It has been confirmed that there is no way to change our appearance/hairstyle/beard after we exit the Character Creator at the beginning of the game. www.inquisitr.com/3936434/dont-expect-to-be-able-to-change-ryders-appearance-in-mass-effect-andromeda-after-creation/I would like to ask the devs to add the ability to change our protagonist's hair, facial hair, makeup, and any accessories at any point in the game (For both the custom and default faces). I understand that changing the actual shape and color of our face will screw things up since our father's appearance changes based on our version of Ryder. It wouldn't present a problem to give us the option to change solely our hair and facial hair. Please don't be limiting like Destiny or the Division. Hell even Dragon Age: Inquisition added this after a public outcry/requests but also lacked it in the vanilla game. Embrace the standard RPG features of more trend setting games like Skyrim, Witcher 3, Fallout, etc that are as good as the Mass Effect franchise and impress us. Just add in a space barber on the Nexus! Please comment below and add to the poll if you want this added asap. If you say no, please give us a good reason why. Thanks! Also please go tweet @masseffect, @tibermoon, aarynflynn to get your voice heard and get this changed. The positive constructive criticisms by the public on the profile wheel and Sara Ryder's face had positive outcomes as the devs are listening. Use #Masseffect and #Bioware
Edit: To make this work, couldn't they limit the adjustments to the Default versions of Scott and Sara to just the hair length/color and eye color? It wouldn't mess with the iconic face shapes.

I don't think this is a matter of being lazy but rather an artistic decision on the devs' part. It probably wouldn't be a big deal to add it, they just don't think it should be. In any case, I'm just hoping that they actually give us good lighting for once. Even Destiny has good lighting, though oddly no way to rotate the character. I think it's unfair to compare Bio to Destiny or The Division. You get a slew of options by comparison. There's no contest here.

Personally I'm not bothered as most of the time I'm pretty happy ewith the charactres I've made in CC and don't really touch them again afterwards anyway so really there should be a don't care option really.

I am not gonna use the option because all my characters have mustaches and goatees (thus I already know what I am going for and I am not changing that)
But I DEFINITELY am pro adding it to the game as the lack of option is quite odd if you ask me. I mean DA2 has it and to the point you can even change facial features and stuff which in-universe is no way near a stretch of the imagination in a Mass Effect game.

This wouldn't be such a problem if the game a) had great lighting and the ability to move the camera freely around our character in the cc; and didn't have a long and unskippable cutscene right after the cc, making it a pain in the arse to keep going back and restarting the game because your character looks like stale sick once you get them in the game proper.

Exactly. To be fair, we never ever had any kind of "mirror of transformation" in ME universe (Mass Effect influence, no less). But using the same engine (down to many recycled features) and NOT adding one of the most wanted feature... Oh, well, what you expect from people with a small budget and a huge artistic integrity.

+1 this should be an option for those who either dislike what they created, or simply want to make some tweaks. At the least, hair styles should be an option, as humans do sometimes like to change it up.

This isn't really a thing for me so I'd vote "Ambivalent" if it were an option. It was cute when it was added to W3 as a DLC but it doesn't really make a difference to me. Now if BioWare wants to add a Black Emporium type DLC that would be cool, I guess.

I always find something a bit off with the character I've created after CC so it's like 99% guaranteed that I'm going to delete and restart the game the first couple times I play. Either give us an in-game way to fix it (early on in the game, not halfway through) or let me create my character relatively quickly after you create a new game so I don't have to waste a bunch of time. Skyrim. I'm looking at you.

...What?! I don't even. Besides just generally being a good idea, to the point where it should become (and is becoming) standard in RPGs, did you suddenly forget everything you learned from DA:I, Bioware? Did you forget that people loved that they could change their appearance in DA2, and that there was enough outcry that the feature was removed (on top of terrible lighting in the CC etc.) that you had to add it back in as free DLC? Are you not paying attention to other RPGs being released that have this feature? Did you perhaps play your own game and wish you could use that feature, or play a different one and be thankful it was present? Do you not understand how useful it is? Obviously, when you can't get a good look at your character during creation, from many angles and different lighting settings, it's helpful to be able to tweak a few things after the intro. How could you know they wouldn't look right? But obviously you'd rather us just restart the game like we did so many times in DA:I... But that's not all it's helpful for. What if you want to use it for roleplaying? Change your hairstyle before an important event, like a party infiltration or romance scene? What if you want to simulate your character aging or changing over the course of the story, adding scars or a longer beard, etc.? What if you just get sick of a look and want to change it? So... why not allow us this? Intensive and effective reconstruction surgery is already an established thing in the series, so you don't need a magic mirror for it to make sense in-lore, if that's what you're worried about. There is absolutely no reason it shouldn't be in. And don't try to freaking tell me that at least changing makeup and hair (all hair) wouldn't make sense. That should be allowed at the bare minimum. To sum this up: - Bioware includes a way to alter appearance midgame in DA2, fans enjoy. - Bioware doesn't include this feature in DA:I, have to add it in free DLC because of huge amount of outcry. - Bioware apparently forgets about outcry and decides to leave this feature out of ME:A, and will either anger a lot of fans or just make more work for themselves when they add it in later in a patch. Great plan! And how can I possibly believe you when you say "We learned from our mistakes in DA:I" now? I don't want to be upset, I don't want to disbelieve you, but what other choice do I have when you not only remove a great feature from previous games you made, but remove it after having to do extra work to re-add it because people wanted it so badly? Where is the logic here? Is this what we can expect from you, now? What other extremely vocal and almost universally-agreed-upon feedback will you have forgotten? The feedback that went into adding the Storage chest, or much-needed casual outfits, or about the terrible hair? I already know you didn't listen to the outcry about the 8-power limit.*sigh* It's like, when I finally put just an average amount of faith in you - enough to think you'll actually listen to such vocal feedback - I get even that faith shattered. Oh well. I suppose it was my own fault for having such "high" expectations I've had to say this a few times lately, but if there's something I can't stand, it's regression. Removing great features for no upside is most certainly that.

It might be engine limitations in that we'll see our hair move in gameplay situations but it'll be more static in cutscenes like in DAI where in gameplay the long coats and buttflaps move in the wind but when in a cutscene they appear pretty static. We'll have to wait and see though.
