Even the most elite gamer started out as a noob and worked his/her way up. What tips would you give to us noobs. And please dont troll (sad face). Hi Maplesyrup,
I am a noob too, and I have asked a lot of noob questions in this thread: bsn.boards.net/thread/1186/noob-mp-beginners-guide-dummies
that helped me a lot!
I am more than happy to group up too Just add me to the friend list (DomiSotto), and we can terrorize the neighborhood with the noobiness. Tab is the default button on the PC that allows you to talk. I've never really managed to chat on Discord while in MP, or found the Discord particularly useful as a meeting point, because there are very few people on it at any given time & you never know if they are nice or stressed out folks like in other games and will start venting. It is very easy to pug ME3MP, and I am a great believer in exposing the entire group to the terrors of player communication.
My top recommendations as someone who'd just started at this late hour will be (uhm, not sure if you are asking for something that basic):
1. Start with a character relying on Powers, such as (in order of my preference): Engineer, Vanguard and Adept and initially build it as a 6/6/6/4/4 or 5/3 or 3/5 save for Vanguard, that is the only starting character that imo takes a 6/0 build extremely well. Favor power damage over weapon damage to start with in the builds. 2. Once your picked your starting class, watch ComradeShepard7 video on the Gameplay of that class that is linked in the Resources thread pinned here. 3. When building up your character from level 1, I find that a strategy that works the best for me, is initially putting 1 point in his 3 Powers, then 2 points in Fitness, and then building up the powers. 4. Learn the Primer and Detonator, and which Ammo to use on your preferred character 5. Use only one weapon to start with to reduce the weight on the character, and find all the ammo boxes in each zone. If you are playing Grenade character, use "8" function once grenade boxes do not charge you to full. Do not forget to make the bee-line for reloading your ammo 6. Speaking of zones, create a private lobby and go for a walk around in each of the zones. 7. Buy Recruit packs till all the Blue Weapons are Maxed out. Mods will not be. If soloing, at that point, start playing Silver Games, and buying Veteran Packs. rinse-Repeat with the next tier of difficulty (well, it's a dream for me!) 8. Cover is important. And so is high ground. 9. Use up all your Ammo 1 as you play Bronze. Stash Ammo 2 for Silver. 10. If at all possible stick with the other players. Don't worry about other people outscoring you, worry about getting through the zone alive and extracting. If you are worried about it too too much, play a Vanguard (I am not biased at all, obv.). 11. Kalence builds are to be taken with a grain of salt as a noob, but a good starting point. 12. The hardest enemies to deal with are Praetorians, Scions, Ravagers and Phantoms. In the later waves do not hesitate to use Cobra missiles on them.
Above all, as always, courage and never let anyone tell you where you belong.

Yeah, real good way to welcome new users. By posting stupid shit and insulting them.
Thank you @domi for getting this thread on track and actually helping. Most of what a new player to ME3MP needs is in that post/thread. I'd also suggest you check out the MP Stats section for in depth damage/hit detection and bonuses. Best to do that once you have a firm grasp of Silver though.

Good luck! I hope you will get to play a Vanguard! Or your equivalent of what Vanguard is to me, a total gamegasm!

You're taking this a bit to serious, "git gud" have always been the humorous response to these type of threads since the old days of BSN prime, I have a bit of a hard time seeing that it can be insulting given that it concerns something as trivial as playing a video game.

And forum banter is always a good ice-breaker. We were being welcoming, you see.

Too much to cover quickly and there are tons of threads that go in depth, but learn the following:
"Git gud" starter pack:
Right hand advantage Spawn control Reload cancelling Enemy immunities What equipment/weapon mods work with what you're playing.
These basics hold through all difficulties.

Are the remnants of the old BSN dont take everything so seriously... really... And the only advice I can give is enjoy the game and you find your team of friends so that it is not so frustrating to face what the galaxy or Space Magic sends you ñ_ñ And almost forgot you dont trust anyone with this banner... ANYONE...

I would highly recommend not listening to the people on these forums. Scrubs, the of 'em.
In all seriousness, I always highly recommend utilizing the basic human classes a lot for new players as they offer a good mobility, power sets to help with combos that hide weak starting weapons and the lower amount of shields will aid in needing to up your situational awareness for flanking enemies.
As others have said, learning how to effectively use right hand advantage to avoid enemy fire while damaging them is one of the best ways to up your DPS and survival rate. Reload canceling is a valuable tool as well especially on low ammo/long reload weapons.
From there, take your time and mess around with different builds to find the ones that fit your playstyle. There are different combinations on many characters that are very effective.

I wanted to add that one thing about the Humans, is that they come in a set of two, so if you do not know what power will work for you, you can always pick one option on one, and the second - on its mirror. I've never really ended up doing it, but always wanted to.

I played bronze for three hours and i cant even begin to describe how amazing it is Made sure to finish the objectives first. Also realized me and the banshee will never be friends anytime soon . Although i have feeling she might want a little more than that anyways. I have used three classes : Adept Vanguard Soldier Adept was lovely but i think vanguard takes the cake.Soldier was pale in comparison. And soldier was my starting class and i liked it alot but now that i realize the possibilities its hard to go back Overall it was fun and luckily i was always in a group of nice players. Some even made sure to remind us about extraction and how much time we had left. I wanted to add that one thing about the Humans, is that they come in a set of two, so if you do not know what power will work for you, you can always pick one option on one, and the second - on its mirror. I've never really ended up doing it, but always wanted to. I havent used the male equivalents yet so that's a nice tidbit. Thanks
