Regarding Liara's tone of voice: since they are still in pre-production, they probably cannot give the voice actor much context so she just gives her own interpretation of what Liara's mindset might be based on those few lines.
And voice actors don't always hit the right note either - remember how rude Liara sounded in ME3 when she had no further dialogue when you visited her room and she just said "Ready for the next mission?" in a tone suggesting she was super angry with Shep.

Hmm. While it could just be the transmission, Liara sounds very... robo... and sinister, the more I listen to this. Could everyone be indoctrinated/geth-indoctrinated and it's the plucky humans building a resistance and relays so they don't have to pass through controlled ones? Maybe we will be fighting the horrors of Synthesis, freeing one individual at a time and ship them all off to Andromeda in the end.

So there might be be something else with the video. And while there is the "cloaked" ripple, the time in the blackbox also skip a few seconds once in a while. Also, I think the "ripple" might actually be an image spliced into the frames and not something actually cloaked over the relay, but I don't know how you can extract that. Michael Gamble @gamblemike"Although, they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance!" - Liara T'Soni (Doctor, Shadow Broker and <REDACTED>). #N7Day On the right side, you can see the start of a blurry Solar Electronics sign which you can see clearly if you play ME2 and go to Omega.

How about the ship and whatever else that suddenly pop up out of nowhere with the ripple? A graphical glitch due to distance closing and textures loading? Or conclusive proof there are some time dilation shenanigans going on! 🤣 Maybe the ripple is not a cloaked ship, but time travel change.

Okay, so now we have the full translation between Liara and the Geth. There's definitely some anger in Liara's voice at "human defiance"... I can see it. How did we miss this? Exactly, the Council will be furious, although they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance. It always was their most defining characteristic.Hmm. While it could just be the transmission, Liara sounds very... robo... and sinister, the more I listen to this. Could everyone be indoctrinated/geth-indoctrinated and it's the plucky humans building a resistance and relays so they don't have to pass through controlled ones? Didn't her voice in MEA sound robotic as well? What could be so urgent? Did some Reapers run away from the crucible energy wave by flying to another galaxy? It's possible. That's what ME4 can be about. Shepard, squadmates and crew head to darkspace to make sure the reapers are no longer a threat, and if possible destroy any that might be still around. Or they're used as target practice when training new recruits joining the military.

Plus it'd play right into the Reaper's whole mind control thing.

However, hearing the Geth in that transmission though would suggest that Destroy is not canon? Unless some Geth escaped the Destroy ending blast, or they were rebuilt. Lots of possibilities! My guess is that the three endings could be canon, if some compromise is made: Destroy, but not all Geth are wiped out. Some could've uploaded themselves as programs inside the Arks and escaped the Endings. Synthesis, but it was not eternal or people found a way to get rid of the green eyes Control, but Reapers are long gone now, because the galaxy needs to evolve by itself after quite some time reconstructing. Either way, we get dead Reapers, as seen in the teasers. Also, also, it's worth noting that the date with the year 90 could be 2190, but my guess would be 2790, 5 years after ME: Andromeda events and +600 years after the Reaper War. It could explains the older Liara, ties in the games and it if theories are correct that the image is a Mass Relay, makes the galaxy crack the Relay Tech and replicate it. 2 Guesses: MR-7 would be the 7th Mass Relay built, and each relay would take around 100 years due to the complexity of the technology and the sheer size of it, since no Relay is like another and leads to many different paths. (Which leads us to the 2790 that the Relay is nearly complete) It could be the 7th Mass Relay built, BUT they cracked the tech after the Reaper War and they're building it. The problem is the Geth and Liara's apparent aging on the teasers. So, in this theory, we would have a major time skip. Say, the prologue deals with that, fast forward 600 years later and the galaxy is still suffering consequences from whatever humanity has done (which leads us to the next cataclysm event: maybe the natural collision of the Milky Way and Andromeda - also as teased by Gamble on his Twitter - has been sped up and people are now finding a way to revert this process)

Re the timeline, I’d guess that it’s closer to 2190 than 2790 tbh.
The tech in the teaser images and the vids is too familiar. Would it really not change that much over the course of 600 years? The sky cars are almost, if not identical.
My guess would be 2290.

But I suppose it could be like Star Wars, where tech improvements aren't that drastic for thousands of years. Or due to the need to rebuild so much, it set back improvements.

I don’t think it is a Mass Relay, or at least not the kind of Mass Relays we know. We see in the Extended Cut that they are already being repaired and it is fully supported by all races. So the Council wouldn’t be furious at humanity for that.

My guess would be 2290. aesthetics and functionality =/= technical advancements The nasal helmet design was used from the late 9th century to around the middle of 13th century. That's ~300 years. Fabrications methods and materials probably changed thought. There is usually big leap early when something new is invented (planes, cars, computers), but overtime the curve flatten and both design and functionalities become fixed to what is the most efficient.

Very good point. Whilst I agree, I think subtleties in aesthetics are inevitable, at least on a surface level, as tastes and styles will dictate certain amounts of evolution, especially over a potential span of many hundreds of years. It just looks “too” familiar to me to be the better part of a millennium apart.
Equally though, I also don’t think it’s 2190, 4 years after ME3.
Will probably end up being sat somewhere in between, 2390/2490…

Its an Intergalactic Mass Effect Slingshot. Its meant to accelerate a spaceship as normal Mass Relays do but since there is no matching Relay in Andromeda a spaceship using it has to decelerate on its own. For this reason the Slingshot will be different to normal Relay and spaceships must be purpose built for such deceleration.

So the Council wouldn’t be furious at humanity for that. My guess is they are bulding some type of modified mass relay to connect the Milky Way with the Andromeda galaxy. However, since the tech looks really similar with the ME Trilogy it is curious they are focusing on it while the worlds and mass relay network are likely still being rebuild after the war.
But why the rush? I can only think of some Reapers escaping the Crucible as justification to hunt them down quick. Why else would multiple groups try to reconnect so fast with some mission most of the galaxy didn't even bother with.
That is if this game actually takes place close to the MET timeline. If it is centuries later then i have no idea why the Council would be against this idea.
Sure hope the next batch of information isn't only on N7Day 2023...

I dunno if anyone saw my theory in the speculation post but here's what I think is going on.
Each race is tasked to rebuild the galaxy in different way, humanity are tasked with building relays (or at least this one). Rather than building a standard relay humanity build a relay ship/ark to send to Andromeda the idea being in 600 years the people of Andromeda can return to the milky way and help.
The relay would have to be a primary relay (we know they can be moved and still lock on to their partner) but I guess it would be enhanced some how with Reaper tech.
If the relay was sent in 2190 it would arrive 5 years after the initiative give us a little time jump but our cast will all sill be there (just a little grown up).
I think the clip we heard was Liara, the shadow broker, learning what humanity was planning and deciding whether to tell the council or not.
This way we get both galaxies but it's all tied together neatly and who knows what big bads could use the new super relay.

The Citadel and the galactic war fleet are near Earth. And would be stuck in our area until the Mass Relays were repaired. So how would humanity get away with this when everyone is right there next to them?

I've revived Shepard, but I'm sending him in a Suicide Mission.

Re the timeline, I’d guess that it’s closer to 2190 than 2790 tbh. The tech in the teaser images and the vids is too familiar. Would it really not change that much over the course of 600 years? The sky cars are almost, if not identical. My guess would be 2290. There's that, but Liara's wrinkles give time away. She should be at least 600 years old, IMHO. Edit: Plus, I really do think Bioware is trying to connect both timelines, so it would be a guess to put it closer to Andromeda rather than the OT, where all the arks have departed and the whole Andromeda Initiative isn't really a thing anymore.
