Voted for Reyes and Vetra.
Planned to romance Cora with my mRyder on my first playthrough, take it nice and slow with her story, then Kadara came along and well, i don't know what happened xD (oh yes, you do e_e).
I guess what changed my mind is that (in my opinion) Reyes is a very conflicted character, dancing on a line between black and white. He can be/act cold, but also warm and emotional. What i also liked is the uncertainty concerning his actions and motives.
As a sidenote, have to admit, i also fell for Bishop back in the old NWN2-days...good times.
(sry for mistakes, english is not my first language)

Yeah, definitely not Jaal's. Good character, awesome avatar, but not the kind of videogame character I like romancing. Don't like the VA either, and it doesn't help. Hopefully, better luck with my next character.

Shows that screentime isn't the most important thing to create a compelling romance! Seeing Reyes as top doesn't surprise me given the fan base that frequents these forums. Being romancable by both sexes helps with popularity quite a bit. That and people like a bad boy or girl with a bit of mystery. Outside these forums Peebee holds the top spot, and I feel she has the best romance and growth among all NPCs. The amount of trust she comes to have in Ryder especially if you romance her is heart warming. She also has the best pacing if you go the causal romance leading to an exclusive relationship. And she finally gives Asari melding the weight I always felt it should have.

Well, at least both polls agree that bisexual romances are popular. What do you collate as stats though? Whom you locked into with the romance? I locked in with Jaal. Does not mean I liked him. I did it for plot reasons. So, collating my "result" atm will give false positive. My answer on the poll is more representative of what I consider the best romance. After I have a chance to compare. How can you possibly pick a "favorite LI" if you did not have a chance to play through more than one romance? This survey answers a slightly different question, and that is: "Who did you chose to romance on the first Playthrough?" Peebee is an obvious choice, because she offers sex to both female and male PC the earliest in the game. |

The sample size was 1,042 (according to @masseffect_News on Twitter). I participated in the Survey, but since this was only a week after release, the survey likely reflects first impressions. Favorite romance was just one of the questions, and it wasn't broken out by gender or demographic or anything like that. |

As much as I hate to admit it, that survey looks in line with traditional view of gamers demographic and preferences: more male-gamers, than females, males prefer human women (or with slight deviation like asari), potential m\m NPC is something to avoid, f/f is still mostly to entertain male gamers and Turians are still favorite race (after Asari, obviously).

I'd still have to go with Peebee -- loved her growth and development as a character and her romance arc is very sweet.
I can totally get the Reyes love, though. Swarthy Han Solo type with a mysterious past and intrigue, AND voiced by Hawke? Swoon. I liked him as an accidental bro for my Ryder, but while I was planning on Vetra for my next go, I might be tempted to at least flirt a little with him...
