Then there is a single FemShep waking up next to Javik after a "wild" party. It's heavily implied that they had sex, since Javik says, "At least there is one thing primitive are good at." He could be trolling Shep, but the way she says, "Not another word," indicates they did just that. Without the player having imput as to whether or not they do this. It wasn't very funny and in fact, some players find that insulting. It's one thing to choose to (probably) have sex with Javik, it's another when the decision is made for you. Yeah, that was... a pretty blatant overwrite of the player's control of Shepard. Since you mentioned that situation, I'd also like to say that I don't appreciate it when the PC flirts without my input. That happened with Jacob in ME2, and it happened with Vega in ME3. Then there are other discrepancies , like the fact that Jack reveals things only to a MaleShep who romances her...One of the things that's so awesome about Garrus is that FemShep can develop a very close, yet completely platonic, relationship with him. He's everybody's bestest bro. I think (hope?) that BioWare has recognized some of this, and is putting forth some real effort toward developing (alternative) friendship paths for unromanced LIs. I can only hope these efforts include the ability to choose to flirt - or not. Well, ME3 was already much better at handling romance vs friendship paths than ME2...the problem with ME2 was that you simply had too many squadmates so everyone was allowed to say less, which led to locking stuff behind romance and not all that many conversation with them in general. And since they already said that squadmate with the least amount of lines has more lines than the one with the most in ME3, I'm not really worried.

While acknowledging that I too am a guy IRL, I must disagree. I think the Femshep/Garrus romance was probably the best in the game, perhaps the best in the entire series. You're choices as a straight woman were: Garrus, who was not to everyone's taste. That romance you had to start in ME2 (makes sense and Garrus is my favorite) The other was Kaidan, who could be dead on Virmire and that some consider very boring. If a newcomer didn't know that Kaidan and Garrus were the only two options, they were SOL. ME3 wasn't great in that department. Not just single Femsheps. If you are in a relationship with Kelly, as in locked in and got the achievement and everything, that thing with Javik still happens.

The way people care about romance and talk about it lol I just try to ignore it. The "Fans" of the series seem to care more about banging and romance more then anything else What else are they supposed to talk about outside of the characters and potential romances? "Ohh!! We can change the colour of the gun barrel to fluorescent pink you guys!!"

Preeety sure nobody said that. preeety sure you can't read I can read just fine. An article that says 52% of women plays games and 56% of that 52% play on console does not equate to "50% of women buy AAA titles". Do the math. But anyway, I thought you soooo don't care. Like at all.

New survey findings show more women own game consoles than menThe results of a new Pew Research Center survey on the demographics of technology ownership reveal an interesting statistic: Of those polled, a higher percentage of console owners were women.
42 percent of the study's respondents who had game systems — such as "Xboxes and PlayStations," the report says —identified as female. A slightly lower number of men claimed to have their own consoles — 37 percent.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just hope we aren't restricted to a one time romance/sex scene with each character. Pathfinder work is stressful, and I think we should be able bang between missions and planets on pretty much any part of the ship. Plus Cora looks like she has daddy issues (oh hey illusive man!) so you know it can't be too difficult to make her tingle with joy. They could even make it into a dialogue mini game where you have to say all the right things. Yours truly, Former Southern Frat Bro I'm not here to please...with words

I was really into Ash and Liara in ME1, and I kinda liked Miranda in 2. Also like Tali, but I never romanced her myself.
In 3, they were meh.
The Dragon Age romances have been super meh for me since Morrigan. Morrigan is the fucking best, dude.

Good times~ But I dunno, actually. Tali is kinda my type, but I wasn't super into her with my Shepard? I romanced Miranda up until the Shadow Broker DLC came out, and then I just abandoned all the ME2 romance options. Except Kelly. *whistle*

I can imagine it already... BruhRyder and Liam having "Bro moments" in the gym on the nexus or something... Gawking and touching each other's muscles... Flexing one too many times in the mirror... Making other gym patrons uncomfortable... Having a "too steamy" session in the sauna. Afterwards, getting protein smoothies. All in a good day's work!
On a serious note here, I just want one good gay romance for my Ryder. Is all I humbly ask for...

OP, tbh, I think BW devs - in general - feel a bit uncomfortable about discussing romances. Like they think it makes them a meowmeow, or something. Seriously, I noticed this with the DA devs, too, when pushed to talk about romance. They stammer about; they get embarrassed. ME devs do this, too, and have tried to downplay it. Fwiw, I think this whole "banging" dialogue is actually a defense mechanism because the idea of romance makes them feel squishy. It's okay to talk about "banging" because that's seen as "manly", but feelings and romance? No, because real men don't need no stinking romance/feelings..rawr!, and all that. I mean, it's BS, but that's the messaging they've received, and dare I say been indoctrinated into in many societies. Talking about banging is machismo. Talking about feelings makes you weak. Maybe it's marketing as well, but I think at the root is this goofy idea that manly man does not talk about things like that. The romances themselves, however, usually turn out better and sweeter than the schtick before hand. So I would not worry too much. Part of it I believe is because of reactions from players. If you introduced a Lesbian/Gay character and it's not their liking, then expect a lot of homophobe accusations about how why Bioware isn't making sweet romances and how they are catering to "straight dude" players. If straight people feel like they get the short end, then expect them to complain about Bioware catering to the tumblr crowd. Then that's not even going about their looks, look at the reactions to Cora and Cassandra.

Clearly Cora isn't a lesbian....... "Lesbian land"...lol No. I actually live in a pretty conservative area and I have probably seen like one openly lesbian woman. But short hair cuts in women are pretty common ,from young to old.It 's just trendy I suppose. The women with those hair cuts are usually very well dressed. Actually a girl in a store accross the street has exactly Cora 's haircut and it looks cool on her. Men with long hair are not considered "gay" by the public so I don't see why the opposite is an issue. Edit : I saw it was just sarcasm hahahah Re "Lesbian Land" Did you know that the Greek island of Lesbos (the greek root word/origin for the modern day word "lesbian") got it's name because it was populated exclusively by women? And yet in the time of ancient greek myth, there was no such word as "lesbian". Yes there were same-sex relationships, but there was no terminology (ie gay/lesbian, bisexual etc) to define it as there is now-a-days. It simply just was...and to be homosexual or even bisexual in the times of Greek/Roman myth was arguably more common than to be heterosexual. Nobody batted an eyelash one way or the other over issues of gender/sexuality.

Soldiers, teachers and students, and other same sex social groups generally had no problem with homosexuality, for instance.

Have you read "The Iliad", "The Odyssey" or the "Aeneid"? I studied Greek Mythology for a semester as a College elective, and loved it....Read "The Iliad" as prep material. Started it again after I graduated...But it's been 3 years and I haven't finished it. "Life" gets in the way. I haven't started the Aeneid or Odyssey either...No time. But my point is I love greek mythology and history. Would take that one course all over again if I could. I wonder if the Devs at Bioware used any motifs or themes from Greek Myth in Andromeda when developing their characters and/or romances?.......Something to think about or search for when playing through the game. Would be kinda cool though if there were any similarities!

I grew up on greek, roman, norse and celtic mythology, but I never studied it... let's say I know enough to realize that Brad Pitt's "Achilles" in "Troy" wasn't really portrayed accurately... other then that, well, my daughter is named Helena Galatea and my phone Penthesilea. Greek mythology has always been used in entertainment media in one form or the other... heck, a third of all scifie stories are essentially based on the Odysee, and MEA would also lend itself very well to some of it's elements...

Your daughter has a beautiful name.
