Most of the Mars mission can be avoided by running by the baddies or even walk by them. Yes I have walked by them without being shot. It's really funny. The mission that involves the turian bomb I completed in about 7 minutes. Well, we now know how you manage to complete your playthroughs so quickly

Well, we now know how you manage to complete your playthroughs so quickly The other reason is I don't complete all missions. I just do enough to move the game forward

You are really evil, aren't you? ... really? cheesing the door, where's the fun in that? Since Shepard is able to forever run in the game, I take full advantage of that. Most of the Mars mission can be avoided by running by the baddies or even walk by them. Yes I have walked by them without being shot. It's really funny. The mission that involves the turian bomb I completed in about 7 minutes. I'm teasing you... but I had it pretty much figured out. Speed run tactics. Have you ever thought of doing an official speed run of the trilogy?

I meant making it official at this site: www.speedrun.com/The only non-glitch run listed in one for ME1 (2h46m). Record for the Trilogy is about 7h, but that's a run with glitches in it. Personally, I'd like to see more non-glitch runs listed.

Ok thanks all will try those sugestions. I did notice the drone was useful to get the Guardians to turn, then I could shoot them in the back. It's more a question of just getting swarmed (right after you get off the turbolift thing.) I'm using the SR actually - uh, let's see, I have 2 available. One I think is the Mantis, forgot the name of the other. One gives me like 30 ammo, the other one like 13 (reminds me of the Widow.)
On that note, are SR's ok for Engineers? I'm a bit used to them from my Infiltrator last game. Also, I need to reset some talent points - hopefully I can do that on the ship soon. I do notice that my powers recharge much faster in ME3 than ME2.
If I was a Vanguard, could I BC into the Guardians - does that make them drop their shield?

are SR's ok for Engineers? [...] If I was a Vanguard, could I BC into the Guardians - does that make them drop their shield? In my first playthrough (which was on Normal, admittedly), I played a sentinel who often used an SR, and a sentinel is half an engineer... You have Overload on your engineer (as I did on my sentinel) which is a good power for a sniper for two reasons: it strips shields, increasing your chance of being able to one-shot your target; and stuns the target, making it easier to line up a shot. Biotic Charge staggers Guardians, making them hold their shields to one side for a second or two. They don't drop them. Vanguards can use Pull to deprive Guardians of their shields, or use a gun with a piercing mod to slice right through them. If you took AP ammo as your bonus power, as you were considering, Guardian shields shouldn't be giving you too much trouble. One thing that I've noticed is that even with piercing mods or AP ammo, glancing or angled shots seem to deflect off the shields. I've found that I need to hit them head-on. Edit: just occurred to me that if you haven't done a new game+, you perhaps haven't unlocked AP ammo yet.

Sabotage will also stagger the Guardians to make them move their shields to the side. Then you can either shoot them or hit them with Incinerate.

Got through it guys, thanks. The grenades being thrown at me were a big problem - they one-shot me if I'm too close. Can I throw them back? Or what is the strat involving how to deal with them?

Ah yes, the Shepard-seeking grenades. Sometimes if you just stay in cover, they won't do any damage. Better to roll away from them though, if you can.

Made it through I'm on the Normandy getting my bearings after a short trip to The Citadel. Still trying to adjust to Sheploo's face - this is the first time I didn't make a custom Shep, seems weird and not me. Oh well. I thought one playthrough with default Shep would be good since he's on all the art. Considering starting ME3 over and changing the face but idk...

All my male Shepards are Sheploo except for one in ME3. It's the only way to guarantee eye candy.

That, my friend, is completely up to you since it doesn't affect the combat at all on any level. I'm generally too lazy to use the CC. I don't mind ShepLoo so much. Really don't like default FemShep though (particularly in ME3)... another reason why I don't play FemShep very often.

It's funny, sometimes Sheploo can look hunky and heroic, the next moment looking like a strung-out druggie. I think I'll stick with it, not sure why it's bothering me more in ME3 than 1 or 2. Two weeks to go!

Let's face it, some of the facial animations would make Adonis look like a strung-out druggie. The twisty neck, the eyes rolling up, the derpy, creepy smiles. In some shots his eyes look like they are too close together and he goes cross-eyed.

It's ironic I'm having a Sheploo crisis since he's my avatar here and below this on the banner. I'm malfunctioning!

Ok, recruited Javak (kinda hard w/ Liara/James) - now I'm on Palaven and got some Garrus action. At least he has Overload - is Garrus actually useful as an Engineer? Btw I'm using my Drone mostly to distract then I keep forgetting about which combos do what I do like hacking cerberus turrets tho I wish mine were good

His cooldowns are long, but he also (once you level him up) deals out some pretty significant weapon damage.

I usually give him a Krysae SR (mainly because it's a turian weapon, so I figure it fits ). Garrus is frigging deadly with it.
