I cant take 3/10 seriously either. Its like a metacritic user review, worthless. And it makes it seem like this game, tough dissapointing and not living up to the other ME games, is in the same league with say Battleship: the game, Aliens: Colonial Marines or most of those shitty movie licensed games. Its not, its above average game. 6/10 i get considering the unpolished state this game was in, i even get 5/10, tough theres some too much emotion mixed with rationality in those, but 3/10? No way. This game would have to have serious issues and some things would have to be outright broken for it to go that low. Heres how my rating system view goes, and im gonna post some games that get thats score for comparison from me: 10: Masterpiece (Final Fantasy 6) 9: Excellent (Zelda: Link to the Past, Suikoden 2, Eternal Darkness, Star Control 2) 8: Good (Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 1, Dragon Quest 8) 7: Decent (Final Fantasy 10, Metroid Prime 2, Batman: Arkham Origins) <--- The game is here for me. 6 :Ok (Resident Evil 5, Megaman x5) 5: Mediocre (Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Final Fight, Resident Evil 6) 4: Subpar (Final Fantasy 13, Megaman x6) 3: Bad (Aliens: colonial marines, Duke Nukem Forever, Most movie Licensed games) 2: Horrible (Superman 64, Zelda CD-I games. ) 1: Abysmal (Big Rigs: over the road racing, Action 52) MEA is not a bad game, by any way. I would gave that disgrace of a game a 3 too.

Mostly really like the game but here are my annoyances: - SAMs repetitive weather comments
- Illegible font
- inability to take cover where I want to
The only real problem for me is that I cant read 3/4 of the text so not really playing the game as much as I am getting through it. If they ever fix the font, then I can really play the game with some idea of what I am doing and why. Really find it upsetting that this is the second game Bioware has produced (DA:I is the other)where the font size is hard for many to read. Seems like such a simple option to include for those with visual challenges like nearsighteness. Yweesh!

The good far outweigh your minor complaints so giving it a 3/10 without even discussing the good just makes this seem like a angry rant rather than a well thought out review They may be minor to you, but to others they may not. I happen to agree with most of what was said. Though I would give the game a 6/10. For me, it was by far the worst of the series, just like DAI was the worst of that series for me. 6/10 is kinda where I am too. If they had fixed most of the really bad technical issues and given us a CC that is somewhat better than terrible I'd probably have given it 7.5 or even an 8.

So would you give them that if they fix those in patches? Or are first impressions everything? Far as I am concerned, that is MEA's score. If they fix those things 2, 3, 6 months from now it doesn't matter since most people will have long since finished playing the game. Reviewers don't go back later and change their scores when a game is patched. Most people are playing and more importantly to BW and EA buying the game in the first week to two weeks after the game is released. That is the score that matters. No idea if I personally will be playing the game by the time they are done patching it. I might eventually come back for a 2nd run at it. But yeah, first impressions are everything.

Since MEA released I've defended Andromeda and said it wasn't as bad as people made it. Well I did a lot of soul searching this weekend. I picked up a Xbone and bought the Trilogy.....Wow! You guys were right MEA isn't Mass Effect. My Love for the trilogy increased while the disappointment for MEA also increased. Seeing Garrus, Ashley, Tali, Wrex, Liara again we like coming home. It was so sad that I just walked around the Citadel to look at all the different Asari faces which all looked different.
MEA lacks the "big moment" like when I became a spectre. Heck when I found Wrex's family armor it was awesome. Andromeda is kind of lifeless when compared just to ME1.
How it it possible that a game that came out in 2007 looks that much better than one that came out 2017? Again ladies and gentleman my sincere apologies to ever think this game is anywhere near what we call a Mass Effect game.

I disagree. I've played the trilogy many times and I still thoroughly enjoy Andromeda. I think it has so many more character building moments with your crew that you don't have in Mass Effect 1. Everyone remembers the interactions with our crew and the love we have for them in Mass Effect 3. The Citadel shooting with Garrus, dancing with Jack, convincing Jeff to take a shot at EDI... However, a lot of people seem to forget this was built over THREE FULL GAMES of interactions and character building. Go back and play Mass Effect 1. Just Mass Effect 1. Garrus Vakarian, the God of Mass Effect, is a boring character. All he talks about is leaving C-Sec because of the red tape. Tali only talks about technical specifications. They both are boring characters.
Compared to Mass Effect Andromeda, they give us what we love in the first game of the new series. We get chances to bond with our crew members. We get conversations with them on the ship like the old days, but then we get loyalty missions specific to these new characters. We didn't get that in ME1. Not this in depth. Imagine if Andromeda is a trilogy, by the time we reach the third game what our attachments will be. I suppose that depends on you liking these characters in the first game, but I do. I like my whole crew and want to see them again and grow with them. I feel like I know them much better than my ME1 squad.
Besides that, I do think there are some great "big" moments in the game.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
Alec's death on Habitat 7 and becoming Pathfinder was pretty big Exiting FTL right in front of the Kett fleet and having Archon specifically looking for you before fleeing into the Scourge was intense Confronting the Cardinal and deciding whether to save the Angara or destroy the facility, and then deciding whether to shoot the Cardinal or not seemed significant Landing on Aya for the first time and walking unarmed by yourself through the town as everyone clamors to get a glimpse at "the alien"
Honestly don't apologize for liking Andromeda. That's ridiculous. I think it's a good game and I'll never apologize for thinking it. It has problems. I'm not stupid. I know it does. However, I think the whole thing is great. I've enjoyed the story. I've enjoyed the crew. I've enjoyed the side content, which I think is stuffed to the gills with content. I've enjoyed the increased focus on dialogue and asking questions that we lost in ME3. I've like the worlds. I love the game. It's different from the trilogy. I think that's good. I love Shepard and company and the original games, but that doesn't mean I can't love Andromeda too.

You could've pushed an older thread, too. It didn't do me any harm avoiding trailers before the game actually launched and this one isn't even really good. Always keep calm, don't no man's sky too much. But I'd recommend watching the 6 training videos when you're just starting, at least they're contributing some real flair to the game. And a helmet.

He/she hasn't said anything constructive or otherwise. Just seems like pointless whining to me. Seems to me that it's time for people like the op to just move on to another game instead of staying around trying to bring everyone else's spirits down. I understand "misery loves company" and all, but it's getting annoying already. Just move on.

This is a game I'd call a guilty pleasure, like the movie independence day, it's a good game, not a great game, though I did get a real blast from the ending, unlike an unmentionable, oh of course I can mention it, that cheap and numbing ME3 ending, it still has a lot of polish issues, it doesn't clean up after itself, things like sound assets are left in place, so you hear Tann's refugee arrival speech every time you return to the Nexus, the same with your last response to Keri, gets real annoying, I found the same thing in encounters, multiple spawns of raiders for example, good if you want to exploit xp, just keep killing them as they spawn, there's also memory leaks, on a 16gig rig I have to use Razor cortex to keep this game from crashing as often as it does without it, even then my memory stats show this game using over 10gig, I can't even get near ultra settings, it's far from an optimized game.
