Best romance?

That is voting twice in the same poll, it doesn't invalidate what I said. And it does skew the poll. Say for instance someone liked Jaal the most yet felt Reyes was a close second and voted for both. Then add in that not everyone taking part in the poll voted for two romances and the results are even more skewed.

That other survey though places PeeBee in the lead with both Vetra and Cora being higher than Jaal, and Reyes even lower. It does not show much save for that the answer is "depends on whom you ask".

Heh, tbh, I like what I like, so if my preferred LI is bottom of the list... more for me, I suppose? Honestly, I am Thane's girl, one of three women out there that did not fall under Garrus' spell. I am more interested in working out the most perfect sequencing of the PT#2 to make Reyes content available throughout the game. Jaal's romance was not my kind of romance. I am interested in an ultimate protagonist with the romantic line that makes the best lovestory, so it becomes my permanent canon I think about when I think about Andromeda.

I like Reyes because like Jaal he introduces you to the part of Andromeda's world, in this case, the Exile subculture. Instead of just taking orders from you.

If I can create a PT that captures the feeling of: "SAM, I miss Reyes and that crazy planet. I know I have other priorities, but... Kallo... could you set course for Kadara? Yes, yes, Cora. Again. We still need to sort out that drug problem in the slums and see if we can hit the Vault there... (or Sloane was throwing a party. I think I'd better go and keep Reyes out of trouble...)"

I think if I do it that way, it will actually be way more natural and spontaneous than waiting on prompts from Jaal to go do another Angara thing. Yeah, Reyes is a human, but it can't be helped.

@domi , That can be easily done, there are so many side quests that keep bringing you back to Kadara. I wasn't planning on romancing Reyes, so I didn't see all his content in one go. I left and went back to Kadara several times, with lots of trips to the Nexus inbetween, and it felt like that planet took forever, haha.

I like Jaal, he just feels more like a BFF to the Ryder I played, but he's probably one of my favorite characters in the game. Jaal and Peebee were my go to squadmates and I thought some of their banter together was hilarious. They both felt plot connected.

But I've seen more hate for Jaal than Reyes. Jaal is such a broken character. 

But I digress.

Just don't appreciate a writing off of a character's popularity simply because of wider accessibility, nor do I appreciate a petty invalidation of a post or opinion via "HAHA" that's really just petty and desperate.

Trying to qualify a "best" romance is a stupid question to begin with. There is no best when it comes to something that is purely emotional and subjective, even quantity of content can't be used to qualify a romance as the best because if someone finds a character grating, it's not going to be the best option for them regardless.



There are only favorites.

Jaal sounds like my dad, also with his mannerisms. Nothing more off-putting when wanting a romance option. There were plenty of hot sounding angarans, so why use that rather pompous voice?

Jaal is pompous, that's why. Or I should say his family is a big deal and he's very much a guy who takes care of his comforts like a rich kid does.

Yeah he's got a nice voice. Jaal is more like Javik, though both voice actors in-game talking together quickly shows you they aren't that similar. There are moments were Jaal's voice is so soft and more British like his actor and it's just lovely! Like when he says "I'm glad you're here" during his LM. Jaal being from Havarl though has an accent more like Javik, but his time on Aya adds a British spin since the Angara there have that accent. Evfra is from Voeld, so his accent is like the Angara there.
