I am utilitarian. For me the important thing is the outcome, not the process to achieve that outcome. The outcome of the creator - a protagonist that appeals to me personally - is far more attainable than in DA:I cc, based on the screenshots of the characters people posted. Accordingly, I like this CC more than DA:I cc. It gives me what I want, rather the whole bunch of what I do not.

No, Andromeda should be judged by its content and thats it. Comparing it to other games just sets yourself up for being let down. Its not the games fault or even the dev's that your disappointed by the CC, when you build up idea of what it should be you cant appreciate it for what it is. Oh c'mon you can't really mean this. It's the developers job to improve with each model, not go backwards. It's better to copy paste from a previous title than to go backwards.

For example, if you use female preset 9 and change the skin to the whitest available, your dad is black for some reason. If they truly did limit the CC in order for your father and sibling to share your ethnicity, that only makes things even more terrible and hilarious because they didn't even manage to get that right. Basically, the whole CC situation is a mess. |

I've always generally been able to make a blond haired white guy that looks vaguely like me in DA and ME CC's. It was almost impossible for me to get any face vaguely resembling mine, and then fair skin with blond hair looks awful.
And the parents... dear god what a catastrophe.

I understand why most of the people are upset about CC, hell, even I was suprised when I first saw it. After DAI something like this? Weird. The lack of beards, complexions or changing shape of nose,etc... not good. But for me it's not a big deal, I never was able to create decent characters and I was forced to download them or use codes for ME trilogy. I think that these presets are quite nice and I saw a lot of good looking Ryders. I also really like the deafult faces, even Sara, she's definitely not ugly (but those animations, oh god). I probably won't be even using CC. And hairstyles? I like them, both for male and female.

Basically, the whole CC situation is a mess. they should have at least made Alec Ryder's skin tone match whatever you use for your Ryder. or, even better, simply let you choose from one of the preset Alec models. |
