While I'm underwhelmed by what I see, I think I can probably make the most of it. From what I can see, one or two of the faces look workable for what I'm aiming for, but I do hope that this supposed future patch gives it a bit more. Is that person in your avatar your planned character? Yeah. Guess I'll see just how close I can get. |

I'm already in access and spent most of my time in the CC. I can 100% confirm that is a downgrade from DAI. For males you choose from several pre-made presets in which little can be changed. There are no beard options. No cheekbone and jaw line adjustment sliders, no eye shape options, eye brow options limited, eye color options limited and finally the worst offender is that skin tone options favor people of color more than pale people. One thing I liked about DAI was the CC which was although not perfect, good enough. MEA is a downgrade. Anyone else in access agree? We can't customize eye shape? Not even jawline and cheekbones? WTF?    |

Better or worse is relative because there are aspects that are better and others that are worse.
Specifically talking about the presets, they look worse overall. The person who designed them must have one ugly mug. The designer/s need to go jump on instagram and find some beautiful people to base the presets off of next time. But then again the default models are gorgeous soooo I dunno

I personally never change the presets (never done it for the trilogy) for a game like this I think it's odd to change how the character looks when it's already pre-determined. However, I feel sorry for you guys that have limited tools to create someone you wanted.
I however, want to add, can we change the preset appearance? Apparently, we cannot?

The CC in Mass Effect has always been shit. You spend an hour fiddling and what you get in-game looks...off. It was always better in Dragon Age.

Honestly I would have been okay with the presets if they had actually looked decent, had all skintone colours were available to every preset and had better beard options.
But no, apparently Bioware decided looking like a fucking clown is more important. Also, who looks at human preset 9 and goes 'yeah, he looks fine let's put him in the game'

Worst CC I have ever seen from BioWare since we had the option to customize a player character.  Honestly, I don't understand why they even gave the illusion of choice or try to make you think you can create a customer character at all from that mess. If they weren't interested in putting in the work necessary to make a good character creator, they should have just gone the same route as Jade Empire and presented a bunch of nice presets you could choose from. That would have been preferable to what we got..... I restarted four times and still have a character that looks 45 years old and is quite unattractive. Very disappointing.  I thought it was hard to make decent looking characters in DAI, but this is MUCH worse. *sigh* |

It wasn't a matter of Bioware having limited resources to provide a good cc, they just didn't give a damn. Bioware's whole motto is that their games aren't meant to be played in a specific way. You are supposed to create the story and play the game how you see fit, and a limited cc takes away from that. You say it could be worse, but this is literally the worst Bioware has done as far as cc goes. There's a reason they didn't make a promo video of the cc like they did with DA:I. |

I don't get why they didn't just copy and paste the CC and animations from Dragon Age Inquisition. They could have just taken those assets and built upon them.
Did they rebuild this from scratch. The presets and lack of options is about as bad as the division. But maybe, being in Montreal, Ubisoft shit turd devs came on board with Bioware

Getting the shit beat out of me is nothing to be happy about just because there are worse things.
Considering they had a CC in DAI and they chose to downgrade even that into oblivion is a clear sign of giving zero fucks. It's worrying when the developers give no fucks. Makes me question he quality of the entire product. ME1 has a better CC. Shit, KOTOR has a better CC. Baulder's Gate has a better CC. Those games at least had decent presets. The Hyperion gang all look like sad potatoes.

No I'm not going to be happy about current weak CC. Especially when one dev even confirmed we would have what we had in DA:I. I lowered my expectations after DA:I, but not far down enough apparently because I ended up disappointed about something that should've been considered the bare minimum.
