Meanwhile the 360 version works like a dream even while emulated. (Officially. Not so sure about unofficially - haven't tried)
Kind of hilarious to see people praising Origin though - kinda like praising your blunt carving knife when compared to trying to cut meat with a bard.

Uninstall your Origin, because the new patch (10.5.122) from EA broke everything again
Download the Origin Offline Installer (https://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe)
Install, be sure to remove the checkboxes from the paragraphs about "auto update"
After installation DO NOT log in to your account. Go to "C:\ProgramData\Origin" (attention, the folder "ProgramData" will be hidden by default), find there and open in Notepad (or any other text editor) file "local.xml", the last line there will be , BETWEEN this line add this line (you will most likely need to add an empty line by pressing Enter first)

so we better do the downgrade install from taskinoz.com/origin, then add the lines, then remove the files ?
EDIT : ok, i did the install from taskinoz and redid most the steps from both methods. It works

I used a variant of the second method.
I found 3 instances of local.xml and added the four lines to each instance. Skipped the second step of downgrading Origin. Tested and it worked.

I couldn't get the latest fix to "stick", so I sucked it up and let it migrate to EA (cr)App. Everything seems to work for me (knock on wood). All my games are visible, ME3 MP works, MELE works. Not sure if they've fixed things, or I'm just lucky (so far). [Update: works on both main and alt accounts]

Can anyone confirm that anyone has the same problem with the app not showing the games?
I can log into the EA app but the games are not showing. That means I can't even access my (offline) games for hours.
Connecting to the offline mode is also not possible, because there is supposedly no connection to the Server possible. Although I'm logged in. What a piece of trash Launcher.

is there a joining game option that i didnt found at the time ?
I m still playing with origin, but crash most of the time when joining. I had a few unintended solos and few joining pug, but they never stayed for a second game !  I think i should have stopped playing already, or at least stop now ! But i keep struggling from time to time

Not sure I can help you much. There's still the "invite player" from the MP lobby. You have to have the EA App overlay active. But I haven't tried it (haven't been playing, and the little I do is solo)
But I don't see any features to allow you to join a friend from the App itself. And have seen complaints about lack of joining features. But I'm pretty ignorant on this, sorry.

I am at a point now where my ME3 will not launch at all. ME3 would not launch - went to Galaxy at war page and the game just closes itself. I just got a new computer - now on Windows 11. Relaoded ME3 with the EA App and, it closes at the Galaxy at War screen. EA help tickets are shit, as worthless as the EA App.
Does anyone have any ideas for me?

I always held the theory that new PCs = shitter ME3. I've played across 3 PCs. First was a mid-tier PC in 2013. Game worked the best on there. Never crashed, ran smooth, even with Origin overlay. GTX650, forget the CPU, 8gb DDR3 Ram. Windows 7 2nd was the PC i bought in 2018, decent rig for the price. GTX1070TI, I7 8770, 16gb DDR4 and Windows 7 (free upgrade to 8, then 10). But this is where the game started to crash more, the first time I had the retalliation bug, overlays causing issues and input delay/on-host lag. Had to disable Origin in-game, but could still use Discord Overlay without issues. 3rd and current rig I built this year. RTX4070ti, Ryzen 5 5800X, 32gb DDR4 Ram and Windows 10. The game has all the 2nd PC issues but now I can't even use discord's overlay. Input delay is bad enough to compare to off-host US lag now. I have to tap the ops pack about 3-5 times before it activates. Not a keyboard issue since the hotbar is beeping and flashing. Game acknowledges I'm pushing the button, but not acting. Don't remember this ever happening on the first PC. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Put some money to one side and build a 2012/13 PC. I've been thinking about it myself to be honest. Finding old parts, Windows Vista and having PC dedicated to playing games from 10-15 years ago |

Not really, except this: Post to EA answers, specifically this forum. Hope to get the attention of Holger1405 (he usually attempts to help). Do not expect any real help from EA. There are a few more EA people active there who ... try. But their advice is usually very generic/basic and their batting average is below the Mendoza line. And directly contacting support is even worse (as you know).
Be specific in your subject and summary. Some info to include: Steam or direct Origin (now EA App) copy of game? Original game (not LE). You say doesn't launch, but then say you get to a "Galaxy at war page". This seems contradictory. So elaborate/clarify on exactly how far it gets. Do a screen capture, especially if there is any message. When did it stop working? Your info above doesn't make it clear what the sequence of events was.
But yeah, lots of people are having more and more issues, especially with the onset of the EA App forced transition. And it seems somewhat random. So, I really wish you luck.

But yeah, lots of people are having more and more issues, especially with the onset of the EA App forced transition. And it seems somewhat random. So, I really wish you luck. I launch from ME3 tweaks to enable text chat, with the EA app I often have to close EA background service to actually get the game to launch. Also when the main menu loads wait like 10 seconds before choosing multiplayer it's a known issue it'll just close the game sometimes if you choose MP too fast, in the background I think it's actually checking DLC. |
