It's not that surprising. Alec Ryder has been a soldier and astronaut for his entire adult life, which by the way has 40-55 being relatively younger compared to today due to longer life spans. Scott has been training to follow in his father's footsteps, and Liam has been a cop and is now also training for the Initiative. It makes sense that they would be fit between that lifestyle and medical advances. As for Scott's model, it should be noted he is only the face model, not the full body model.

That said, I would love if they allowed some body customization options. It probably wouldn't extend to what the OP wants due to things like animation budget, but they could do a few presets. For example there could be options like lithe, average, fit, muscular, amazonian, etc.

B-But aesthetics......

It was only his face. Nearly all humans, male and female, used the exact same body as Shepard. There were only a few unique cases for certain squadmates. 

I think that they should keep up the body shaming, If you have a ugly unfit body you should be ashamed! Go and get fit you fat ugly bastard!

this thread would be more legit if there was a single fat woman in any of the mass effects, but I can't recall any off the top of my head.

Just pointing that out, I agree with OP in that there should be a realistic distribution of % body fat shapes, with very few super obese people (like we encounter in real life), more of people who are a lil chubby, and most lying in the normal range who have more or less flat bellies (not necessarily all having freaking six packs, like it currently is). The trend should continue for skinny people (man do i know a surprising amount of people who are borderline anorexic).

But I strongly disagree that broryder (or sisryder) should be shaped like a volus, because let's face it I ain't so hot in real life and for a lot of people, this is the only chance to role play as an adonis/supermodel

But why male models?

You are wrong, Liam seem to have the same body of James Vega, while all the females as they showed in other posts, have ugly faces, small boobs and... well.. we need an "Ass thread" to confirm how Bioware is handling the rear.
