Well, they did it... they killed him in the first hour. Perhaps Bio will pull a ME2 Shepard revival somehow...

Due to the implant and our connection to SAM, we now have some degree of access to Alec's memories.

Perhaps SAM may be capable of using Alec's neural imprint and his memories to eventually resurrect him as some kind of virtual "ghost". Could be that Alec did something similar to try to save his wife from a terminal illness, in the hopes he could preserve her consciousness (or recreate it) via SAM somewhere down the line?

Could be cool to have Alec show up again as a facet of SAM and take the role of our virtual mentor.

Even if that's all we get from him, I still love his charactersation. He's a hardass with a hidden heart of gold, who holds people to the same high standards that he does himself. They definitely cemented the idea that an N7 is a one man army, with how he quickly was mowing down Kett "like a machine".

The only thing that bothers me is that it could have been entirely avoided if the Andromeda Initiative had decided to use the standard Alliance breather helmets with the thin visor. Rather than go with the one they did, which consists of a huge faceplate plate that crack easily if you keep landing hard on your face.

Seems the Geth do have a point about windows being a structural weakness.

Also, maybe Ryder should have taken Kirkland's helmet from his body? Might have been wise to carry a spare, in case their repair to their faceplate didn't hold up and starts to leak atmosphere? Was something that I thought of even before we got to the point the faceplate ended up shattering after their second bad fall.

Not that I'm trying to nitpick the scene or say it wasn't good, cause it was heartbreaking.

Just that the design of those helmets does seem really dumb. Having a greater field of view might be good for exploring, but it's bad when you're worried about combat in an atmosphere you can't breathe.
