first of all Do I need to manually download the patch? Or will EA notify that it needs to be downloaded? And is there a workaround for the loading error. I've played 16 hours and started a new game several times because I can't resume the game. Also, health potions and those green urns are not working. As yet not gotten past the bubble with Neve and Bellara.

I know someone asked me about this but I cannot find where it was, so here are the specifics of the patch notes for gameplay that was loosely bundled as 'balance changes' Player Gameplay- Branching fixes for Warrior Charged 2H (this should fix a bunch of traits that were unintentionally hard to pull off) - Audacity (unique rogue sword) no longer takes arrows per hit if the player has Bombard (infinite arrows) rune active - Pilfer now applies effects from equipped belt rather than a generic heal (this means if your belt doesnt have healing on it, this ability wont heal) - Mage beam (ranged attack) damage offset from 33% to 50% (this makes it deal more damage relative to equipped weapon) - Mage beam properly flagged as a 'weapon' so it can trigger specific rune procs (and properly gain from +weapon damage stat) - Mage beam tick rate for normal/enhanced from .66/.33 to .5/.25 (slightly faster between damage instances now) - Mage branching should feel smoother in specific cases now - Beam upgrades now work even if you dont buy the ramping damage skill at the center (but why would you not?!) Items- Timeworn Mageknife legandary property cost reduced from 50 to 10 - Enchanted Athame legendary property bonus damage increased from 50 to 100% - Fixed issue with scaling on follower ability damage from their equipped chest piece (you should see the damage going up in the latter half of the game by a noticeable amount) - Bees! affliction now stacks properly - Casket Sharp (unique 2h warrior) light attacks properly tagged to do bonus damage to armor - Helms that have scaling based on faction power are now scaling more appropriately for levels 2 and 3 Creatures- A couple Despair Demons enhanced with Juggernaut were swapped off to other things as it was breaking their wakeup logic - Regeneration Enhancement tick rate slowed on Underdog/Nightmare from 3/2 to 3.5/3 respectively - Mythal Dragon fight was not scaling properly, this should now be appropriately challenging (as intended) - Assassin archetype enemies basic attacks deal slightly more damage base damage now Thanks Luke. Could be me you were referring to. It just helps having specifics since learning these specifics might open up new build opportunities. Also, on Series X, I have been noticing that my Warrior Ultimate keeps switching out when I fast travel to a new zone (from For Gold to Glory to Flashing Fists). Edit: It could be happening when a cutscene occurs, but I can't confirm. Edit2: Found out what was causing the ultimate switch. It's if you respec your skill points.

The Warrior Greater Passive Medium Armor Mastery doesn't auto-apply if you swap back to a medium helm + armor combo. You have to refund the passive then apply it on this Passive again for it to take affect.

I hope someone can help me with this, because it's driving me insane and really ruining my enjoyment of the game.
I play on PC with a controller. That worked fine for DAI, but in DAV the game keeps defaulting back to keyboard. Basically, the directional input of the controller always works, but the abilities can only be used with the keyboard. It will go back to controller for a little bit if I make a save, but then it defaults to keyboard again. Has anyone had this issue? I'm scared reading here too much in case there are spoilers for quests and stuff.

Hi QuizzyBunny....I play with a Controller as well and the only time the key bindings switch to Keyboard is when I hit ALT/F1 to take a screenshot, but then as soon as I hit another button like Y or B on my Controller the input reverts back to Controller settings autmotically. In the Game's Main Menu..... Let me boot it up again to check something.....OK I thought there might be a Setting in the Menu under 'Controls' but it wasn't what I thought. However, if I am reading your post correctly....This is just a shot in the dark, but it may be an port issue. You see I am using the USB 3.0 ports on the front of my case for my Controller and the connection is very stable. As I said the only time the Input switches to Keyboard is when I take a Screenshot but then as as soon as I touch another button on my controller it recognizes that Input again and everything works just fine. Perhaps, just perhaps, it is an input/connectivity issue between the USB port you are using and your Controller....My first suggestion would be to try switching to a different port if you have an open one on your case or on the back of your motherboard. USB 3.0 if you've got them, but 2.0 should work just fine as well. All we are checking for is possible defectiveness in the port you are presently using. If you switch ports and it works...Maybe the port is starting to go, or maybe the Firmware needs updating.

I also had the same bug 2 or 3 times, more annoying when you only realize it once you trigger it against the big bad dragon . Mage too.

There's a puzzle bug in the Shadowy Grove area of Arlathan Forest. Once you complete it, its supposed to spawn an enemy, but they never appeared. The chest is visible, but I can't interact with it. It's also the final chest I would need for the zone. EDIT: Scratch that. It's working, but there's a caveat. I had Davrin's final Conversational Questline in this region (because I choose to have the Griffons stay in Arlathan Forest), and I think the game disabled to boss spawn because this quest was active in my quest log Once the enemy showed up, I was able to grab the final chest.

I am quite impressed by how well the game runs on my potato -- i7-3770 / RX 5500 XT.
Can't run it at high settings, but I'm surprised that it runs at all.

Had a weird bug last night playing on my Steam Deck. I had started a new game and had played through to the end of the D'Metas Crossing quest and while Varric was doing his end of quest narration the scene that was playing was from the ending. The audio was correct, but the wrong cutscene played. It took me until Loghain showed up on my screen to realize something was wrong. Edit: It looks like this was the result of using GE-Proton9-16 which seemed to be giving me more stability. Once I unchecked forcing it to use that the right video played.

This why I'm mostly a console player (usually only use my PC for Swtor). There's just too many "moving part". I'm playing on Xbox and my husband plays with my PC and only bug we both had, was the ultimate changing. So yeah, 20k hours of curated testing indeed 😅

It's possible that I didn't actually go through with purchasing that theme, though. Guess I'll have to head back to the merchant and see.

Not game breaking by any means, but Jacobus was present twice at the Crow hangout. One where he usually is and one where he was waiting for a scene trigger next to Teia and Viago.

I have a problem. Two armors look the same. They have the same description. The same texture. Only the Icon is different. This photo is from the wardrobe. The other armors look normal. Only these two look the same. Can you check your game?

Has anyone else noticed that the hair colour in the CC doesn't stick even after you 'apply' it, and it changes and is different in game and especially changes under different lighting conditions? I mean, all day I've been tryign to make an Elf Rogue who looks like Legolas as he was in LOTR, and not only could I not get the blond colour exactly right....Every time I thought I had something passable in the CC, I could go back out into the game and it was a completely different colour (like brown or gray), and not only that....In the vastly different lighting conditions of the in-game environments it would change colour....and ONLY during certain cutscenes would it actually appear to be the colour I had chosen.
Also, I noticed that the toggle at the top in which you push RB or LB on a Controller (Q or E ont he Keyboard)....From the time I selected what I wanted, to moving to the 'Finalize' tab, every time, there would be the most subtle change in either the style or the colour of hair. It wouldn't actually stick with exactly as I had chosen.
*I've only just noticed this since the most recent 'patch'
