I give it a 95%.
My ONLY complaint is the character creation, and I think I've pretty much gotten used to it.
Eeee this is such an amazing game!
Even in the beginning, there's sooo much to look at!
I'm gonna go make some tea and continue where I left off... c;

One of those hard to rate titles...it's obvious quality is all over the place and the game was rushed too son ( even with long dev cycle). What I liked the most is how they dealt with "chosen one" introduction here: this was far better than anything BW did so far, in the same vein. I think the quality of side quests and how much grind will we have on our hands here, will decide on how Andromeda will be remembered.

Exactly, far from being a privilege it feels more like an unwanted obligation that you get roped into. It falls to you because everybody else more qualified including Cora thinks it's a lost cause. Nobody takes you seriously, I feel like Tommen. The way I see it Cora basically massages your ego in an attempt convince you to do it so as to abstain/absolve herself of the responsibility diplomatically. I don't think for a minute she wouldn't have sold you down the river if the pathfinder position wasn't perceived as a poisoned chalice for a dead man walking but actually the best gig in town that it is. I full expect her to grow resentful of Ryder over time.

95%?... Are you guys even serious? This type of score should mean that ME:A is a fucking masterpiece, which it isn't, even only based on the footage released so far. Scores like 9/10 10/10 are supposed to be saved for when a game is TRULY amazing, unless you subscribe to the IGN method of rating games that is. If this game keeps the feeling it has after 10 hours until completion it will be a masterpiece. Facial numbness and dead eyes are graphical issues and do not take away from an otherwise stunning game. CC is a bonus and should not negatively impact a games score. I will say i originally had DAI down at 85% game after playing its trial and would probably give it 80% after completing it & DLC (and im more of a DA fan than ME i loved origins) so i do expect MEA to drop off to 90% though who knows maybe it will totally flop late game worse than DAI did, but i scored it based on the first 10 hours. It is better than DAI (trial vs trial not trial vs full game) though to be fair to DAI it was the first BioWare game on Frostbite

8,5/10
It's near that perfect score but it still has some issues.

Hmm those that rate it much higher than 80% are in the lead but the only commentators here are those that score well below that. Odd that. Read again you might be surprised...

Remember when 5/10 was average, as in it doesn't suck, but its nothing special either. Now 7 is the new average, and 8 is ok. Yeah i hate rating systems, but its a nice way to measure things. I prefer Eurogamer's reviews, they just give recommended and not recommended, seems like the best thing to do. That also forces people to read the actual review to figure out how they got there, not just latch on to a grade and go all rogue with it. JIm sterling summed up this problem perfectly, he gave gears of wars 3 an 8 out of 10 and the maker of the game did not took it well, that was not enough. His game deserve a higher note according to him, yeah some creator think they can dictate which score critics should give them... A long time ago a game rated a 7 out of 10 meant something and was actually a good score, it was not exceptionnal but it was fine, right now on the other end... :

I voted 85%. So far I'm absolutely in love with the game and I'm excited for the new adventure. I've made it up to the cut off point in the SP while taking my time and doing absolutely EVERYTHING I could. I enjoyed it so much that I'm thinking about using a VPN to play 2 days early, but idk since tech stuff goes over my head.
The only complaints I have are: -The CC, it's very limited - for example, if you pick certain preset options you have zero options to be pale and as someone who makes all their characters in every customisation game look very similar, this was a big deal for me. Looking like a pale ghostly motherf***er for my canon playthrough is a must (I know its stupid) so I had to use the default Sara even though her nose and mouth weren't ideal for me. -The lack of explanation for what all these graphic options do, I spent an hour on the settings while googling what everything means so I could pick the best visuals I could get for my mid tier comp, I still walked away not knowing what most of the stuff meant though... As I said, tech stuff goes over my head. -The Journal, I much prefer even the crappy ME2 journal compared to this one! Having to go through so many folders to find quests is annoying. -The saving... It's a big issue for when you begin the game and are trying to get the graphics looking good and having to reply the same scenes over and over.
Other than these minor petty things I really have no complaints. It 100% feels like a mass effect game, it is so reminiscent of ME1! (Only the Nomad is a lot less clunky than the Mako).

I went with 7/10, and I feel that is generous, based on my 10 hour experience. CC is bad, I had a ton of visual bugs and a couple crashes where I got stuck on a never-ending load screen. I had to dashboard and relaunch the game twice before I decided my save must be bugged. I loaded an earlier autosave and was able to get back in the game that way. The game itself is all too similar to DAI for my taste, in that it feels like a chore instead of a pleasure to play and explore (I hate the damn scanner already), the UI is just so much stuff in your face. The tutorials were really nothing but a box of text that briefly pops up and then disappears before I had a chance to read it all, so I ended up wasting precious time trying to figure out how to do basic things.(Mom of a toddler here, so others will likely be able to give more laser focus to what is happening on screen compared to me.) The jump jets turn everything into a platformer with jump puzzles galore, which is another thing I hated that they added to DAI. I can't jump! I suck at Mario style games and it's unfortunate to see that be a requirement now for a Mass Effect game. I was never a huge fan of the Mako, but at least it had guns and was a little easier to drive than the new Nomad has been for me.... I actually rage quit the game last night when the Nomad would not go up a smooth road path. I had my son try it today, and we both think it is a buggy invisible wall there, as the character could walk there on foot, and the car would drive around that section, but not go through it. So, hooray for bugs? I also don't seem to like the rather immature player character, unfortunately. :sob: I suppose a young teen would enjoy Sara more than I have? I won't lie, I actually tried to cancel my preorder, that's how frustrated and annoyed I was by the experience. I ordered the digital edition through the Xbox store though, so I'll probably just try to play again at release since it's apparently a nightmare to try to cancel a digital order. Hopefully it will get better from here as they maybe patch things? Maybe? At any rate, I hardly feel it could be any worse as far as my tastes and preferences go. I dare say if you loved DAI this will probably be a superb game for you. I wish I loved it. I WANT to love it, I really do. It might be time for me to break up with BioWare for good. We just don't seem to want the same things or see eye to eye like we used to, #prettygoodbanging aside.

I got to play a bit on my dad's EA Origin, I say it sits around 70-75%. I like the feel of some of the weapons, hitting things in the Not Mako is fun, after a fashion. My original idea of waiting til a price drop is in effect though. They brought back some of the things I loved from ME1, IE: Inventory/Guns/Armor/Customization and even hitting things with 4 wheels of doom buuuut... Animations, Story, Dialog....are very hit and miss. Maybe things get better after Eos.... Ill just probably end up renting and crafting things and explore a bit.

Scores like 9/10 10/10 are supposed to be saved for when a game is TRULY amazing, unless you subscribe to the IGN method of rating games that is. welcome to the world of reviews. 7/10 is playable 8/10 is flawed but fun 9/10 is good, 10/10 is godly or favor of the month. 6/10 I hate my self for playing this 5/10 is I'm going to drink tell I don't remember this anymore. 0/10 or 1/10 is for trolls the rest are myths. it has been this way for quite some time. in less your talking about gamers then its 8/10 worst pile of trash ever, everyone who worked on it should fired or beheaded or both. 9/10 I guess it's fun, 10/10 omg l best game ever!!! then every game is compared to it and found lacking no matter what til the end of time. This is why we need more rigor in our writing and presentation of review scores. A 6-7/10 is still a good game. I'm just saying...

We just don't seem to want the same things or see eye to eye like we used to, #prettygoodbanging aside. I haven't played it, but a fiend of mine did who has never played any game in the ME series. After two hours of play he hung it up and told me that the game isn't for him and he loves rpg shooters. I asked him what his biggest complaints were and he said, "The CC is on par with Stardew Valley, after a couple hours of the game I just couldn't handle anymore scanning, some of the dialogue seemed like it was written by a 12 yr old, and the limited choices for conversations was annoying. I thought Bioware was supposed to be king of the RPG?" That as his assessment. I told him to head here and do his own write up. Hopefully he does, so he can go into more details. Interesting to hear what someone who has never played an ME game had to say.

Its the case of, most video games do this too, they seem to have one new mechanic that they haven't done/ couldn't do and then really really over do it. This was one of the, many, problems with the Mako back in ME 1. Though I didn't mind the jumping bits in Inquisition and so far the jump pack looks really...reactive.

I honestly can't say if there were boring fetch quests though, as the jumping and driving learning curve ate up what was left of my time after I wasted more than 2 hours trying to create a decent looking character. The rest of the game could be amazing, these are just my impressions based on my 10 hour trial. Beyond the very beginning/early part of the game I know absolutely nothing. Also, I think I seemed to have more bugs then I have seen other people mention. A patch could possibly help.

That's sorry to hear a little bit...about the jet pack. I don't mind new things, it's just too bad they picked two things I'm awful at: driving and jumping. Just not a good fit for me personally, I know others will fly through those things with no problem (damn them!). I actually did have another disappointment....the MP. I have nearly 1,000 hours in ME3's MP, and this MP is (so far) much less fun to play. Hopefully that will improve over time too.

Now that's very interesting considering that by the early look at it they were trying to copy the ME 3 MP bit by bit. Though I can't play MP atm even if I wanted to so this is not going to effect my enjoyment one way or the other.

Copying some things from DAI wouldn't be horrible.

Finally a poll I'm interested in, unlike this raging pepe avatar guy asking unfunny questions about nudity. Hey, show some respect!
