Hey, EA marketing departement - next time, DO YOUR JOB!

So, I'm not the only one who thinks that this marketing campaign is the worst I've ever seen for a game.

It's nothing new with EA, really... they killed more of their games before release then any other company in history by now, and seeing how lukewarm the general anticipation for MEA is - outside of the fanbase, at least - it could very well be the next.

Oh I definitely agree with you. When I watched the video yesterday and saw the first 15 seconds, I immediately thought "Oh great, here we go again..."

I think it's safe to say Bioware noticed the backlash against the last video though. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake again.

So for the Gameplay videos have been great, and we know Exploration is next. So let's see if they can bounce back. Can't speak for their marketing team though, but I know if I was one of the head hanchos, I'd have given the marketing department a call yesterday.

I think more than anything, Early Access needs to hurry up and get here. I feel like first impressions is what's gonna save this game, assuming the marketing has been bad and the game is good.

That's the thing - people aren't stupid... well, THAT stupid. They tend to get suspicious when footage is so heavily controlled and edited... for whatever reason.

True, but what does it tell people about your product when "that" is the best you can show them?

I think that regardless of the quality of the game, which might turn things around in the long period if it's good, the marketing certainly caused Bioware to lose a bit of sales, on release.

Maybe, but I still don't understand why they didn't show a spoiler free side quest with more of the dialogue system.

I was just getting over my skepticism, warming up to the game, pondering to buy it close to release day. Then this IGN trailer comes along, strolls up to me all casual like, kicks me in the quad and runs off giggling like Peebee.

What are you guys talking about?
I think the campaign was great.
I'm what you'd call a "light gamer," and I assume most people are (this forum excluded of course), and the campaign was more than enough for me. I mean, the Andromeda Initiative briefs alone got me more engaged than I was for most games I played. Usually I mainly hear about games on FB and decide if I want them, maybe watch a trailer or two or something.
With this game I enter the Initiative almost weekly, I watch the YouTube trailers, I talk about it online here with you guys...
I think the campaign was more than enough. If there's one thing I miss it's not more game-play videos and such, but cinematic trailers for the companions like they did for DA:I:
