So most people ordered the basic version? Or just the deluxe version? I couldn't help myself from the "super" version lol. I guess it's just me throwing money at gaming as usual I still haven't ordered anything yet but I am more inclined towards the middle version. I am not necessarily criticizing the people who went with the Super Deluxe one, but I am just trying to find a reasoning for me as well others who are on the fence about which option to buy. So far I guess the consensus here is that the Super Deluxe Edition packs offer too little in terms of progression to be worth the cost, particularly for hardcore players who will eventually just unlock stuff as they play the game anyway.

I'm also a huge fan of ME3MP and MEA will be the only game I play for along time. We don't really know what comes in these packs, but they can hardly give us something else other than 1 guaranteed Ultra Rare item, or maybe even two, who knows. It sounds pretty good, but we have to remember that they are divided into 20 installments; one pack a week. In the long-run those who play the Multiplayer the most will benefit from these packs the least (if at all), since you will simply unlock stuff as you play anyway. For instance, take a Hardcore player who plays 5 hours a day on average (some people play more than that). At the end of these 20 weeks (or 140 days) he will have played the game for 700 hours. That is enough time to unlock a lot of stuff, maybe even enough to max one's manifest. These weekly packs will have very little to no impact on the player's progression. Weird as it may sound, it may actually be counterproductive to buy the Super Deluxe Edition and yet play the game a lot. The people who may actually benefit from these packs are the casual players.

I know you're right about this, my mind know this, it's a waste of money, I'm just silly like that, always throwing money at unneeded things. I sometimes just can't help myself, especially when it comes to gaming. I think I've become better at it as I've become older though. There was a time when I was in my twenties and I wasn't thinking at all, I preordered EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING, I didn't care if I liked the game or not, if it was new and popular, then I just HAD to have it and then I got the game and put it on my shelf in its wrapping and didn't touch it for months and months and years even, still have most of them... a lot of them are Collectors Editions, I've actually made a fortune selling some now LOL.

So there's a standard, deluxe and super deluxe editions of the game? Sounds like too many options. It's ME3's ending choices all over again!!!
I confess though I pre-ordered the deluxe edition from Amazon the other day. Whopping $70 but then I remembered I had a $100 gift card so I used that. That shit was free son. I can't wait to play with my pet pyjak!

Just a update for this thread. I love the game, I would say this is the most enjoayble Bioware Multiplayer game yet and I would recommend it to anyone who is considering buying it. On the other hand, I believe consumers should be protected from potentially bad purchases and since EA/Bioware is not giving out much information regarding their products, it is relevant that we, gamers, help each other out.
So, by getting the Super Deluxe Edition you will receive one Premium Pack a week for 20 weeks. There are two relevant pieces of information to be brought to one's attention here: 1) These packs do not have a guaranteed Ultra Rare item inside them, thereby they do not do miracles in terms of inventory progression; 2) These packs can be easily bought from the Store (if you are a hardcore player or play with such people, you can get two Gold missions done in about 40 minutes and get sufficient in-game currency to buy one of these packs).

Hmm yes, also per that other thread about possibly bugged Premium Packs not providing rares, it appears consumables (both rare and ultra rare) can appear in place of weapons or characters, even before you've maxed out rare weapons or characters. That in itself irrevocably disqualifies a SDE purchase for me (along with any other real money spending on MP). See bsn.boards.net/thread/6105/beware-premium-resolved-working-intended
