The Andromeda Initiative will be launched in 2185

I'm hoping that these ARKs started out as exploratory vessles, but due to Reaperness impending (post Sovereign, during Collector mayhem) they decide to launch to get away before the main Reaper force gets to the Milky Way.

If they completely ignore the Reaper threat, why are they risking so much on a one way ticket to the middle of nowhere?

Are they sick of hanging out in the Milky Way?

Is it not cool enough anymore?

I mean it's not like it's failing to meet expectations so far, given my expectations on story are extremely low...

...unless the explanation for these Arks happens to be even more ridiculous than the Lazarus Project and even more contrived than the magic Crucible.

These naysayers are silly af.

Do you really think that in a recruitment video/briefing they'll give out the true reasoning of the ark's construction? Ofcourse not, we'll probably learn the hidden secrets behind it in the game itself.

Eh I'm ok with lack of explanation for getting out of the Milky Way. As long as the story in Andromeda is good I wont care what happened back in the Milky Way.

They aren't going to touch the ME3 endings because of all the outrage 4 years ago and the fact that there are still many who are still sore and incredibly hostile. On the last trailer there was guy who got a bunch of likes for saying that Bioware will have nowhere to hide if they fuck this game up. Even as someone who hated the ME3 ending that's a really extreme reaction that should not be tolerated at all.

Even here it does sound like to me that some of you were going to damn Bioware for it no matter they said.

voice #1: How are we getting to Andromeda? How was it possible no one knew about this?
voice #2: Stop asking questions. You do not need to know, and there's not enough time to explain

kid: Is that really how they got to Andromeda?
guy: Yes, but the details have changed over time. It happened so very long ago
kid: Tell me another story about how they got to Andromeda
guy: haha. Ok. One more story

And let's remember we have explored like 1% of the Milk Way. But let's make a trip to a galaxy 600 years away because reasons. 

We can choose to believe there is a hidden explanation, but considering who is involved in Andromeda's development, the simplest explanation is that this is the best the could come up with. 

I hope not. Any information the books have the game should also have. You shouldn't be forced to use side material for answers.
