Rock, Paper, Shotgun critical Preview and Skill Up response

At least the early access and preview embargo  helped people that were on the fence, right?
People are saying different things of the early hours though, so for those that don't care seeing spoilers of the early missions I'd say it's better to see the videos of the first hours and judge them for yourself.
I'm pretty sure you won't have a good opinion of them though.

There are previews that don't believe the writing and characters are bad though. Expecially On the latter, it's a lot subjective, since even in the trilogy we have very different opinions on characters.
As I said, those previews are good for the people on the fence to step down and wait for full reviews or trusted opinions on those features.

YEah, I think it's fair to criticize MEA CC, I did in several thread, but praising the ME CC as some great CC is a bit of an exaggeration. It had more options, but it wasn't a good CC either way.

It seems she's one of the side characters that has the most bad writing. Previewers didn't have a good opinion on her as well, compared to others.

That review was a fairly performed parody/satire.

Reading that was like watching an angry drunk rant about some perceived slight.

True, but I'm taking the writing comments right now with a real grain of salt for a few reasons.  The overall main story can't really be judged until at least some people have played through the entire main story line in the game.  Even then, it might take a few people playing it through making different decisions before the "whole" of it can be fairly judged.  RPGs, by design, are like several books built into one.  Right now, all that can be fairly said is that some players are encountering some bad lines with enough frequency that they are of the opinion that the writing is not that good.  I also think it is possible for a player who is somewhat intent on showing off the game in a bad way to deliberately try to select the "worst" line for the moment out of the range of dialogue choices they have been given... just as much as it is possible to intentionally "show off" the CC to create an absolutely hideous PC (which is what was obviously being done in the one video I watched).

Sure, the writing is a concern... but IMO it's going to take a whole lot more "data" from different people before it can be fairly assessed.
