If you wait for the sick Batarian to die in the Plague Zone he drops his credits. So I in fact did wait for him to die so I could rob him. LOL. Just as he predicted.

I had a nasty discussion today, debating the really weird statement that no FTL capable fighters existed before Cerberus created them. Now I can see that I could have ended it really quick with the counterexample of Legion's shuttle + some nuance I'll cover below... but I didn't and things turned unpleasant, with both sides accusing the other of utter ignorance, hectic Codex research and me breaking my principles and quoting the Wiki without knowing if it's correct just to provide an argument a common man will read as conclusive. Exotic statements unbacked by sources and involving lots of lore stretching are always hardest to strictly disprove. Idle curiosity: hat was the case for them not existing before Cerberus invented them? Precisely nothing verifiable, I think he just kept spamming this and other bullshit to discredit me by making me bog down trying to disprove it.

How many dog tags were collected on Alchera? Twenty, right? I decided to count the crew in ME1 and it was twenty. Little details like that are interesting to see.

ME1. Feros. Right after meeting Fai Dan I head to the tower where the geth came in. Searched further in than ever after defeating the geth. There was an upgrade an some other computer-y looking thing. Never saw that before.

I've always pinpointed the Reapers as having been a billion years old and having had about 20,000 cycles based on them coming every 50,000 years. I just listened to Sovereign's talk. Sovereign said that the pattern had happened more times than Shepard could imagine. 20,000 times isn't more times than I can fathom. I know the thing exaggerates but could it mean the Reapers are much older than a billion years? Could the Leviathan have held the galaxy in its grip multiple billions of years ago? Anyway, something I noticed and am now pondering.

Would you have imagined 20,000 times when the reaper said that? No, but I still think they might be older than we think. From ME1. The Leviathan of Dis is nearly a billion years old. It's not Harbinger which means the Reapers could by older than suggested, like I thought.

I mean, according to best estimates to date, the milky way itself is is about 13.5 billion years old, which gives the reapers a maximum of 270,000 cycles.
Just like 20,000, that number is also not "unfathomable" as a number I think. But still, imagining a life span of 1 billion years (or 13 billion), I don't know, I can only imagine this in very abstract terms. Since no human (or other council species, even those with longer life spans) has any experience even approaching anything like this, I think if we are honest with ourselves, Sovereign might have had a point.
Fathoming just the number is not the problem, fathoming what it really means, what kind of experience, knowledge and memories must have accumulated in a life form that is that old is a whole different matter entirely, I'd argue.

3:00 AM, I'm contemplating the existence or non-existence of slipspace in Mass Effect and it enlightens me that the two reported effects of mass effect fields (local mass and speed of light manipulation) are in fact the same and it follows straight from simplest equations of special theory of relativity.

Primary Codex/Technology/Mass Effect Fields What the hell is positive and negative current? Monocrystalline solids can have anisotropic properties so I'm assuming that it's about the direction of current in an eezo crystal.

Monocrystalline solids can have anisotropic properties so I'm assuming that it's about the direction of current in an eezo crystal. I suppose it could be explained so, but why do I have the feeling that they simply confused electric current and electric charge of particles? Also, what the hell is 'mass of a volume of space-time'?

That one actually makes sense. To alter any property of <whatever> you'd need to apply energy. E.g., moving electrical charges, i.e., electrical current. As for the volume thing; Every conceivable volume is inside the space-time/universe and so also is a volume of space time. So a mass of volume (...) is just the mass inside that specific volume (in the universe). (I'm guessing that some geometric limitions apply, too.)

I noticed the background dialogue on the main ME3 screen sounds a lot like the dialogue that plays on Aya from Mass Effect Andromeda.

So I was watching someone on YouTube finish a playthrough of Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition), and I guess someone in their Twitch chat pointed out that the map of the Council Chambers looked like Reaper. Not sure if that was intentional, but that is the first time I notice it and now I cannot unsee it.

In the Legendary Edition, I found out that if you don't nominate Anderson or Udina for the council at the end of ME1, you get to choose at the beginning of ME2 like the original game.

One that I just found out about recently: If you don't recruit Garrus and Liara before Virmire, Wrex will automatically stand down in your confrontation with him; no speech check required. The developers did this because you would have to go through parts of the mission with only Tali --including the boss fight with Saren-- otherwise.

The player can finish ME1 with 3 squadmates. A/K, Tali and Liara. Don't recruit Garrus. Rescue T'soni before Virmire. Shoot Wrex on Virmire. excellent
