The version.dll file didn't work for me. Origin tells me it s not for windows. I guess I have a too old version of windows
edit :managed to mix automated and manual fix...

I would stay on it. If it wasn't such a pile of shit. They should be ashamed and embarrassed for pushing this crap on their customers. Removes features from Origin and doesn't implement them over the past 3 years. I rate it EA out of 10 There is a reason I like this site so much - we all have such a similar sense of humor. This one actually made me chuckle.

And is it possible to join an in game match without an invite as on Origin before? 1: needs the overlay (so no alt-tab invite) 2: needs to be in lobby (so no emergency mid-game invite if friend crashes/disconnects) 3: no join-in feature. Your only options on the friends lists is to double click to message, view profile, block user and report them.

Log in to EA Desktop this morning and no games listed as installed. Maybe I should be thankful they were still listed as owned?
A quick settings check and it reset my downloads folder to the default (?). Changing it back to my SSD and it recognizes them again. One more quit/restart and it again sorts them by installed/owned.
A clue was how it first loaded then backed out and insisted I sign a licensing agreement. Apparently came with an update to this wonderful service (/s).

If anyone is still using this pile of crap, according to a post on Reddit.... "in case anyone was getting frustrated with not being able to form lobbies with friends, older accts are not able to do lobby invites again on ME3. that happened a few days ago. but also, just this morning, we discovered the techs made changes to the MEA lobbies on the 30th, and those are now fixed for all accounts. a summary of fixes as it stands, from the EA.com help thread: The friend invites problem should now be fixed for all EA accounts, regardless of their age, in Mass Effect: Andromeda on all platforms. The friend invites problem should also be fixed for Mass Effect 3 for EA accounts that were created before 2018 on all platforms. However, the friend invites issue is still currently not fixed for Mass Effect 3 for EA accounts created after 2018 on all platforms." here |
