Don't know if anybody else is experiencing this but holy cow the Grand Necropolis is buggy for me. I get horrible graphical glitches after a few minutes in the zone. First ill get a horizontal black line across the screen when panning the camera. Then after a few more minutes the whole area starts flickering and flashing the textures. Then lags like mad and the game will require a restart. I loaded into another zone when it glitches and the other areas are fine. I checked hardware temps and nothing is going crazy, and it doesn't happen anywhere else. So def must be something in that zone. Hm... the 1st time I entered Treviso I had jaggies. Everything fine since. My current PC settings are:
. borderless window mode = uses native monitor resolution = 1080p which is set in the Windows 11 Display resolution menu
. Framerate = 60 . Monitor refresh rate = 60.0 Hz
I've finished Lucanis quest but I'm now back to finish another one. So far so good.
I've set my mouse sensitivity to 0.7 but the screen still zigs and zags with minimum mouse movement.... very annoying.

thanks githcheater and saandrig , that was very helpful My graphics card is only a 2070 super but hopefully it'll do okay. I had thought they mentioned 2070 for recommended a while back so didn't do any upgrading because I was hoping to get another year out of this one. Such is life Did you end up getting the game? I'm running it on a 2070 Super at 1440p and it's doing fine. At first I was running on default high settings and getting mostly between 50 and 70 fps. Then earlier today, I started spending more time in a certain forest, and saw my framerate drop below 30. Switching some settings to medium (two texture settings and ground decorations) fixed it, and it still looks good. All that said, if I can gather up the funds for a GPU upgrade, I'm really tempted to do it. This is such a beautiful game that I want to see the settings ALL cranked up. I do have it and have been playing it. Settings are mostly high and the game still looks very good. I do have occasional CTD for some kind of graphics card error but DAtV is so generous with auto saves I've not lost more than minutes of gameplay. Fingers crossed! I'll probably upgrade next year.

Just wanted to let people know, some issues, like stuttering and directx crashes aren't necessarily related to being on lower end hardware. It's happening to people with 4090s too. It may be an issue relating to caching or memory release, but that's just speculation among some of us who only noticed crashing if the game has been closed and reopened without a PC restart in between.
And regarding the AGESA bios update, people with AM5 chips are fine, it's only relevant for those with AM4 chips. So it's not related to that either (lots of us with up to date bios and AM5 chips are still having the directx crashes).
BioWare has announced a patch is coming next week. No full patch notes yet, but their post does mention it'll deal with some instances of crashes - whether this includes the directx crashes or not I don't know yet.
I'd also like to say that just because you personally aren't experiencing any performance issues doesn't invalidate the issues other people are having. PCs are fickle beasts, all sorts of things can go wrong through no fault of the user, so let's reserve judgement until BioWare have had a chance to look into it.

PC's are complex, I can totally understand why issues crop up. My own 50 hours without a single bug or crash on Xbox comes at the price of not experiencing 'ultra' graphics. It's a tough choice. And I do wish my PC friends with it.

Can confirm that if I play the game after a fresh PC restart I don't get the directx crash. It only happens for me if I close the game and reopen it without restarting my PC. This does suggest it's related to something like memory not being released after closing.
Anyway, if others are getting this crash, make a note if it still happens after you've restarted your PC.

No stuttering, but I got the DirectX crash like a couple times. Also noticed some texture pop-in with ONE staff (Shockbranch, I think it's called? The one with the serpent, the snake's scales get blurry every now and then and then pop back in when I get closer with the camera. Don't think this should be happening... but then also it could be some other setting, depth of field, bloom or whatever (I don't know jack about PCs, could be anything - but I'm running all on Ultra). Strange though, it's literally just this one weapon, everything else from clothes to those huge environments, hair, ray-tracing stuff... all top notch super detailed and gorgeous AF.

I got crashes a few times. The only time I noticed was when I would pause by pressing the escape key. I got around this "pausing" by bringing up the map. I have a 4070 super and am using the latest drivers.

First thing I did after applying the patch is to start the game. Then ? C R A S H.!!
Solution? Start the EA App first.. clear the cache, then start the game.
This is poor programming practice. You ALWAYS clear your buffers when starting your program. Why? Because the system assigns the buffer area to an address in memory that can contain crap. The buffer area is NOT cleared by the system. The crash error says (paraphrasing) " a badly formulated command....".. Of course! It attempts to issue a command with crap!!! Dear Lord!

Not a bug. Many of the companion quests involve a "meet" point. When you interact with that point there's a transition from the "open world" part of the adventure to the core quest. If you have the companion who's quest it is in your party they come along with you until you get to that point, because the quest hasn't really started yet, and you could be doing other content in the same area. You other party member may go away for a bit as well once you interact with the meeting point, but will come back when the quest ends.

Ok so wanted to share a clip I tried to capture for the glitch I have going on in the Necropolis to see if anybody else is experiencing it. But thanks to compression you can't really see it. So got an image of it being visible. It is always there when on that map and moves around whenever I pan the camera. Very annoying once you see it! Sadly todays patch didn't help, or with the gold color 3 face paint bug. Line Bug in necropolis, right under the arrow goes all the way across the screen. Only on this map Gold Paint bug, visible when close up and at certain angles but less so when zoomed out. Is there on any custom or preset color

I know someone asked me about this but I cannot find where it was, so here are the specifics of the patch notes for gameplay that was loosely bundled as 'balance changes' Player Gameplay- Branching fixes for Warrior Charged 2H (this should fix a bunch of traits that were unintentionally hard to pull off) - Audacity (unique rogue sword) no longer takes arrows per hit if the player has Bombard (infinite arrows) rune active - Pilfer now applies effects from equipped belt rather than a generic heal (this means if your belt doesnt have healing on it, this ability wont heal) - Mage beam (ranged attack) damage offset from 33% to 50% (this makes it deal more damage relative to equipped weapon) - Mage beam properly flagged as a 'weapon' so it can trigger specific rune procs (and properly gain from +weapon damage stat) - Mage beam tick rate for normal/enhanced from .66/.33 to .5/.25 (slightly faster between damage instances now) - Mage branching should feel smoother in specific cases now - Beam upgrades now work even if you dont buy the ramping damage skill at the center (but why would you not?!) Items- Timeworn Mageknife legandary property cost reduced from 50 to 10 - Enchanted Athame legendary property bonus damage increased from 50 to 100% - Fixed issue with scaling on follower ability damage from their equipped chest piece (you should see the damage going up in the latter half of the game by a noticeable amount) - Bees! affliction now stacks properly - Casket Sharp (unique 2h warrior) light attacks properly tagged to do bonus damage to armor - Helms that have scaling based on faction power are now scaling more appropriately for levels 2 and 3 Creatures- A couple Despair Demons enhanced with Juggernaut were swapped off to other things as it was breaking their wakeup logic - Regeneration Enhancement tick rate slowed on Underdog/Nightmare from 3/2 to 3.5/3 respectively - Mythal Dragon fight was not scaling properly, this should now be appropriately challenging (as intended) - Assassin archetype enemies basic attacks deal slightly more damage base damage now

Welp, I know my computer is pretty old, but it's above minimum requirements and I've played the whole game with only two crashes - but now, after the patch, it appears that the strand hair makes my NVidia drivers on 1080 TI crash constantly And CC is the worst. The strand hair and purple background in CC in particular (though I've also had a crash in the wardrobe) hate one another with burning passion.

The EA app does not load the patch for me. It displays confusing values about the size (7 MB of 7 MB,...) and the download speed is between a few bytes and 20 KB. Then I uninstalled the game, because the installation a week ago went quickly. Well, now nothing is happening.

A Direct X crash due to an "improperly formulated command" may not be fixed via the EA APP cache clearing method. For me, starting the game results in an immediate crash with same error msg. Repeating the cache clearing exercise fails to fix the problem. A Windows reboot is the only solution.
At startup, the game contacts the EA app to obtained DA4 account validation which results in a crash, as I don't even see the twirling purple logo at the bottom right of the screen.

So, when Neve got Hardened, it gave me back my 4 points invested in her healing. I reinvested them in another ability. However, after the patch, the points disappeared and she is 4 points short compared to her bond lvl and the other companions.
