Hey guys, I need help with making mage Hawke my canon. DA2 and DAI seems to embrace the idea of Hawke being a mage and since I really like Bethany I have a hard time playing as a mage. Any justifications would be nice Hawke clashing with Carver is intriguing, if you want to rival him. It's also gratifying when you earn both the Arishok's respect (considering how low they consider the particular class) and Kirkwall's once you defeat the Arishok. In Act III, everything works fine either way up to a point, especially if you side with the mages; there isn't much difference roleplaying your Hawke to side with the mages with the intention of protecting your sister from Meredith's madness, or have Hawke fight for their life. But, if Carver is a Templar, the conflict becomes even more 'dramatic', if you like that sort of thing. The two share a pretty poignant banter with the right dialogue. Just my two cents.

Your first point is valid as fuck, but I don't like Templar Carver at all. Mainly because Carver is a better character than Bethany but Bethany is a better sibling. But Carver being a better character comes from the GW route

The only thing I could do about it personally was have many playthroughs with different choices. Not sure it will work with you, though.

Because crossovers are fun? I mean, it's PARAGON! Ooooh, I see. Well, I still agree that it's renegade, but it's the kind of renegade that everyone should do. Like punching that merc out the window. Even the goody-goodies do it.

Because crossovers are fun? I mean, it's PARAGON! Well, Paragon options usually involve "you are better than this" speech or some original non-violent Picard-like solution. Renegade is more like: "How to kill people in 99 ways".

All depend on what kind is your paragon... A well-placed stab can cut the problems before they would able to proliferate, and less painful ...

I don't get how Cassandra couldn't find Hawke. I mean, all you have to do is to follow a trail of bodies and explosions!

Well, he would make a fine back-up weapon for the Inquisition... I mean, there would be no need to tame a dragon or let Morrigan change into one to make things even with Corypheus.

A legend says that Nightmare let Hawke go out of the Fade after Champion defeated the demon in Wicked Grace. It's probably one of Varric's lies - but true one!

I subscribe to the theory set down by Champions and Heroes here; People like Hawke generate a "Someone Else's Problem Field" that makes normal people completely oblivious to the more fantastical things going on around them. That's why no-one seems to notice demons, bandits and magical duels happening in broad daylight and why the Templars in Kirkwall come across as utterly terrible at their jobs.

Are we sure Hawke isn't an entity similar to Cole, with this "forget"-type of ability? I wouldn't go as far as spirit of compassion, though. Maybe a latent sloth demon

Was it ever described how much can blood magic alter human's mind? I know it can control person to serve you, there's even in-game spell for that sort of thing, but I'm not sure about memories.

I also don't know... would be fun as "Jedi-trick"... Probably not as memory eraser, rather disturb the perception, for example, there's your beer, you pay attention to that, and you don't mind, what happens here. Remember, the "Exotic Wonder!"

I don't get how Cassandra couldn't find Hawke. I mean, all you have to do is to follow a trail of bodies and explosions! To be fair, it's Cassandra. Her only tactic for gathering information is threatening people. She's even more of a woman-shaped battering ram than Aveline. What I wonder is why the Divine sent her in the first place.
