Pre-orders (Official Thread)

I've been waiting years for this of course I am pre ordering. I'm all in, pre order bonuses, collector's edition, I want it all. Dragon Age Inquisition delivered and I have no doubts Andromeda will as well.

Edit: I kinda doubt that Amazon is announcing the actual release date for Andromeda. BW will do that later this year. I assume it is just a placeholder for now, imo.

From what I can tell, the pre-ordering is available now. The purchase 'buttons' on the pages are active.

Hopefully others will chime in as more is understood about this.

The date that Amazon used is a placeholder. Retailers put up pre-order pages super early with next to no info and fill in the relevant info as it dribbles in.

It's always placeholders on sites like that. I would suggest not to buy into any of those until anything appears on Origin. And even then, it's a safer choice to buy or preorder on Origin. Less of a hassle and if you have issues, their support will help. Also good for refunding IIRC.

I hope a media copy is available retail. Downloading 40GB Digital copy of Mass Effect Andromeda is not in the cards at the moment.

In my Origin Games folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games), the size of the ME folders with all DLCS are:

   ME-1:  10.6 GB

   ME-2:  19.2 GB

   ME-3: 20.2 GB

If the ME:A download turns out to be 40GB in size, then their idea of an 'Open World' must be true!  Lol.

I think it looks sweet. It just works for me and I think it's because I do get a vibe of the unknown from it: beyond this lies the unknown - Andromeda.

I had a good experience with Amazon preorder of ME3.

I bought the Collector Edition just 2 weeks before the official release but soon I realized that the only stuff that I was interested in was "From Ashes". You know, I am not really a collector, and I am not usually interested in anything beyond the game itself, therefore for a moment I pondered if it wasn't better to cancel my order and to replace it with a copy of the Standard Edition, which would leave me with the need to buy the day-1 DLC from Origin Store. "Meh, for 5$ difference (between the CE price and the SE + DLC price) who cares?", I said, and I decided to leave my order alone.

Well, it turned out that Amazon had messed up with the preorders of ME3 CEs and that they "overbooked" meaning that they sold more CEs than the available copies. Therefore some day later they send me a mail were they were informing me that my copy of ME3 CE was not available therefore that they had to delete my preorder. And in order to apologize they were sending me a FREE copy of ME3 Standard Edition... Bingo!!

Here's how I got to play ME3 for free. And at that point I think I was the only player in the world who wasn't complaining beacuse he had to buy the DLC separately.

I could've preordered MEA several months ago at the game store down the road if I wanted to.
