On Noveria, after the garage shootout, Captain Matsuo came in and was like, "Wtf are you doing Shepard?" I usually make a beeline for the Mako, never turned around and noticed she entered the garage. Also on Noveria: I went directly to the Hot Labs as soon as Ventralis gave me the passkey. On my 14th playthrough, never done that before. I was shocked to be attacked by him and his soldiers after returning to the barracks - and everyone else is dead. Still crazy how much stuff I haven't found. <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.960000000000036px; height: 4.060000000000002px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_67927784" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="4.060000000000002"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.96px; height: 4.06px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1138px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_87714438" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="4.060000000000002"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.96px; height: 4.06px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 143px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_35996808" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="4.060000000000002"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 23.96px; height: 4.06px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1138px; top: 143px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_82660006" scrolling="no" width="23.960000000000036" height="4.060000000000002"></iframe> If you do things in a certain order, you can actually find an Asari commando holding a gun on Han Olar. You can then manage to save him and talk to him afterwards and he'll provide you with his answer as to why Benezia's people were trying to kill of them. He also comments that "Everywhere I go, I'm the only survivor..." Like you, I had played the game several times before I stumbled into the sequence that triggers Ventralis' attack. Now, I wouldn't play it any other way.

How the heck do you do that? I've played the game about 30+ times and have never seen that (or maybe I have and then forgot about it?). I have another ME1 playthrough queued up and ready to go, so I could totally try for this when I get around to it.

I'm pretty sure I tried to get back that way and the doors were all locked?? I've only done the hot labs first once though, and I was very confused when Ventralis and his men then attacked me.
**** If Shepard clears the hot labs first and returns through the scientists' quarters, Han is seen being threatened by Matriarch Benezia's forces and he asks the asari commando threatening him if he'll get a "you know too much speech". After killing the asari commandos, Han tells the Commander that he's the only one left and that Ventralis had everyone killed under Benezia's orders.

On the planet Nepheron in ME1, in the middle of the flat Thresher Maw area, there's the front half a rover poking out of the rock as if it has been dragged under.
Never saw it before as I always went straight to the Cerberus bunker.

I just noticed the talking soda machine in ME2's Citadel for the first time. Losers drink Paragade... winners drink Tupari. If you want, I'm currently on a project to record all those minor conversations that happen during the game on hub worlds, plus all outcomes of not using Paragon/Renegade options durting some certain conversations. Here is the playlist if you're interested. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkR5v2ZVWP91ke9c7Bpfw5xhVjirTib_aMy two favorite ones are those:

For those that don't want/bother to make different choices when saving the Council, the intro occurs a little bit different. State of a default playthrough (Non Imported) has the Council killed and you can't chose a Councilor (Default Udina)
Plus, Miranda's subtitles are kinda glitchy when Council is saved.

It could be the other way around. Maybe the hotel has a replica, and then hung it upside down since they didn't know which way was up.

I found that after the citadel coup, Liara scene can be triggered if two of these three died (Ashley/Kaidan/Garrus). If you recruit the VS, Liara will say something how she's glad nobody get hurt.
(... I'm still amazed how little Garrus existence matter in this game)

Trippiest moment was realizing that Donner Vosque, the current leader of the Blue Suns, has the same face model and voice actor as the doctor Shepard speaks to before going in to see Thane. So it was like seeing Donner Vosque acting like Thane's doctor. :/
I don't know if anyone else posted this, but in ME1, I didn't know that there was a tank in Noveria you can hack when Geth attack in the garage.

Asari clone: "Then the cold ones began killing the flesh that would tend to the next cycle."
Given the many times I've played ME1 you'd think I would have paid attention to the dialogue and that the cold ones were the geth.

Did you ever try experimenting with squad placement to see how far they could go and trigger the thorian husks? I think it's possible to send them 2 levels down so long as they're within sight.

Huh, no. Maybe next time I do an MET run. Just starting on ME2 so it might be a while. I did it at one section where we have to climb a set of stairs. It's insane, but if you stand at the edge of the curved ledge where you're looking down at the outside of the staircase, you can arrowkey the landing at the bottom and teammates will go. It's absurdity at it's finest, but back in the days of being a low level squishy, those thorian creepers freaked me out with their vomiting. I'd send Wrex there to trigger them, pull him back and then funnel them through chokepoints.

I noticed that if you import your safe and play ME2 with Genesis DLC then the game will start with the comic that is way less interactive and the only major decision is choosing between Anderson and Udina. This results in the lack of question about this event from Miranda during her little evaluation of Shepard.

This results in the lack of question about this event from Miranda during her little evaluation of Shepard. I always forget to remove the Genesis DLC when doing a trilogy run. Since I always have the s/s romance mods installed for each game, Genesis sort of breaks when it gets to asking who I romanced. Which is fine since the choices don't apply.

I had a nasty discussion today, debating the really weird statement that no FTL capable fighters existed before Cerberus created them. Now I can see that I could have ended it really quick with the counterexample of Legion's shuttle + some nuance I'll cover below... but I didn't and things turned unpleasant, with both sides accusing the other of utter ignorance, hectic Codex research and me breaking my principles and quoting the Wiki without knowing if it's correct just to provide an argument a common man will read as conclusive. Exotic statements unbacked by sources and involving lots of lore stretching are always hardest to strictly disprove. Re-reading the discussion later, I realized that my final argument (other than that mentioned before) was in fact invalid, probably just too mathematically complex for my opponent to understand and respond (it involved asymptotic analysis). But one detail made my jaw drop after inspecting it closer. To the point: there is a Codex paragraph that always looked ill-conceived to me, let me quote: (Primary Codex/Ships and Vehicles/FTL Drive; bold mine). Those who had physics in high school know how exponential functions look like, for those who don't know: exponential functions take a finite value in 0 and then grow by a specified factor on each interval: It's very quick for technical standards. In fact, "cryptographic security" is defined for practical purposes as ability to force an attacker to spend amounts of energy that grow exponentially with the so-called "security parameter", which can be for example password length. By analogy, moving heavy ships with mass effect fields is really fucking expensive. Why I believed that this paragraph was ill-conceived: defining this power requirements growth as exponential looks like a big overkill, for example simple and comparatively slow cubical growth would prohibit using FTL on heavier ships as well without looking this radical. But let's now see how the power requirement to mass ratio looks like: (Scale is accidental, just look at the shape.) This function has a minimum on the zero-to-infinity range, its first derivative is monotonous on that range and it tends to infinity with its argument tending to zero or infinity. Translation: – a mass exists that is optimal for mass effect fields use, that is moving a ship of this mass consumes less energy compared to its mass than if it was lighter or heavier, – FTL is prohibitively expensive for both very light and very heavy ships. Equivalently, if you define FTL viability by specifying its power efficiency, you get a bounded range of ship masses where FTL travel is viable, no tin cans or planet-sized stations, only something in the middle. And it's all explained by simplest "the relationship between these two is exponential". I don't know if it was intentional, but if it was, I'm deeply amazed.
Final b8: Andromeda has nothing like this.

Idle curiosity: what was the case for them not existing before Cerberus invented them?
